Chapter Two

Kagome didn't say anything as she sat by her Boss, Bruce Wayne, in a limo. She had no idea what to say. Everything was crazy.

There was no way she could be married.

There could be no way.

Sesshomaru was going to kill her...then bring her back and kill her again.

Oh, God. She really just wanted this to be a nightmare and wake up from it and go about her day as normal. She wanted to go to work, avoid most human interaction, then go home to her nice small apartment.

'Why does life hate me' Kagome thought as she glanced over at Bruce. He hadn't said anything since they left the hotel. They had been discreet when they left, and she was happy with that. Usually, Gotham found out things rather quickly when it came to their 'Playboy Millionaire'.

Kagome sighed as she saw the limo start to slow down and stop in front of Wayne Manor. She really hoped this would be a quick fix. She didn't want to be married to a playboy...she had her heart broken enough when she was with Inuyasha.

Sure, she was over Inuyasha now, but it didn't make what she went through any less hurtful.

The jewel had taken three, almost four years to finish. Kagome had been nineteen when she went back to her normal life. It had been hard to adjust to living in the Modern Era. She had been so used to Feudal Japan, that it took her months to get used to normal life.

Her family had been a great help...and so had Sesshomaru. He had shown up a month after she had come back to the well. It had surprised her that he would show up, but he had gotten to speaking terms with her in the past.

As the years went on the two go close since they were the last of their friends that were alive. As time went on he had helped her move to the states, study for her test in the medical field. Now at twenty-six, she could say that she was closed to Sesshomaru compared to other humans she had befriended.

Bruce shook her out of her thoughts by speaking, "Come. We will talk more in the study." Kagome nodded and followed silently.

She just wanted this day to be over.
