Chapter 22: The End of The Curse

"What's going on Arina why is Lucy here?" Natsu whispered sounding broken as he stared at the unresponsive body of his mate.

Arina was still kneeling beside Lucy praying that she would still be able to find a pulse praying that the Celestial Mage would live. Turning away from her with sad eyes she looked at Natsu his shaking form that he was barely holding together. The little girl in his arms being the only one keeping him calm enough to stay human although he didn't know it yet. She felt like a monster taking away a little girl's mother just like she had been taken from her own daughter much too soon. A daughter who had died without knowing about the curse slash blessing on their family.

"Lucy was always here Natsu. She and I were in the same body it was a curse put on me by Zeref," when the mages around her began to get angry she put a hand up to silence them knowing that he didn't deserve their scorn. "Not for malicious reasons, but because he knew that I would be the only one capable of changing Acno back from the dragon of apocalypse he thought it was best to make it that I reappeared in my descendents bodies. To make sure they had enough magic to sustain us both for a while he made it so that only those who unlocked my armor could summon me to them. Lucy was one of the ones who summoned me. Some of what you know about me was actually about Lucy."

"Why did she keep it from us? Did Lu-chan hate us that much?" Levy asked tears rolling down her cheeks.

"Oh Levy Lucy loved you all that was why she hid that she was alive from you all. She didn't want you involved in the mess that was our family history. Now I need to go end this for her memory."

Without looking back Arina left the last descendant of hers she would ever accidentally kill. Acno closely following behind her not wanting to ever lose sight of her again, he could feel the sorrow radiating off of his mate, but knew there was nothing he could do for her.

When she woke up all she felt was pain she could hear people crying all around her, but was shocked to find out that she couldn't move at all. Lucy remembered using the spell that Arina had sworn to never use again and prayed that Arina had lived through the separation. It was most likely that she had considering that she was in too much pain to be dead, and she doubted that she would still be alive if Acnologia was still the dragon of the Apocalypse.

Her eyes were swollen shut and she knew that the crying was because her friends believed she was dead. The pain was unbearable and she wished that she could speak to ask Wendy to sooth it with her magic. At some point she must have stopped breathing if Wendy wasn't working on her, but had Wendy given up or had they not noticed her right away and believed when they found her without a pulse that she was gone.

It was odd knowing that she was now alone in her own mind that she no longer had to worry about if she was losing her identity. At the same time though despite the pain she was in it was invigorating knowing that she was her own person once again. Knowing that she would never again have to worry on whether a thought was hers or Arina's. The only thing she had ever been certain of that was hers after the merge had been her darling Akio. Her poor daughter even if she was able to wake up right away how long did her daughter have to look at her unmoving body and think that she would never be able to speak to her mother again.

Akio had been the only one other then Zeref to know that she was two people. Cana wouldn't have understood, so she hadn't told her. Letting Cana believe that the girl she was getting to know again was always Lucy and not sometimes her how many greats there was grandmother. What were her guild mates thinking after having witnessed another body form from hers? Had they been shocked when they had found out, did they hate her for telling them that she was dead? Had Cana told Natsu about Akio being his daughter in time, or was Natsu going to become the next Acnologia?

"Mommy, mommy please wake up. I no want to be alone don't leave me mommy," the crying voice of her darling angel begged her. Akio's hand was clutching her own and Lucy desperately wanted to move her fingers and squeeze Akio's hand, but she was still stuck unable to move.

Arina had quickly found the hideout of that monster who had destroyed so much. It had been quite easy for her to kill him even though it hurt to take another humans life she justified it as being his fault that Lucy was gone. If it hadn't been for him and his father Layla would have never died and she wouldn't have closed the gate to the dragon realm with her last energy taking away the only other beings capable of fixing the problem of Acnologia.

She was upset that the gate to the dragon realm was no forever sealed with the death of Lucy. Akio had the blood of too many of the originals for her to be able to open the portal, and the only other Roscheal was from the wrong branch of the family.

After the death of Gilio Gallow Arina and Acno found a small farming community to live on she no longer felt worthy to be a guild master. Due to her title she was able to erase her own guild mark and she and her mate started over. It was too bad that they themselves wouldn't be able to have children, but they had decided that if the urge ever hit them they would just adopt. After all there were always children from bad homes needing new ones, or those who had lost their own families. Their options weren't completely lost.

Feeling guilty about her part in Lucy's death Arina stayed away from all news about magic, and both her and Acno made a vow to never use magic again. To them magic had just become too tainted to ever use again. Both of them had too much blood on their hands because of their magics nature, and decided it was best. The magical world and Fairy Tail never heard from the original ever again. Meaning she died believing that she had killed Lucy just like all the others.

Eventually Lucy's guild mates had went to move her body and discovered that she was still breathing. Even though Lucy's mind was conscious however she couldn't communicate with the outside world. She could hear everything and heard the diagnosis that she was in a coma after having used way to much magical power. She had completely drained her core and there was a chance that she would never fully gain consciousness again.

Her guild mates from both Mystic Sirdis and Fairy Tail were happy to find out that she wasn't dead, but they were unsure just how long it would take for her to wake up. As the years went by less and less people came to visit. Until only team Natsu, her daughter, and Levy came to talk to her. Everyone having given up hope that she would ever wake up.

Lucy tried to fight her hardest knowing that Natsu would be unable to reunite with his father until she awoke, but no matter how much she tried to push her magic to wake up it never worked. Even she was starting to give up hope. Now all she felt was guilt and in her mind it would have been better if she died that day. Instead she had given her family and friends reason to hope she would be among them once again, and then she slowly crushed that hope once again. Lucy prayed that her daughter and the next generation of Fairy Tail wouldn't face as much hardship as she and her guild mates had, and maybe one day she would wake up and be among them once again.

AN: I never quite knew how I was going to end Mystic Sirdis and at the moment I am unsure if I am going to write a sequel right away or not. Hopefully the muse will hit for it, but for now this is the end of the story, and hopefully I will be able to continue it in the future. If I do though it will most likely start with Akio's POV. Sorry if the ending disappoints people, but this is were my writing led me to.
