The car soon pulled up to the backstage entrance. Clint started to undo his seatbelt. He shot Angela a puzzled look when she didn't move.

"I think it would be better if I walked. Someone may notice if I get out here." Angela then turned to the driver. "Can you drop me off about a block away?"

Clint nodded rather somberly. Was he nervous? She knew he was good at hiding his emotions but sometimes she swore she could read him like a book.

Clint opened the door and started to slide out.

"Wait!" Angela exclaimed.. She removed the sunglasses he had been wearing and slid them on. "It will be our little secret," she smiled slyly.

Clint leaned back in the car and kissed her. Too soon the car door closed and the driver was already pulling away from the outdoor amphitheater.

Angela was following the growing crowds on the streets heading toward the theater. She let them lead her not caring when she arrived. She already had a spot saved for her after all.

Angela smiled to herself. She was wearing the sunglasses of an Avenger! The funny part was that no one around her knew. She felt like she was apart of a secret.

As she got closer to the main entrance she could see security had been set up around a makeshift gate on the side. There were already several people with digital cameras and a few recorders in a line. They were all wearing passes similar to the one Angela had. Walking toward the small line, she pulled out the Press Pass badge.

When it was her turn she held it out toward the security guard who then scanned it. She watched as the scanner turned green. She started to walk forward but the guard put his hand out.

Before Angela could protest, the guard said, "Nice sunglasses."

"Thanks," she responded a little confused at first.

"Oh! You're…" she trailed off not needing to finish that sentence. "This must be one hell of a day for you guys."

He nodded before grunting at the next person in line. The guard took the badge and scanned it. Angela took that as her cue to move on. Following the seat assignment on the badge, Angela quickly sat down.

It was warm in the sun. The spring morning was quickly warming up. At one point she looked up at the sky wondering if the helicarrier was flying invisibly over head keeping an eye on things. It probably was.

No one spoke to her, which was a relief.

Time passed quickly enough and soon everyone walked on stage. First they Mayor and a several other official looking people. Then Natasha followed by Clint both in uniform. Finally a dark hair man that Angela had never seen before dressed in a button up shirt and khakis. She guessed that was the Hulk in human form.

Suddenly the sound of drums filled the air and everyone cheered. The lyrics to Back in Black started as Ironman flew in overhead and landed on the stage.

Tony Stark step out from behind the Ironman suit as he waived to the audience. He said a few words before sitting down.

The mayor stood behind the podium in the center of the stage. "Yes, thank you Mr. Stark," before launching into his speech.

After a minute the phone in Angela pocket buzzed. It was Clint. Where are you? I don't see you.

Shouldn't you be paying attention? Angela typed out. She watched Clint subtly look down at his phone after a few seconds.

He typed something out. A few second later her phone buzzed softly: Where's the fun in that?

Look left.

Angela watched Clint received the response and then look toward his left away from her.

Sorry. My left. Your right. She quickly responded.

She watched as he glanced down at his phone before looking toward her direction. It took him a minute but he finally picked her out from the rest of the crowd. They made eye contact and he grinned widely.

Found you. Her phone buzzed again.

He had typed it out with out looking. Angela wished she could do that. Instead she looked down and typed Stop grinning like a schoolboy. You'll give us away :-P

No one is watching me anyway

Angela watched as Natasha glanced over at Clint's phone and then elbowed him. She saw him grimace as he held back his own response.

Oh really? No one watching Angela held back a smile and typed out.

One of the reporters to her right must have seen her because he glanced at her direction. She slid her phone in her pocket feeling like a child being busted for something.

A few seconds later, her pocket buzzed faintly. Angela looked at Clint before minutely shaking her head. She glanced quickly at the reporter near her still watching her.

Clint nodded his head in response. They both turned their attention to the mayor who was just finishing his speech.

Time passed slowly as three more people spoke before Tony Stark stood up. After the usual Stark stuff, he made an announcement stating that there would be a second masquerade ball fundraiser to support the families of the cops who perished during the attack.

The first fundraiser had been shortly after the battle to raise money for the clean up of the city. It was pretty much that money that had gotten the city back on its feet.

