"Enma-nii, Tsuna-nii...sorry...and...also, thank...you..."

Enma's eyes shot open. His back straightened as he sat up, instinctively becoming tight and tense. His breathing was haggard and his face felt hot and sticky.

"Seems like I was dreaming about that day... Again." He sighed and shook his head, wishing the action might jar the memories lose from his mind. He laid back down on his pillow, turning his face towards the clock. His vision was a bit blurry, but he thought he could make out the numbers-

"10:13?! I'm going to be late!" He leaped out of bed and made a mad dash for the bathroom. He wouldn't have time for a bath, but maybe he could squeeze in a cold shower?

"ENMAAA!" The icy voice chilled his very blood. He froze mid-action, his whole body numb except for the tingling sensation of goosebumps.

Someone pounded on his bedroom door. "Enma, you better be up already!"

"Y-yes, of course I am, Adelheid!" Enma stuttered, sounding unconvincing even to himself. He began to slip quietly into his suite. I can't risk running the water - Adelheid has ears like a bat! If she finds out I overslept, I'm a goner!

"Enma," Adelheid said again, testing the door. Her boss could hear the knob rattling even from the bathroom. "Why is this door locked? What are you doing?"

"Just... Tidying myself up," Enma explained, running a brush through his hair. The red spikes refused to play dead, frizzling in response to their owner's rough tugs. "You know how self-conscience I get when you start grooming me."

Enma thought he heard his guardian snort. "If you weren't so sloppy, I wouldn't have to groom you."

There, done! Enma congratulated himself, setting down his various toiletries on the bathroom sink. He left the room and finally unbolted the door. Adelheid leaned against one of the wall's posts, her arms crossed just under her chest. He tried to wave a greeting, but she only glared in response.

"Do you have any idea what time it is?" The woman demanded. "Now we shall be late; we should have left for the Vongola's over twenty minutes ago!" Enma made a feeble nod, but didn't stop to hear the rest of Adelheid's reprimand. He headed for the front door, knowing his Ice Guardian would be right behind him.

A limousine sat parked in front of their mansion. The driver stood respectfully beside his car, opening the door and waiting for his boss to be comfortably situated before taking his own seat.

"The destination, Sir?"

"The Vongola House," Adelheid spoke curtly.

"Please," Enma added. The driver nodded.

"As you wish, Sir."

The key clicked in the ignition and in moments they were speeding down the street, heading swiftly in the direction of the Vongola Estate. Enma settled back in his seat, comfortable now that they were finally on their way.

I'm glad to be able to see you soon, Tsuna-kun, He thought quietly. I'll feel better once we've talked; I can't shake this feeling that... If we don't act, he will...

"JUUDAIME!"

"TSUNA!"

"BOSSU!"

"TSUNAYOSHI!"

"SAWADA!"

"TSUNA-NII!"

"HERBIVORE!"

The voices came from far away. Tsuna could hear his guardians' shouts, but only just. He could feel their hands as they gently held and touched him, wanting only to offer comfort and protection.

He wanted to reassure them, but his voice wouldn't work. He stared like a half-dead idiot, unable to react even to the pain wrecking his body. His brown eyes were locked on the man standing before him, a small part of his brain wondering if his mind were playing cruel tricks.

The man's blue hair was unusual, conspicuous due to its wild spikes. His face was incredibly pale and seemed partly frozen, as his eyes did not blink. Yet he was smiling, the gesture so natural and innocent, he would have appeared almost friendly if not for the gun he held, still poised at Tsuna's abdomen.

"Y-you..." Finally, he was able to speak. Though his question was not quite as brave as he might have wished.

"Good to see you again, Sawada-san," the gunman greeted cheerfully. "I suppose my coming here is quite a shock; you did not expect me to break out of your Zero Point Breakthrough, I imagine. It wasn't easy, I assure you. After ten long years, even I almost gave up." He smirked.

