Chapter 4: Training, the Secret and the Meeting

One Week Later

Naruto has taught Sakura and Sasuke for the last week in tree walking and started water walking. It took Sakura a two days to get tree walking down, so Naruto had her running up and down the tree to get her chakra reserves up. Sasuke was another story it took him almost five days to get tree walking down, mainly due to his higher chakra reserves compared to Sakura. After they both got tree walking down Naruto has them start on water walking to better their chakra control even further.

After the week Naruto trained the two Kakashi was finally able to help train them. Since Naruto already had them on water walking he had them continue it. Kakashi to say the least was surprised that Naruto taught them tree walking so fast and already had them on water walking. He made a mental note to talk to Naruto again about his training methods.

"Sensei how much longer do we have to spar on the water" Sakura said exhausted and panting.

"For once I agree with Sakura. We have been sparing for the last 2 hours and we are exhausted. We both got water walking down in record time and our chakra control has gone up tremendously. Can't we take a break for a few minutes?" Sasuke pants out between breaths.

"I suppose you two have worked hard and deserve a break. We will end training for the day early. You are right Sasuke it usually takes a week or more to learn water walking. You two learned tree and water walking in ten days. That is quite the accomplishment. However do not think that everything will come this easy because now that you have brought up your chakra control I will be teaching guys a new jutsu each."

"Really what jutsu are you going to teach us?" Sakura says exited having forgotten her exhaustion.

"You will find out tomorrow and you will each learn a different jutsu along with you elemental affinities."

"Finally you actually teach them something other than teamwork. You do realize the other teams have already learned the tree walking exercises. They also have great teamwork already to. Our team has a kunoichi that is just now talking her job seriously and a shinobi that is breaking out of his emo state. I agree teamwork is important but when we could not work together we would fall short in a fight. Know that Sasuke and I are friends and Sakura is being serious we are a complete team. I'm not saying this to piss anyone off but pointing out the fact that we need to train harder or we will fall behind. Yes I am at least chunin level in skill but without actual experience in a fight it's harder to get stronger. Know that we are a team we can gain that experience in a fight." Naruto finally saying something after coming back from his own private training.

Kakashi looks perplexed at Naruto for what he just said thinks 'He has a point I do need to start actually training them. I can have Naruto help since he got them to work together. I can't believe I let it go this far. If Naruto was not on the team they would not have made it past the Demon Brothers at the beginning of the mission. I have a feeling this mission gave them some much-needed experience. With the remaining time before Zabuza returns I will train them harder and they will be the best genin team when I'm done with them.' Kakashi looks at his three genin and says "From this point on training will be harder and you will probably hate me but you will be stronger than all the other genin. Before Zabuza returns you will be ready to fight. When this mission is over I'm going to be incorporating something new into our training. For now let's rest cause tomorrow you are in for a rough day."

The three genin seeing there sensei walk away run after him surprised at his sudden change. All three think 'finally he is getting serious.'

Next Day

The next day we find Team 7 training with Kakashi or in groups with a clone of Kakashi. Sasuke is with a clone of the Cyclops learning a new katon jutsu.

"Why can't I get the jutsu correct? I am doing everything you told me to and all I get is a small flame." Sasuke says a bit irritated about the jutsu progress.

"You need to put more chakra into it. You are putting about half the chakra output you need. Once you do that correctly the jutsu will be formed." Says Kakashi. 'I am amazed at the progress he is making in such a short time. At this rate I might just have to teach all of them two new jutsu.'

"Got it." 'Just add more chakra and I will get it down in no time.' Sasuke takes a step forward and does the hand signs fast "Katon: Karyūdan (Fire Style: Fire Dragon Bullet)" and after a deep breath fire in the form of a dragon shoots out. The fire dragon shoots toward a tree and upon contact the tree it gets incinerated to ash. Sasuke turns and looks to Kakashi who is eye smiling "I did it perfectly."

"Yes you did. Know you need to keep practicing it so you can do it faster and with less chakra. It's a B rank jutsu so it uses a lot of chakra. Also with more practice you can control it at will, however this is very difficult."

Sasuke continues to practice with the clone of Kakashi watching to make sure he does not overdo it.

With Sakura

Sakura is training with another clone of Kakashi who is teaching her a doton jutsu. Sakura remembers back about 2 hours ago when Kakashi gave them each a piece of chakra paper to test their chakra affinity.