Soon the ceremony ended with a flourish and people started to leave. Angela stood up not entirely sure where to go. Quickly enough the security guard who had scanned her badge found her and ushered her backstage discreetly.

Backstage, Natasha walked up to them. Her expression turned sour when she spotted the sunglasses that Angela had tucked on to the side of her purse.

"Clint," she said curtly.

"Natasha."

"Is everything okay between you two?" Angela asked. There was something different about the way they acted around. She just couldn't figure out what it was.

Clint leaned in and whispered in Angela's ear, "Tell you later."

"Yeah, we're fine," Natasha, replied while looking away. Angela could tell she wasn't paying attention. Angela followed her gaze as Captain America walked up. Oh hot damn.

She couldn't help herself. He was definitely way better looking in person than what showed on the TV. And he looked damn good on TV.

Captain America was wearing his blue stars and stripes uniform. The shield strapped to his back. Angela noticed that the suit brought out the blue in his eyes and his hair styled in an older fashion.

Captain America held out his hand and Angela shook it. "I'm Steve Rogers. I don't think we have met yet."

"No, we haven't. I am Angela," introducing herself.

Beside her Clint shifted his weight. She glanced at him. For a split second, he looked puzzled before resuming his normal demeanor. Internally Angela shrugged it off not sure what to make of it. She had a feeling she would learn later anyway.

"I never thought Clint would find himself a girl." Steve confessed

"Neither did we" Natasha admitted."You should have seen him the first day we found out!"

"Why? What did he do?" Angela asked curiously.

"He told everyone who was near that he had a date."

Angela raised an eyebrow glancing toward Clint.

"I did not!"

"Oh that's right, you sulked around as the rest of us spread the news around," Natasha said.

"I do not sulk." Clint retorted. "Besides I didn't spread the news around."

"Hang on a second!" Angela cut in. "If he didn't want you to know, then how did you guys find out about it in the first place?"

"She stole my phone," Clint responded glaring at Natasha. "Like she always does."

Natasha shrugged it off. "I wouldn't have had to if you told the rest of us what is going on inside your head. You know you have been too quiet since after…" She trailed off. Not needing to say the Chitari attack, it hung in the air. Luckily at that moment, Tony Stark walked up to the group.

He stuck his hand out to Angela, "Tony Stark, nice to finally meet you," giving Clint a very pointed look.

Angela shook his hand. "Angela," she said. "It is an honor to meet you! Is it true that you made an arc reactor that could power an entire skyscraper?"

"For a year," he stated.

"That's incredible!" Angela said. At that moment Clint's phone rang and he had to step away to answer it.

"Although I have to say I miss the new Stark phones. Those were always the coolest."

"That's now Pepper's department," Tony said pointing across the room toward a blonde woman who was having a conversation with a dark haired man.

"Her company actually," he added with a laugh. "You know, you all should come to my party tonight," Tony said. "Its low key."

"What?! Where?!" Steve said alarmed and looking around.

There was a moment of confusion until Angela figured it out.

"Captain, not Loki as in L-O-K-I but low key as in L-O-W space K-E-Y, meaning a small gathering or get together versus a huge party."

"Oh," said Steve embarrassed.

Angela forced herself not to laugh. Natasha smiled thinly but didn't laugh. Unfortunately Tony wasn't as kind.

"We… really… have to get… you… caught up on...the slang," Tony managed between breaths.

"What's going on?" Clint asked Angela walking back up to the group.

"We just got invited to a party tonight," Angela informed him.

The woman named Pepper called to Tony and he left group.

"Great," Clint deadpanned once Tony was out of range. "I can't wait."

"It could be worse." Steve said.

Natasha hit Clint on the back, " Yeah, we could always tell Angela more embarrassing stories about you."

Eyes narrowed he retorted, "You wouldn't."

Natasha didn't respond except to walk away, leaving Steve standing there awkwardly.

"Well, it was nice to meet you," he said to Angela before saying goodbye to Clint.

Angela turned to Clint, "Why don't you and I get out of here?"

"Please," Clint responded a little desperately. Angela laughed.
