I have been wrapping up so many stories holy crap. Well as I promised, an extra-long chapter! I hope you enjoy this! And don't forget to review!

3 years later…

"MERLIN!"

The King of Camelot's voice echoed through the castle, bouncing off stone walls and reverberating off of the floors. In all his great glory, the King of Camelot rounded a corner as he marched down the hallway, his boots clacking against the floor.

His blood-red robe was swept around him, fluttering from the slight breeze that made the harsh heat seem a little more bearable. He was dressed in his finest, such attire that he rarely worn and the last time he wore it was when he was married.

The annoyance on his face was not an uncommon nowadays, it seemed like he was annoyed with everyone these days. But right now, his attention was fixated on one certain warlock that was late to his own ceremony.

King Arthur shoved opened the doors to his warlock's chambers without preamble, mouth open to start lecturing but was shocked into silence at the sight that was waiting for him.

Practically everything in the room was floating around, two swords were clashing together as if invisible knights were fighting each other and Arthur barely managed to suck out of the way to avoid getting his head chopped off.

The source of the magic was sitting on the edge of his bed with his head in his hands. Arthur walked forward with caution, the last thing he wanted was to get stabbed, and knelt in front of the warlock. "Merlin?" he asked, his faced pinched with concern.

Arthur bit the inside of his cheek to keep in a gasp when Merlin looked up at him. His eyes were pure gold and filled with fear and panic. His hands were shaking and his breathing was too fast and too shallow to be considered healthy.

"Whoa, hey, Merlin, calm down." Arthur said, alarmed. He reached forward and grabbed Merlin's shaky hands in his to try and calm him down. "Deep breaths." This had happened before, more frequently in the past few weeks, but Arthur knew how to deal with Merlin when he panicked and lost control.

"Breathe in time with me." Purposefully, Arthur took deep, even breaths and watched as Merlin struggled to copy him.

Slowly, the magic all around them began to disappear as Merlin regained some control of his powers. The swords were still fighting and clashing in the background, but Arthur ignored them. Those stupid things have been such an annoyance; Arthur wasn't sure why Merlin insisted they keep them.

The objects floating around slowly settled back firmly onto the ground and Arthur let out a breath of relief and squeezed Merlin's hands. "Better?"

Merlin nodded, looking embarrassed but still his eyes were still panicked and full of fear. "A little. Sorry, I'm just…"

"Nervous?" Arthur guessed and smiled comfortingly. "There's nothing to be nervous about! Most of our friends already know about your magic. We have slowly introduced magic here and there to Camelot, everything will be fine."

Merlin took a deep breath. "I know I just…" he trailed off again before finding his voice. "I'm scared, Arthur. You're going to release the ban on magic today! Using me to do it!"

"You agreed," Arthur pointed out lightly. If this had been any other situation he would have knocked some sense into Merlin, but this was different, and he had learned when he needed to be more sensitive about things.

"I know and I'm still going to do it." Merlin sighed in frustration. "But what if they all hate me? The villagers? I mean, I've lied to them for so long and there are still some people who despise magic and would do anything to eradicate it."

"Merlin." Arthur said firmly, forcing the man to look at him. "I am only going to say this once. You will be fine, and if anyone has any objections, I will kick them out and let them sit in the dungeons until they change their minds. Okay?"

Arthur could see Merlin was trying, and failing, to fight a grin as he replied. "Okay."

"Good." Arthur stood up and clapped his hands together. "Now come on, we're already going to be late. That isn't a very good way for my manservant/head warlock to make an impression, is it?"

"No," Merlin chuckled and he stood up. "I guess it isn't." He took a deep breath to gather himself and Arthur took a moment to admire Gwen's keen eye for fashion. The dark blue outfit Merlin was wearing made his dark hair seem even darker than usual and his eyes stand out, stormy and wise. For a moment he actually looked like the powerful warlock he was.

Then he grinned at Arthur and the King's friend was back. Grinning back, the two made their way down the stone halls of the palace, side by side.

When they reached the large wooden doors, Arthur and Merlin shared a look before Arthur pushed them open. Immediately, everyone seated rose to their feet and turned around respectfully. It was dead quiet, al that could be heard were the sure, confident footsteps as the King and his warlock made their way to the front.

Arthur greeted his Queen with a kiss on the cheek and held her hand as he turned to face the crowd in front of him. There were some surprised whispers when Merlin did not step down to join the other servants. Instead, dressed in clothes fit for a King, he stood by Arthur's side, right in front of the new throne that had been built to the right of Arthur's own.

The whispers started growing louder, but to Merlin's credit, he held himself confidently and cooly, not giving off how nervous he was. But Arthur could see. He could see it in the way he held himself just a little too stiffly, his eyes flashing with panic and blue beginning to mix in with gold.

Arthur raised his right hand for silence and immediately everyone fell quiet. "I know you have questions, but they will be answered." The people seemed unsatisfied with this answer but Arthur ignored it.

"Now. I have called everyone here today because I have an announcement to make." Arthur began, his voice strong and firm, easily carrying all the way to the back of the throne room. "For three years we have lived in peace and harmony with the druids and others who possess magic. We have restarted trade with them, welcomed them into our villages as long as they did not perform any magic."

Arthur paused before continuing. "Never before has Camelot stood stronger. Now she will rise even higher." Arthur smiled widely. "The ban on magic is revoked. As of this moment, magic will be legal throughout the Kingdom."

Just as they practiced, as soon as the words left his mouth Merlin stepped forward and Arthur stepped back.

Merlin couldn't believe this was happening. Adrenaline was running through his veins and he couldn't even begin to describe how light he felt. How free. It was surreal.

With a smile on his face, Merlin threw his hands out and his eyes glowed the brightest gold as light exploded from his fingertips. It spread around the room, dancing to an unknown song. There were cries of joy, surprise, and fear but Merlin barely heard them.

The light danced in the air and a laugh escaped him. "I'm free." He whispered, and felt a tear trickle down his cheek. His voice was amplified by his magic and echoed around the room, the soft, passion filled whisper.

He had never felt so alive. The magic he had blocked for so long was finally flowing free through his veins and he knew this was who he was. Merlin, the greatest sorcerer to ever live

Merlin looked over his shoulder at Arthur who was smiling at him and he laughed, the noise echoing in his ears and he couldn't ever remember a time he had felt like this. The moment was over all too soon. Merlin's magic receded and he lowered his arms. The light from the room slowly dissipated until there was no magic left on the air.

But Merlin's body was still humming as Arthur stepped up too his side. "May I present to you, my new Head Warlock, Lord Merlin!"

There was a moment of silence before the crowd started clapping, showing it's acceptance and approval. Merlin caught Arthur's gaze and they both smiled. Perhaps there would be difficulties along the way, but one thing was for sure. Whatever was thrown their way, they would get through. And they would get through it together.

After all, they were two sides of the same coin. And destiny always prevailed in the end.

I hope you all enjoyed this chapter and the entire story in general! I had a wonderful time writing it and I just wanted to thank everyone for reading all of this and sticking with the story. Tell me your thoughts in the reviews! And don't forget to check out my other stories! :)