Flashback: 2 hours ago

Team 7 has just gotten to a clearing when Kakashi turns around and hands them each a piece of chakra paper. "I want you to push your chakra into the paper and then we will see what elemental affinity you are. I'll tell you what each affinity does if it crinkles you have raiton, burns you have katon, turns to dust you have doton, wet you have suiton, and if it splits in half its futon. Know Sakura goes first then Sasuke and last will be Naruto."

Sakura adds chakra to the paper and at first nothing happens, but after a few seconds the paper turns to dust and disappears in the slight breeze. "That means I have a doton affinity then Kakashi sensei."

"Yes Sakura you have a doton affinity. Although it seems it's weak, but we can fix that by training. You are next Sasuke."

Sasuke looks at the paper and adds some chakra to the paper and immediately half the paper burns and the other half crinkles. "What I have two affinities! How is that possible?"

"It would seem you do have two affinities. It is not uncommon for a shinobi to have two affinities, however, the second does not usually show until chunin sometimes even jounin level. I will be able to train you in both elements along with yours Sakura. Naruto it's your turn now."

Naruto looks at the chakra paper and then to Kakashi. "I already know my affinities. Do I really need to do this?"

"Yes I would like you to do this just in case there is something new and so I can see for myself." Kakashi says with an eye smile."

"Fine I will do it." Naruto adds chakra to the paper and it splits six ways. One part burns, the next crinkled, one was wet, another turned to dust, and the last two glowed a white and the other black color.

Everyone is shocked to see what happened to the paper including Naruto. Sasuke and Sakura look at Naruto in shock and think 'Now I know why he is so secretive/How is that even possible?'

Kakashi looks at Naruto in utter shock and surprise at happened with the chakra paper 'The look on Naruto's face tells me something new happened. I guess what Hokage-sama told me about Naruto having all the elements is true. What are the other two elements that appeared though? I have never seen or heard of anything like this before. I will have to report to Sarutobi about this before something bad happens.' "Naruto is something wrong? The way you reacted, something was wrong when you seen the chakra paper."

Naruto looks at Kakashi and immediately composes himself before saying "Nothing is wrong. It is just always a surprise to see what the chakra paper does when I add chakra." Naruto is really thinking 'What was the two new elements added. Kyuubi do you have any idea what that was. Kakashi is probably going to have me try again to see if that was real.'

"I do, but we will talk about it later just play it off as you know. We will talk about it when you are by yourself" the Kyuubi says tiredly.

"I figured you would know. Fine we will talk later." Naruto drops the connection.

"If you don't mind can you add chakra to this chakra paper and see if the same thing happens." The Cyclops says hopeful.

"I suppose I can, but it's going to do the same thing. There all my affinities."

"Then what were the white and black glowing elements."

Naruto just sighs "That is a secret that I am not willing to reveal at the moment."

"I suppose you have the right to have secrets." 'I am really going to have to report this.' the cycloptic jounin thinks before making shadow clones and telling team 7 they will each take a clone to train.

Flashback: End

Sakura shaking her head and focusing on the jutsu she is learning shouts "Doton: Doryūsō (Earth Style: Earth Flow Spears)" and small protrusions come out of the ground. "What am I still doing wrong sensei?" she says frustrated that she still can't get the jutsu to work properly.

"You need to focus more. Since your affinity is not completely developed, you need to concentrate more. In the long run when you get your affinity fully developed you will be able to use your jutsu with less chakra. You just need to practice more and you will get it down." the Cyclops says to the frustrated pink haired girl.

"Why is my element not fully developed."

"Well to tell you the truth it is due to you not training before now. If you had trained like the others then you would have had higher chakra reserves and your affinity would be developed. Don't worry you will catch up soon."

"I understand. It's my fault and now I am paying for it. I will catch up and not let my team down." the young pink haired girl says with fire in her eyes.

Kakashi eye smiles at Sakura 'It seems she is actually going to take this seriously. Ever since Naruto got the team to work together she has straightened out. This team will go far if they keep this up. I'm just worried about Naruto. He seems to go back and forth between a relaxed attitude and a cold attitude. I just hope it doesn't get in the way of the team.' After breaking out of his thought Kakashi sits down and watches Sakura's progress.

With Naruto

The real Kakashi is training Naruto in a futon jutsu. Naruto is currently concentrating and after a few seconds says "Fūton: Atsugai (Wind Style: Pressure Damage)" holding the ram hand seal. A small extremely compressed ball of wind is launched at a tree and explodes in a blast of wind. When the dust clears the tree is completely gone except for a small stump. There were no chunks or splinters of wood the tree was just gone.

"How did you… how did you do that not only on the first try but it was perfectly executed." Kakashi says extremely befuddled.

"Well that was why I was concentrating for one and it was not perfect. That was a small version of what it can do." Naruto says a little too nonchalantly.

