Chapter 18 Good Ending

*Official ending is Chapter 17 Happy ending!

I was replaying Kakeru's epilogue and I found out that Meguru was missing O_O Where did Meguru go or what happened to him!? I played Meguru's route and he was so cute, and sweet, so I would recommend him if you're unsure of buying him or not. Well I've got reading week this week so yea, I got time to do my assignments and update. It was pretty funny, when I was in class and my friends phone wallpaper was Shiki, and mines was Kakeru.

His face looks peaceful now... His breaths become deep and even again, his arms still firmly around me. Sting... I touch his hair gently so as not to wake him. His beautiful hair is soft and silky. I gently brush his hair away from his face and gaze at his peaceful expression. I want to be with you always... Because I love you, Sting... Wrapped up in Sting's warmth. I begin to doze off. My eyelids grow heavy as I gaze into his face.

"I'm back... Princess..." Sting says with a soft quiet voice.

I hear him calling me as I slip deeper into sleep...

Chapter 18 Good Ending

~Lucy's P.O.V~

You may skip this part, since it's the same as the Happy ending. I'll write end when this part is done from the happy ending.

Begining

Father has recovered from his illness and Sting's finally able to move on his own. A festival is being held to formally introduce me to the citizens of Fiore.

"I am terribly sorry I worried all of you with my illness. Forgive me, but I am fully recovered thanks to all of your support and encouragement, thank you." My father says.

"Long live the king!" Cheers the citizens.

The citizens wave the imperial flag and erupt into applauses. Everyone is truly happy that their King has recovered.

"In addition, I want to apologize for not being able to introduce her sooner. I now present to you my daughter, the sole heir to the throne of the kingdom of Fiore. Princess Lucy." My father says to the citizens introducing me to them.

Father beckons me to stand before the citizens and I am enveloped in cheers.

"She's so beautiful! Princess Lucy!" One of the citizens call out to me.

"Come, Lucy. Say something to your people." My father tells me.

"Yes. Father." I say.

This is the first time I've ever given a speech in front of so many people. I nervously glance behind me at the knights, but they all smile and give me reassuring nods. Thank you, everyone... I take a deep breath trying to calm my racing heartbeat.

"People of Fiore. I humbly thank you for your concern over my father's illness. From now on, together with my father, I shall devote myself to encouraging the peace and prosperity of the Kingdom of Fiore." I say to the citizens.

"Long live Princess Lucy! Long live the Kingdom of Fiore!" The citizens yell out.

"My people, thank you for bestowing your blessings upon my daughter. Now I shall introduce the knights who saved my life." My father says.

Father beckons the knights over to stand before him.

"They undertook a dangerous task, searching many days for the doctor who saved my life. I would not be here today if not for these brave knights. You are the pride of the King, no, the entire country of Fiore. I thank you from the bottom of my heart." The Kings says to the knights.

"We are undeserving of Your Majesty's praise. We shall continue to devote ourselves of serving His Majesty the King and the Kingdom of Fiore." Rufus says.

The knights simultaneously place one hand over their hearts and bow their heads.

"And Sir Sting, who risked his life to save my precious daughter." My father says to Sting.

"Yes, Your Majesty." Sting says.

"I bestow upon you the greatest honor a knight of this Kingdom may receive." My father says to Sting.

"Words cannot express my happiness. Your Majesty." Sting says to my father with a smile.

"Come, Sting..." I say over to him.

Sting kneels before me and respectfully accepts the medal I gave him. Then he gently kisses my hand.

"Sting, thank you so much. If not for you, I wouldn't be here today." I say to Sting smiling.

"I am honored my Princess. No matter what happens in the future I shall always save you, So please allow me to continue protecting Your Royal Highness." Sting says smiling back at me.

"Of Course." I say happily.

We both smile warmly at each other. Just then, I feel him put something in the palm of my hand.

"Hm?" I look at him.

"..." Sting says nothing and just smiles.

Sting smiles as if nothing's happened, and cheers erupts from the crowd.

"Our knight, Sir Sting! You are the pride of this country! Sir Sting!" Shouts the crowd.

"Thank you everyone. I live to serve the Kingdom of Fiore." Sting says to the citizens.

Sting gives a dignified smile as the crowd praises him. He looks so valiant, so handsome that I have to look away in embarrassment. What was it that Sting gave me anyway? I want to look at it right now... I squeeze the mysterious object in my hand and gaze at Sting barely able to contain myself. We're whisked away from the balcony to the party in the castle ballroom.

"Everyone have a splendid time tonight!" The kings tells everyone.

