Eowyn

I was standing on the balcony and chilling on a day

I'm de-stressing, it's depressing up in Rohan you might say

Creeper Grima Wormtongue's tryna get the King dethroned

And my brother's somewhere other while at I'm left to wait at home

Even our flag is flailing downward when the stranger comes along

Kinda rugged when he's mugging but I like him—is that wrong?

I don't get to know him too well till they get into a brawl

The creep's little peeps get their clocks cleaned one and all

The battle with the Wizard came upon us all too soon

We'll be dead, let's leave instead, said the King—Be gone by noon!

Wargs fell upon us as our journey we did make

Aragorn was lost and mourned till we learned of our mistake

Ranked in thousands all against us, the Uruk-Hai stood

At Helm's Deep, strong and steep, we did the best we could

Our triumph was a glad one, but our joy was only chance

We drank a cup, then all woke up, for a Hobbit's foolish glance

I wish I could be Aragorn's before it is too late

I fear the age, and the cage that will ever be my fate

But our paths were soon diverted, he had a mission of his own

And his plan, so like a man, was to head out alone

Though I knew his friends would follow, both the dwarf and the elf

I had courage and the urge to go after him myself

But he told me that between us there was nothing but a dream

He was leaving, I was grieving for what it all had seemed

Though the king had ordered otherwise I knew what would be best

Took up arms, hid my charms and rode out with all the rest

We rallied long the line of the Fields of Pelennor

Saw the smoke, which had choked all the hope out of Gondor

Now for wrath, now for ruin, and a sun rising red

Ever forward, ever towards the battle our King led

With Oliphants and orcs the field was nearly overrun

There was fighting, there was smiting and I thought that we had won

But a shriek shook our forces and my fear no man can tell

Raised my sword to guard my lord though the beast was swift and fell

And I took down the rider, but I had failed at one great thing

In the strife was lost the life of my uncle and my king.

I hear my brother found me in the fields of dawning day

I was lying, I was dying and my face and arm were gray

In the Healing Houses Aragorn tended to me as a friend

I met a man, our love began and so my story meets its end.