"Either way you would have to have a lot of control of wind manipulation to do it on that level. It's only a B rank jutsu but you made it an A rank jutsu with the power it had in such a small form. The jutsu does not completely obliterate a tree with no trace. Normally it would turn it to splinters. Plus with mastery over wind manipulation it can be used on a bigger scale. I figured you knew wind manipulation to a certain degree seeing how you are chunin level, but you just did something no one has been able to with the jutsu." In a serious tone the cycloptic jounin talks to Naruto.

"I have mastered wind manipulation but not my other affinities, there close but still not perfect. As for what I did with the jutsu, all I did was compress more energy into the ball and made it twice as dense. From what you originally explained to me of the jutsu before training it was a super compressed dense ball of wind. So I compressed as much as possible while adding more energy to it making it spin faster, twice as dense and having more power in it than normal. I wanted to see what I could do with my mastery of wind."

"So you used what I told you and made it stronger. From what you said and what I seen I would say it's an S rank jutsu instead of an A rank. The reason being if that were to hit someone there would be nothing left. You have made the jutsu an assassination jutsu. Using it would be quick and effective, but it seems you would be the only one able to use it right now." Kakashi says astounded that Naruto not only did the jutsu on the first try, but made even more powerful.

Naruto just smirks and says "I suppose I should continue practicing the jutsu, but less powerful so I don't destroy the forest."

"Actually I would like to teach you a different jutsu. It seems you have that jutsu down and you can practice it more later if you want. Are you able to use a katana and can you manipulate your affinities into a weapon."

Naruto pulls out a scroll and unseals a Katana. He puts the scroll away and pulls the katana out of the sheath. The blade is dark black with a thin line of red down the middle, the handle is wrapped in black and red cloth with a blood-red stone inlaid on both sides of the handle as well as the pommel. The blade seems to have a slight red glow to it. "I do in fact have a katana and I can manipulate my affinities into it."

"Were did you get that from. It looks exactly like Kushina's katana. It even has that glow to it." The shocked jounin says.

"I found it exploring an abandoned training field on the outskirts of the village. Did you just say it was Kushina's katana, as in Kushina Uzumaki?"

"Yes, Kushina Uzumaki. It looks exactly like hers. Come to think of it we never did find it that night."

"You mean the night of the Kyuubi attack. The night my parents saved the village and sealed the Kyuubi in me. This is my mom's katana." Naruto says in a cold tone leaking KI at Kakashi.

"How do you know that and were exactly did you find the katana. Yes they are your parents and that is your mom's katana." Kakashi says sweating a bit.

"Like I said it was an abandoned training field and I do not remember where. I also know because the Kyuubi told me who my parents were. I however did not know that I had my mom's katana this whole time." Naruto says a little calmer than before.

"I want to ask about the Kyuubi, but know it is not the time or place for it. The Katana is in fact your mothers and it is special or so Kushina said. She never told anyone what made it special only that it was. You will have to find out for yourself why, I suspect it has to do with in part to the glow it gives off. Know then let's get back to training. I will be teaching you the Raiton: Rairyu no Tatsumaki (Lightning Release: Lightning Dragon Tornado) jutsu. This jutsu requires a katana and very good raiton manipulation. First gather raiton chakra in your katana and manipulate it into a swirling vortex. Once that is done send it at your opponent and it will take the form of a dragon. Although I cannot show you at the moment."

"Why can you not show me?" Naruto says a little irritated.

"I would but I do not have a katana or Ninjato on me at the moment." Kakashi says while Naruto sweat drops.

"Oh well I guess I have to learn as I go since you did not come prepared." Naruto says even more irritated. Naruto starts channeling raiton chakra to his katana and trying to manipulate it into a vortex, but does not seem to do anything. All of a sudden a medium-sized vortex appears and Naruto says "Raiton: Rairyu no Tatsumaki" and a howling wind comes out of no where and a lightning dragon forms. The yellow beady eyes glare down at Kakashi who is surprised at how big the dragon is and that the jutsu is strong enough to start a thunder-storm.

"Naruto how did you get the dragon that big and are you able to control the storm at all." Kakashi says still surprised but is inwardly freaking out. 'Not even Raiga was able to do this with his Kibas. How is Naruto able to manipulate the raiton chakra to this level and form a thunder-storm in the first place? He is increasingly worrying me. I must report all of this to Hokage-Sama.'

