So basically this is gonna be set after TDK, and I'm just gonna act like TDKR didn't happen. I just saw Man of Steel and figured I should get this out there while it's still fresh in my mind…

It wasn't hard for the World's Greatest Detective to discover the identity of the famous Man of Steel. It's not like Clark Kent did a very good job tying up loose ends and concealing his past. In fact, to put it truthfully, he did a pretty crappy job.

Bruce Wayne had access to anything he wanted. Anything that had been recorded on some sort of electronic device and then saved through a satellite, he had access to. It wasn't hard then, video footage showed the Man of Steel's visit to the military base. Kansas is only so big.

Online newspaper articles showed the Smallville bus that had been miraculously saved. Records of an angel appearing from the flames of a burning oil rig. Countless other encounters and incidents, and if Lois Lane could figure it out, then the Dark Knight himself could do it easily.

But this knowledge was only in preparation, because the Goddamn Batman wasn't going to go out and find this alien. He had a city to protect and he didn't need some Kansas farm boy with more power than he knew how to handle coming in and destroying half of Gotham. It was no secret that the little incident a few months ago had almost leveled Metropolis; after all it was Bruce Wayne who had donated heavily to the reconstruction teams and relief efforts.

The dark vigilante knew all about Superman's enemy, he had seen the military's records and data in regards to the aliens. He had seen that the military did indeed know how to take down the Man of Steel, but he had also seen that the military had no way of using this knowledge.

Bruce Wayne considered himself to be more intelligent in some aspects than the US Military, after all he was the World's Greatest Detective, and he knew that there had to be a way to manipulate the atmospheric pressure and climate without changing the whole coding of a planet.

And unlike the military, Bruce Wayne had recordings of the changed atmosphere from when earth had been attacked. And unlike the military, Bruce Wayne knew what to do with this data.

Because unlike the military, Bruce Wayne was gaining knowledge on a type of rare stone called kryptonite.

A stone that didn't exist until the explosion of a planet.

Until the destruction of Krypton.