The party begins with a splendid performance by the orchestra. Everyone is treated to food and drinks, and some are dancing happily. I want to know what he put in my hand.. But I'm surrounded by the knights, so I don't have the chance to look.

"Lucy, would you like some more champagne?" Gray asks me.

"Sorry, I don't care for anymore.." I answer Gray.

"Can Your Highness not drink much?" Sting asks me.

"N-No I can't..." I say to Sting.

I actually love alcohol, but I guess a princess shouldn't be a heavy drinker...

"What are you trying to act all cutesy about?" Natsu says to me.

"Ow! Natsu! Stop hitting me like that!" I say Natsu.

I act like I'm going to him back, but remember the something in my hand, so I stop.

"Sting, don't let this one fool you. She acts like she can't drink, but she could drink any of us under the table and not get drunk!" Natsu says to Sting.

"That's an interesting fact about our Princess. Hmm?" Sting says looking at me smiling.

Sting chuckles.

"Natsu!" I say his name.

He didn't have to give it away!

"Looks like you're becoming more like a princess huh?" Rouge says.

"Really? Great!" I say happily.

"Only, because of the dress." Rouge then adds in.

"..."

Sigh. Rouge's always like this..

"R-Rufus, do you think I'm becoming more princess-like? Even a little bit?" I ask Rufus.

"..." Rufus says nothing.

"...: Rufus is not even answering me.

I guess I should try harder with my princess training...

"Hey, why do you keep squeezing your hand like that Lucy? You wanna punch me or something?" Natsu suddenly asks me.

"..! N-No! It's nothing!" I say.

I turn my back on the knights. Ugh, I can't stand it anymore... I stealthily open my right hand and see a folded up note inside of it. I'll be waiting at our special place!" I turn around and look at Sting in surprise. Sting places a finger against his lips, so the others can't see, telling me to keep quiet. At last, I manage to sneak out of the party. I climb up the stairs and find Gray leaning up against the wall.

"Where ya going?" Gray asks me.

"Gray.." I say his name.

I'm thinking of what I can say to explain it to him when...

"Princess! Where are you? Priiiiiiiiincesss!" Laxus shouts out.

"Oh! That's Laxus!" I say in shock.

"Lucy, over here!" Gray says.

Gray pulls my hand and hides me in the shadows.

"Gray, have you seen the princess?" Laxus asks.

"She just returned to the ballroom." Gray tells Laxus.

"Oh! Thanks!" Laxus thanks Gray.

Gray.. Laxus hurries back down the stairs.

"You can come out now Lucy." Gray says to me.

"Gray, you..." I say smiling and then Gray cuts me off.

He grins and then interrupts me.

"You should hurry up now, See ya." Gray says to me.

"Gray... Thank you for everything." I say smiling at him.

"I don't know what you mean?" Gray says innocently.

Gray feigns ignorance and smiles back at me, then I run off to meet Sting.

End of the same scene from the Happy ending.

Where did Sting go? I walk down the hallway when suddenly...

"Princess." I voice calls out to me.

I stop when I hear someone's voice behind me.

"Sting! Here you are." I say smiling at him.

"I was waiting for you to come, Princess. This way." Sting says to me with a smile.

Sting opens the door to my room. We watch the party from my window.

"How are you feeling?" I ask Sting.

"Much better, thanks to you. See? Look." Sting says showing me.

He flexes his arms with a smile.

"I recovered so quickly, because you nursed me back to health." Sting says smiling at me.

"Dr. Makrov told me... that any other person would have died of the wounds you sustained, but your will to live was too strong." I tell Sting.

"My will to live... He is probably right." Sting says to me.

Sting gazes quietly out the window.

"Up until I got hurt, I thought just protecting you would satisfy me." Sting tells me.

"Even if it meant giving up your life?" I ask.

"Right, because that's the only life I knew, but..." Sting says explaining.

Sting faces me and his eyes crinkle into a smile.

"You taught me there's another path. To live to protect you." Sting continues.

"Sting.." I say his name gently.

"If I were to leave this world, who would protect you?" Sting says smiling at me.

He peers at my face mischievously and i can't help, but laugh.

"You're right. I'll get in trouble without you by my side protecting me." I say to Sting smiling.

"The princess I serve has very high standards." Sting says with a smile.

"Hey, you said it first!" I say smiling back.

Both of us laugh together when..

"And now for a speech from Princess Lucy.." The chairman announces.

"What? Me?" I say in surprise.

"That's what it sounded like." Sting says to me.

The chairman's voice reverberates through the palace speakers and Sting and I look at each other.

"Princess? Princess Lucy?" The chairman says again.