Naruto stops the flow of chakra to the jutsu and the lightning dragon fades away and the thunder-storm slowly fades. Looking to his sensei "Is the jutsu not supposed to look like that. All I did was do as you said and created the lightning dragon. I could control the storm to do what I wanted with my chakra. So theoretically I could strike with lightning and powerful blasts of wind if I wanted." Naruto says a little confused.

"The jutsu was only supposed to be a lightning dragon about half that size normally. You did this with what I said. That is astonishing and you were able to control the storm completely. Did you try to make it more powerful like you did to the futon jutsu earlier."

"I was trying to manipulate the raiton chakra and for the few moments it seemed it was not working I tried harder and added a bit more chakra. Maybe that had something to do with it or it could be something with the katana itself."

"Whatever you did the jutsu is not only stronger but on a whole other scale like what you did with the futon jutsu. I would say this jutsu was already an A rank but you definitely made yet another S rank Jutsu. I rank it S because not only is it bigger and harder to dodge, but you can manipulate the storm to strike them with lightning or blow them around with the wind. You can then strike with the lightning dragon after if you have not already in the process." Kakashi says with an eye smile but inwardly he is sweating. 'Not only did I teach him two strong jutsu but he turned them into S rank jutsu. Know he has two powerful jutsu under his belt. Hokage-Sama is going to be furious. I have to end training with him for the day before he does something else extraordinary seemingly on accident.'

"Why don't you take a break Naruto and we will get lunch. Let's go get the other two." the Cyclops says.

20 Minutes later

We find Team Seven eating inside with Tsunami and Inari.

"Wow Tsunami these sandwiches are amazing" an ecstatic Naruto says.

Tsunami just smiles and says "Thank you Naruto."

They all continue to eat and Naruto gets up to help Tsunami clean up after lunch. They talk for a while again and Naruto soon says "It was nice talking to you again Tsunami, but I have to get back to training."

"It was nice talking to you to, have fun training." Tsunami says with a smile.

Naruto walks into the living room and says "I'm going back out to train privately and won't be back for a while." Naruto walks out the front door and closes it behind him.

"Kakashi while he is gone train me and Sakura more. We need to train harder so we don't let Naruto down. If it was not for him I would still be brooding and not see the dark path I was heading down, but he saved me and the least I can do is train harder. I want to be as strong as Naruto and surpass him to obtain my goals." Sasuke says jumping off the coach with fire in his eyes.

"Yeah Sasuke is right we need to train harder. I want to be just as strong as my team so I'm not a hindrance anymore." Sakura says with excitement.

"Kakashi eye smiles at his genin and says "let's go train more, but remember you asked for it. I'm going to be tougher on you than I ever have."

Kakashi walks out the door with both genin behind him with a smile on his face, not that you could actually see it because of his mask.

With Naruto

Naruto is in a small clearing meditating. He is really in his mindscape talking to the kyuubi.

"So how is it I have these new elements and what are they." Naruto says in a serious tone.

"You seem to have unlocked Yin and Yang chakra. Yin is ones spiritual energy and Yang is ones physical energy. Yin can create anything from nothing and Yang has the power to give life. How you got Yin and Yang release is beyond me. You don't have the rinnegan as far as I can tell, so it must be something else." The Kyuubi says in a serious tone.

"You have told me of the rinnegan before. They were the eyes that the Rikudo Sennin had. He used his Yin-Yang release to create the bijuu from the juubi's chakra."

"Yes he did have the rinnegan and used Yin-Yang release to create the bijuu. The rinnegan was extremely powerful, but I don't know the full extent of its power and neither did the Rikudo Sennin. Anyway I will teach you how to manipulate Yin and Yang and to combine them. The training is very hard and is very chakra consuming even for someone with as much chakra as you. Once you learn how to use it and practice it will use less chakra, but it is still a chakra drainer. A normal shinobi with jounin level reserves would barely be able to create something as simple as a kunai, that's how much chakra it uses. For you once you have practiced enough you should be able to use the combined yin-yang release 3 times before you feel chakra exhaustion. Although once you have mastered it you should be able to use it limitlessly to a certain degree. We will get more into it when you have mastered it." Kyuubi said in a stern and serious tone to get its point across.

"When will you start training me and I promise I won't go overboard like last time you taught me something new. Anyway I want to train myself first then you teach me Yin and Yang release later." Naruto says in a monotone voice. Naruto just hears the kyuubi sigh and break the connection.

Naruto stands up from meditating and makes a 100 clones to spare with. "I want all of you to come at me with the intent to kill." Naruto says in a cold tone getting into his stance. The blonde sees one of the clones come at him with katana drawn and goes for a slash across the chest but the blonde jumps over the clone and brutally kicks it in the head watching it poof into a cloud of smoke. Naruto lands on the ground and looks at the rest of the clones.

