So, hey guys. (laughs nervously) It's been awhile. And I'm sorry. I think I drifted off because until I freely wrote this chapter without really thinking about it I had no idea how to continue this story or how to even end it.
So, for you guys that just got this notification let me remind you that we are in the part of the story where Sasuke just killed Itachi, the Leaf found the word traitor (written in blood I might add) on a rock, and Sasuke finally kissed Sakura before he left to kill Itachi once and for all. Tobi and Zetsu then took Sasuke, Sakura and Suigetsu to their hideout and Tobi is telling Sasuke the truth about Itachi. Tobi we found out last chapter knows all about Sakura and her fake rebel against the Leaf and is in fact the one who wrote traitor on that rock.
Thanks for your patience, your reviews, favorites, and follows.
This is a bit short... sorry for the disappointment but since I only figured out how I would like this story to continue I needed a short chapter to kinda dive in and think about what's gonna happen next!
There will be updates to come! Faster than this one :) And also longer than this one :)
Sasuke sat in silence. He was surrounded by the cold atmosphere of the underground hideout. He fiddled with his fingers for about an hour and then tried to preoccupy his time with cleaning his kunais and then sharpening them. But he could not get Itachi out of his head. Tobi had asked the one question that truly stumped Sasuke. "What would you do?" To be honest he did not know. He left that village and Tobi asked if he would save it and destroy his life for it? Sasuke thought about what an awful choice Itachi had to make and in a way Sasuke could see the reasoning behind it.
But just because Sasuke say Itachi's reasoning did not mean he agreed with it.
Sasuke took into consideration that Itachi grew up differently than he did. Itachi had a loving family, clan, a village that supported him, and a selfless attitude. Sasuke did not have any of those qualities. Sasuke did not have a family, a clan, the village took the initiative to expect him to be great rather than support him, and Sasuke did nothing but think of himself and his own agenda.
Sasuke knew he had to get off this topic because he began to think more into it than he should have so he tried to move his mind somewhere else. He wondered what was taking Tobi so long. He wanted to squeeze every single fact about Itachi as he could from him. Tobi had left the room about an hour ago, he claimed he was going to check on Sakura and her wounds leaving Sasuke to think that Tobi did not trust Suigetsu.
I stared back at the masked man that stood in front of me, the man barreled in through the door told Suigetsu to get out and then stared at me angrily. His gaze me feel incredibly uncomfortable.
He walked with a slow pace towards me and then took me by the wrist and dragged me out of the bed. He tugged on me harder than ever and it felt as though my arm was going to come out my socket. "Where are you taking me?!" I yelled at the masked man. "Let go!" I yelled again. I tried to shake him off but he would not let go. He continued to tug and pull on my arm.
We came to the end of the hall and he forced me against a wall with one arm forced onto my throat. He opened the door with a key he pulled out of his pocket and I began to gasp for air. I clawed at his hand on my throat but he didn't budge. I resorted to kicking. I tried to kick his knee and his shins and even down in the private regions but I couldn't get a strong enough kick. I was losing the ability to breath. He shoved open the door took me with the one hand he had on my throat and threw me into the cold damp room.
When I landed on the cold ground I coughed and wheezed for air. The dark surrounded me and the only light in the room was the door was that was open. Only so much light escaped past the masked man's silhouette. "Why did you bring me here?"
"Shut up." he responded quickly. He walked fast towards me and kicked me in the stomach sending pain throughout my entire body. I cried out in pain and clenched my stomach.
"Why are you doing this?" he grabbed my hands and dragged me to the end of the room pulled me up and tied me up with cold, rusty, and jagged. I felt the blood run down my arms from the punctures of the sharp metal. Once I was shackled the masked man walked towards the corner of the room. He pulled on something that sent me up in the air towards the ceiling. I screamed out in agonizing pain as more and more blood leaked from my arms.
"Sasuke believes that you left the village for your own sake and choice. But we both know that that is not the case."
"What are you talking about?"
"Don't play dumb." he said "Tell me, did they give youa choice or did you just do what they told you?"
I stay silent to his questions this was just a trap. I needed to stay calm.
"Sasuke I think will be quite pleased to learn about your little plan." he said. "But there is one thing I haven't been able to put together. What exactly is the plan? After I figured out that you left the village for more than power that question has been sitting in the back of mind everyday. I came to the conclusion that you were hired to kill Sasuke, but you would have killed him already... right?"
I stared, I bit my tongue to not only keep myself silent but to keep the pain dulled from the sharp metal digging into my wrists.
"So how long did they give you to save dear Sasuke? Before you have to kill him? Perhaps if you don't kill him they will exile you from the village because of all the horrible things you have done? After all the village must keep up appearances." he took a swing at my shoulder blade. I felt the cracking of a bone and I swung from the ceiling causing the metal to dig deeper. I cried out in pain hoping that my screams would make me feel a little better. The screaming did not help and the pain continued to drown me. The man pulled on whatever hoisted me up and I was suddenly dropped to the ground. I rolled over onto my side and held my bloody wrists. I tried to heal them but I was in so much pain and I wanted to do nothing but sleep. "As far as Sasuke knows. You are dead." he said as he walked towards the door. "And don't worry about Suigetsu. He won't be playing pretend. I have some of Zetsu's clones taking care of him right now." he said with a laugh. Even though I couldn't see his face I could tell he was grinning behind it.
Tobi opened the door to my room and walked in without a knock, Sasuke saw this a very rude interruption. "Sasuke, I'm afraid I have terrible news." Sasuke looked right at him with wide eyes of worry. "Sakura I'm afraid... is dead." Tobi said. "Unfortunately her wounds were to much for her body to handle and once they became infected she really had not chance. It was Konoha that butchered her to nothing. Shocking to believe that once friends, are now enemies who turned against her with enough anger to kill her."
Sasuke sat in silence and shock. Clearly this was a dream. A frightening one at that. Sasuke began to shake and almost cry out as if in pain but he kept it inside. "When did she die?"
"Just now...at least she died in her sleep Sasuke instead of engulfed in pain."
"She...was she ever awake?" Sasuke asked.
"I think only for a moment. But I can't be sure."
"Wasn't Suigetsu with her?"
"Oh. No one told you?"
Sasuke's heart sank. He had already lost his family, his friends, his brother, now Sakura, and now something was wrong with Suigetsu. "No." he responded. Sasuke too a gulp of air hoping that what he feared wasn't true.
"The leaf, after killing Sasuke, made their way towards Suigetsu and Kisame. They took him for information. Kisame and Zetsu tried but I told them that the priority was Sakura."
Sasuke felt like he was going to throw up he started to sweat. He felt light headed and all the emotions he kept back for years came back into his mind. All at once he felt the sadness and the hurt he has kept back since the day his parents died. "Get out." he hissed.
And with a smile behind his mask, Tobi left Sasuke's room.
Short chapter but well needed.
I'm going to try and get back in the swing of things but I don't know when the next update will be. However it looks promising because Christmas break it soon. Which means more time to write!
As always, thanks for reading.