I can hear a voice whispering I can't find her" over the speakers.

"O-Oh no! I totally forgot they asked me during the festival to make a speech tonight." I say.

"What an absentminded Princess..." Sting says to me smiling.

"Where's the princess!?" Asks the chairman.

"Search the castle for her!" The servant says.

"Fwo ho ho ho! Now, now. I'm sure she's fine." My father says.

"Oh! That's Father's voice! What should I do? Everyone's panicking..." I say.

"If they find out we're in here together it'll cause quite a stir..." Sting says.

I want to stay with Sting, but I have my duties as a princess... Disappointed I bow my head to Sting.

"Sting, I'm sorry. I shouldreally go.." I say sadly to Sting.

"Princess.." Sting says my name.

I begin to walk away from the window to return to the party when he suddenly grabs my arm.

"What?" I say in confusion.

"I know your duties as the Princess are important, but I..." Sting starts saying.

Sting says and then turns off the speakers.

"I don't want you to go right now." Sting says to me smiling.

"What..? I say still a little confused.

"This is my final selfish request.." Sting says.

"Final..?" I say still confused.

Sting is smiling, but he nods sadly. Why does he look like that? What does he mean final?

TMP TMP TMP

"Princess! Princess Lucy!" A servant calls out to me.

I hear footsteps running down the hallway as people search for me.

"Over here Princess." Sting says to me taking me by the hand.

Sting pulls me by the hand.. and both of us hide behind the curtains.

"U-Um, Sting.." I say.

"They won't find us here right?" Sting asks.

I can barely breath as Sting embraces me.

TMP TMP TMP

"Princess, are you in here?" A servant says.

"!" Oh no, she's coming inside the room.

"..." Sting keeps quiet.

I look up at Sting and he hugs me even tighter.

*Click*

We hear the servant opening my door.

"Excuse me! Princess, are you here?" The servant asks.

"Milady Lucy, Just hang on.." Sting whispers to me.

I nod slightly and Sting makes me burry my face in his chest. I don't know if my heart is racing, because of Sting or because of the servants beyond the curtain...

"That's odd... she's not in her room either!" The servant says.

"I wonder where Her Highness is!?" Says another servant.

Unable to believe they didn't find us, Sting and I both quietly chuckle..

"Haha.." I suddenly laugh quietly.

"You're just right here..." Sting whispers also laughing along with me quietly.

We huddle closer together behind the curtain and hold each other. Wrapped up in Sting's warmth, my pulse slowly returns to normal. Being in his arms like this feels so good... So warm.. I wish time could stop.. I put my arms around Sting's neck and press my body up against his even more. I love Sting. I can't stop my feelings for him any longer. I inhale his scent as I burry my face against his shirt until we finally hear the servants leave.

"Looks like they're gone." Sting says.

"You saved me again, Sting." I say smiling at him.

"That is my job." Sting says smiling.

We exchange glances and laugh. Even though there's no reason to hide anymore we're still embracing behind the curtain.

"..." Sting says nothing.

Sting gazes at me and runs his fingers through my hair.

"I wanted you all to myself.." Sting says with a smile on his face.

"Sting.." I say his name gently and smiling at him.

"Will you just belong only to me right now Milady Lucy?" Sting asks me.

"Yes.. Of course, now and forever... I belong to you Sting..." I say smiling happily.

His fingers stop stroking my hair. He quietly shakes his head.

"Tomorrow I'll return to being your knight who protects you." Sting says.

Does that mean..

"But, we.." I say.

"In order to stay by your side as a knight, we cannot stay like this forever.. I chose the path to protect you as your knight." Sting explains.

"Sting.." I call out his name quietly.

"But right now. I want to forget all about our social positions and just be with you." Sting says.

"..." What should I say?

"I know what I'm saying is selfish, but please just for now.." Sting says looking at me.

Sting gazes at me steadily the brings his face close to mine and kisses me. When I feel his soft, warm lips on mine. I just want to close my eyes like this forever. Tomorrow we go back to being a princess and a knight... But at least we can still always be together... If he will protect me as a knight, than as the princess I want to give him all the support I can. I feel a slight pain in my chest. I engrave Sting's scent and his warmth into my heart, so I can always remember this moment I share with him...

Good Ending

I don't really like this ending, since it seems a little sad. Anyways I just posted it, since it's part of the main story's ending. I like the happy ending better. Well when I write Haku and Shion's route I will write the Good ending as well, though the good ending is not going to be the official ending. lol. Epilolgue's will be up when I'm done writing Haku and Shion's route the reason is... I'll just say it some other time since yea. Sorry!