Tsuna said nothing. Gokudera didn't seem to hear the exchange. His attention was solely focused on his boss' wound, his eyes caught on the red stain growing on Tsuna's white shirt. Before Tsuna could realize what was happening, his Storm Guardian suddenly charged, wielding sticks of dynamite in either hand and screaming, "Teme! How dare you to do this to Juudaime!"

"Hayato, stop!"

Gokudera threw the bombs. Nothing happen...

"I..I cannot move!" The Storm Guardian shouted. Tsuna wanted to go to his friend, but his body was frozen as well.

Held motionless in the air, inches from the gunman's head, were six sticks of dynamite. They seemed stuck in time, as even their lite fuses, so close to being finished, had stopped, the tiny flames motionless.

The gunman was unfazed. He smiled at them all, as if their discomfort was a great amusement. "You did not tell them, Sawada-san? That was rather unkind of you. My dearest Vongola, I burn both the flames of Gravity and Illusions."

The guardians said nothing in response, though Tsuna wondered if that was because their mouths wouldn't respond. Certainly he had some choice words to say, if only he could move.

"I came here for a reason, " the gunman continued, strolling towards them. He stopped when he reached Tsuna.

"I came here for revenge, to slowly torture Sawada in front of you all, as punishment for interfering in my affairs ten years ago!"

"What are you babbling about?" Hibari demanded. Apparently, the Gravity Flames did not restrict him as it did the others. "Your profile is not on our records. I personally assign and check all missions that each member of our Family performs. I would have remembered you - such an annoying herbivore who hides behind his Flames deserves to be bitten to death."

The man's smile broadened. "Ah! A secret, how delicious. I thank you, Sawada-san, for keeping this a surprise. I suppose Kozato-san did the same?"

"How... Did you escape... Kei?!" Tsuna felt himself fading away. He had lost too much blood, he was going to black out - or worse - if he didn't receive help soon.

"You may have ruined my plans, but you still left me with plenty of tools." Kei answered carelessly. "Not quite as powerful as her, but still usable. Besides, no matter how long it took, my abilities made it inevitable."

"Tools...?" Tsuna repeated a cold edge to his voice. "You heartless beast..." Kei only laughed.

"Now now, Sawada-san," Kei spoke soothingly, daintily picking something off the floor. A shard of glass glittered in his hands. "There is no need to be rude." He scratched out an X on the boss' cheek.

The guardians gasped. "There, what lovely art!" Kei congratulated himself. "Hold this for me, will you?" He stuck the glass in Tsuna's left arm.

"Arrgh!" Tsuna screamed in pain. It was all too much... He couldn't hold on any longer... He didn't want to leave his guardians alone with that monster but... What could he do...?

His guardians were panicking. They screamed at him to stay awake, but their voices were just white noise. Their faces blurred under a cloud of growing shadows.

"JUUDAIME! Curse y-you... Kei!"

"TSUNA! Urgh, must... try to... m-move!"

"MOVE TO THE EXTREME!"

"Bossu!"

"Tsunaaaaa!"

"I'll bite him to death!"

"Kufufufu, I shall enjoy torturing you."

"I must say, Sawada-san, your guardians are somewhat... Disappointing. Pathetic, really." Kei picked another shard of glass off the floor, turning over the icicle-like piece in his hand. "Hm... Where shall I put this one?"

His hand hovered over Tsuna's body, trying to decide just where to strike. He played with Tsuna as if he were nothing but a voodoo doll, a toy made only for his own amusement.

But isn't that how he had always treated people? "Toys and tools", valuable only when they served his twisted purposes.

"Ah ha!" The shard stopped moving. The glass pointed straight at Tsuna's heart.

Kei gave a big smile.

A sinister one.

"I think this place suits the glass."

Tsuna gave up no resistance. I can't last... Much longer as it... is...

"NO!" His guardians screamed in unison.

I am sorry... Everyone...

Then the doors burst open.

"Dame-Tsuna!"

"Tsuna-kun!"

Too late... Goodnight, Alice...

So...How is it? Is it okay?