The clones look at each other and know that their creator is serious. They all rush at their creator and try to attack, but the blonde dodges or hits one and makes it disappear.

Naruto jumps back and away from the clones seeing there is only about 40 or so left. Naruto smirks and pulls out his katana. A lighting vortex soon appears and the smirking blonde says "Raiton: Rairyu no Tatsumaki." A lightning dragon forms along with a strong storm.

The clones quickly realize what is going on and jump out of the way but the lightning dragon hit the unfortunate few clones that did not move fast enough. Two clones quickly rush the blonde but get struck by lightning and poof away. Three more clones try to attack but get struck again.

The blonde spins around at the last second and punches one of the clones and it poofs away, but Naruto still gets hit in the gut by the other clone that appeared behind him. Flying into a tree and through it into the next one Naruto pulls himself out and disappears into the tree tops. Realizing his raiton jutsu has dissipated he goes through hand signs at a blurring speed and says "Katon: Hōsenka no Jutsu (Fire Style: Phoenix Flower Jutsu)". Breathing in and blowing out 10 medium-sized fire balls at the remaining clones.

The clones in the small open field see fireballs coming from the trees and try to dodge but a few get hit that were looking in the opposite direction. The remaining clones turn to see their creator jump down with a smirk still on his face.

Naruto sees there is only 5 clones left and rushes them with his katana at the ready and quickly hits 2 hearing the poof and spins around to block a slash from one of the clones and drops into a leg sweep knocking the clone over and quickly punching it in the face. The blonde jumps up and spins in the air coming up and slashes the 2 remaining clones. Landing on the ground Naruto slowly starts to pant. Catching his breath he uses the familiar cross sign and another 100 clones appear. "Again come at me with the intent to kill." Naruto says in a cold voice.

Night time: In the field

A person with long black hair wearing a blue kimono is seen picking herbs. The person sees someone laying in the field. Looking around noticing some of the trees are cut or destroyed and the ground is black in some spots. The person walks up to the person laying in the field and is about to wake them up when a hand shoots up and grabs her wrist.

"Why would you wake a sleeping shinobi? You never know what they will do when startled from their sleep. Luckily I sensed you before you came into the field. So who are you." The shinobi says in a lecturing tone.

"Sorry I did not mean to startle you. I just wanted to see if you were ok. The field looks like there was a fight. Oh my name is Haku. What is your name?" the now named Haku says a little shyly.

"It's ok you did not know. There was not a fight I was training and must have fallen asleep. My name is Naruto Uzumaki." Naruto says with a fox-like grin on his face.

"Oh so you were training. Do you have something or someone to train for?"

"I train to protect the people close to me, so they don't have to get hurt. What are you picking herbs for?" Naruto asks noticing the basket of herbs at her side.

"They are for someone who is precious to me. Just like you I want to protect the people close to me."

"That's nice to hear Haku." Naruto getting up then says "Can you tell Zabuza something for me." With that fox-like grin Naruto looks at Haku who is shocked.

"Ho… how did you know?" Haku says breaking out of her shocked state.

Still with the grin the blonde says "I can smell the same scent from when Zabuza attacked before and I can sense your chakra is the same as the hunter-nin's that took him away. Don't worry I don't want to fight. I just want you to give this to Zabuza and if he accepts then meet me at the bridge when he is healed." Naruto says walking away before saying "Bye Haku-chan." Still with his fox grin.

"I'll hive this to Zabuza and tell him." Haku says, but realizes the last comment and shouts "I'm not a girl."

Naruto turns around and smirks "You really can't fool me Haku-chan. I can smell your pheromones and tell your gender." The blonde finally walks out of the field and disappears.

"I guess I can't hide it from him. He is different somehow. I wonder what he wants with Zabuza." Haku says to herself looking at the scroll. She walks out of the field and leaves to go give the scroll to Zabuza.

A/N

Sorry about having such a late chapter. I know I said I would post the new chapter about 2 weeks after the last A/N, but some things out of my hands happened. My Grandma died then my Aunt died and a bunch of family problems came right after. When all this happened I was just not in the mood to write. I am back and will never abandon my story. Updates will be about every 2 weeks or so, but chapter five will be a little longer because of finals next week and college stuff. Thank you for those that have stayed with my story and for the reviews. The reviews are what actually sparked my interest to write again otherwise it would have been till summer that the next chapter would be out. So thank you once again for the reviews they really helped. The first three chapters have been edited and fixed. if you have not reread them you probably should a few things have changed.
