A/N – This is an alternate universe storyline. So, I am taking certain liberties with the timeline and story. Liz is 22. She's a nurse and she has no children. Liz and Lucky have a relationship for several years before Helena kidnaps Lucky, but they've only talked about marriage. Emily is debating going to med school. Jason is working for Sonny and basically has the same history.
Chapter 1 – Snow Angel
Jason carefully strode across the freshly coated snow that had just fallen, noting how everything seemed to sparkle as the moon glinted off the ice crystals. It is like a winter wonderland on the mountain where he had taken refuge at a cabin while some trouble blew over in Port Charles. He was calmly taking in his peaceful surroundings when he heard footsteps running away in the distance, so he grabbed his gun and crept along the tree line only pausing when he hears a car pull away. Slowly, he eased around a corner and that is when he saw the figure lying in the snow. Jason cautiously approached it and then grabbed the person and turned them over, quickly discovering that it is a woman. He put his gun away and brushed the hair from her face and gasped, realizing that he had seen her at the hospital and that she is his sister Emily's friend, who had mentioned her often. Quickly, he assessed her condition and noticed the gash on her head and the bruising on her face. Her hands and feet are bound together as well and he wonders what the hell had happened. Gently, he lifted her and moved to his car as fast as he could, so he can get her warmed up.
Once she was laid on the backseat, he focused on his driving since the roads are still treacherous. Twice his car slid and he barely got it under control before he pulled into the driveway of the cabin. It's way too dangerous to attempt to make it back into town. It is a two-and-a-half-hour drive back to Port Charles. He parked the car and then got out and opened the passenger door as the snow starts to fall again. After quickly gathering her in his arms, he retreats into the house and lays her on the couch. She is extremely cold to the touch, so he put some wood on the fire and turned up the portable heater before returning to her. Cutting off her restraints, he grabbed some blankets and sat on the couch before tugging her against him and then covering them. Concentrating on her chest rising and falling, he eventually fell asleep.

When Jason woke up early, she is still knocked out. He closed his eyes and thought about the sequence of events of the prior night. Who would want to hurt Elizabeth? Why would they just dump her body like that? Suddenly, she began to stir and he tried not to move so that he wouldn't scare her. He could feel her eyes on him when she had shifted and then froze at the sight of him. Slowly, he opened them and found the most beautiful set of blue eyes staring back at him.

Liz woke up to a blinding headache. At first, she couldn't even open her eyes, but as she became more aware of her surroundings, she realizes there are arms holding her and she is lying on top of someone. Slowly, her lashes flutter and she saw the face of the man beneath her. He looks familiar, but her mind is so scrambled she can't place him. When his eyes fully opened, she saw the most beautiful shade of blue she had ever seen. Flashing back to the previous day, the fear and panic started bubbling up inside of her. She scrambled off of him and backed into the other end of the couch as she shook and tears started to gather in her eyes.
Jason got up and stepped away from her.
"Hi, I'm Jason."
Liz clutched the blanket closer. "I—I know you."
Jason smiled. "I'm Emily's brother. It's okay. You're safe. I found you unconscious in the snow and bought you here."
She closed her eyes and thought for a moment and then nodded.
"Are you cold?" He could see she is shivering, but it is very warm in the cabin.
When she shook her head, he realizes that she is just scared. "I would never hurt you, Elizabeth."
She shook her head like she was trying to shake off her memories and the tears just sprung like a dam bursting. Jason slowly moved towards her and knelt.
As the tears poured down her face, she held his gaze, pleading with her eyes for help.
He held out his arms and she tentatively moved towards him as his strong arms enveloped her and he rocked her until she calmed down. When she finally retreated, he handed her some tissues.
"Bathroom…"
Jason stood and held out his hand. She pushed the covers away and tried to stand, but her body aches and her legs aren't functioning well. When he suddenly swung her up into his arms, she gasped, and his eyes locked on hers to make sure she is alright as he carries her down a hallway and then carefully puts her down inside of the bathroom. There is a bench against the wall, so she hobbled over to it and sat.
"There's a robe behind the door."
He moved past her and ran a bath for her as she watched him until he disappeared, only to come back a few minutes later with a cup a tea which is placed on the vanity. The water was turned off and then he turned to face her. "I'll be right out there if you need anything."
She nods, and her eyes track him until the door shut behind him and she let out a sigh of relief, silently crying for a minute before taking off her coat and the rest of her clothes. When she finally notices her reflection in the mirror she gasps at the myriad of bruises that covered her body. Her forehead has a laceration and her curls are all over the place. Tiring, she moved the cup of tea onto the ledge of the tub and then slowly immersed her body into the warmth of the water which enveloped her and soothed her pain. She grabbed the hot cup of tea and slowly slipped it. It smells like Jasmine and immediately relaxes her. That is how she stayed until the water got a bit cool and then she pushed down the stopper to let the tub drain. Attempts to stand were met with excruciating pain as her hip screamed at her. She must have made a noise because she heard him call her name and then the door slid open a little. "Elizabeth?"
Even though she's completely mortified, she doesn't have a choice but to tell him what was wrong. Mentally, she gave herself a pep talk about the stranger seeing her naked. I'm just a patient like at the hospital. He's probably seen dozens of female bodies. I can do this. She repeated it in her mind several times until her breathing calmed. "I need help."
