I LIVE! Hey guys, I know it's been a while since I posted anything and especially on this particular story, but I'm back and I have say that I am in a very good place right now. I got a job back in Feb., and I've been taking care of my family. We recently moved back in July and let me just say that it was quite the production. But we did it and I've been having a little time to myself lately, so I decided to kick my ass into gear and start posting again. So, I hope you enjoy this and look forward to future posts. I think I'll be updating KOTG next because most of the next chapter is done, so be on the look out. Alrighty, ENJOY!

Stepping out of the car, Akihito looked around and was baffled. He couldn't fathom how Asami managed to get on to a military base and not have a single check point to bother with. Asami saw this and chuckled.

"I called in a favor. Come on." Akihito blinked and shook his head to come out of his daze before following Asami inside. A tech appeared and led them through the hanger with all the aircraft and out to the air field before leaving.

"Ok, I don't get it. What are we doing here, exactly?"

"You're learning to fly." Asami said nonchalantly, while Akihito almost had an aneurysm.

"HUH?! What the hell do you mean I'm learning to fly? Why?" Asami smirked.

"Because it could come in handy. You never know what kind of situation you might get yourself into." Akihito just stared at Asami like he was crazy.

"B-but I have no idea what I'm doing!"

"You must have some idea. After all, you were able to use them to your advantage when you jumped from that building the first time we met."

"That's different. That was something I picked up over the last few years from being on the job. But I've never actually tried to fly! I never had the time, never mind a safe place to even try."

"What about that man that helped you escape? Didn't he ever try to teach you?" Akihito bit his lip.

"No. I usually stayed inside the house we were staying at. It wasn't safe to go out much, especially me in case we were being looked for."

"Is that how he went missing?" Akihito shifted on his feet.

"I think so. He went out to get some things for the house and then never came back. I went out looking for him and found his wallet two or three blocks away. I don't have any proof that that's what happened, but we avoided other people, so I don't see why anyone would have been after him. And I found his wallet, so he couldn't have been jumped.

"I see. Well, since he couldn't teach you, I will. Come on."

"But what if someone sees?!" Akihito eyes shifted around as if looking for prying eyes.

"It's fine. All the personal who work here are on leave. Even the tech that walked us out here has already left. It's safe." Akihito looked at him skeptically before sighing in defeat and following Asami a little further out. It was a nice day and the wind was slow and lazy. Perfect for a beginner flier... hopefully.

Akihito took off his top shirt leaving the tank top underneath and placed it to the side before stretching out his wings. Asami watched them open and expand. They shimmered in the sun and the obsidian black was a beautiful contrast with his skin. Akihito flapped them a few times before resting them against his back, the tips brushing the grass.

"So, what do I do first?" Akihito looked Asami and he thought.

"Why don't we start by getting you off the ground. Try flying up about two feet off the ground and hover the for as long as you can."

"I'm telling you now, that's not going to be for very long."

"That's fine. Go." Akihito glowered, but got to work.

Akihito and Asami had to have been at it for over an hour. Akihito could hover seven feet off the ground for nearly four minutes by the time Asami let Akihito take a break. Akihito was sitting on the ground, breathing heavily with his wings spread out behind him resting against the grass.

"Damn. That's harder that I thought it would be." Asami smirked and sat next to him.

"A little more practice and you'll really be flying."

"Yeah, yeah." Asami chuckled while Akihito just rolled his eyes. Kirishima came out of the hanger with a bag, Suoh behind him. Kirishima hesitated for only a second at the sight of Akihito's resting wings before he continued. Suoh, on the other hand, froze at the sight of Akihito. He'd heard from Kirishima about the younger blondes wings, but seeing them was a completely different ball park.

Akihito saw Kirishima coming from the corner of his eye and turned to face him. Behind him, he noticed Suoh frozen with dinner plate sized eyes. Akihito couldn't stop himself before he was laughing so hard his sides hurt. Asami looked at Akihito as he clutched his sides from the painful stitching. Turning back he saw Kirishima approaching and Suoh behind him. Knowing what had caused Akihito to nearly die of laughter, he couldn't help but let out a light laugh of his own.

Suoh finally came back to himself and continued to walk to his employer. Kirishima set down what he revealed was their lunch and was taking it out with Akihito helping. Suoh walked up to Asami and whispered to him.

"Asami-sama, there is a call for you." Asami's eyes narrowed.

"Who is it?"

"He wouldn't say. Only that it was important." Asami sighed, irritated.

"Very well. Watch Akihito with Kirishima. He does not leave your sights."

"Yes, sir." Asami got up and Suoh handed him the phone that was on hold. Asami turned to Akihito.

"I have to take a call, behave."

"What ever, bastard, I'm not two." Suoh looked at Akihito in new bewilderment while Kirishima merely rolled his eyes at Akihito's scowl. Asami smirked and ruffled Akihito's hair before walking away and out of ear shot with Akihito swearing at him from behind. Answering the phone, Asami was immediately annoyed to find it was a business partner he had recently made a contract with.

Akihito was sitting on the ground enjoying the bento that apparently Kirishma made and it was pretty good. From the corner of his eye he could see Suoh sneak a glance at him once in a while and couldn't help but smirk to himself. Akihito then looked over to Asami who looked irritated with whoever he was on the phone with. Akihito could help but continue to watch his supposed 'godfather' on the phone.

Finally looking away, Akihito looked out across the airfield that they'd been practicing on. He still couldn't believe that he wasn't alone anymore. When he really thought about it, though, Akihito didn't feel that Asami was really his "family." At least not in the way most people would. Akihito won't deny that he felt something for the crazy bastard, but he didn't really understand what it was. Maybe he was just going insane.

Asami finally finished the phone call on an annoyed note and turned to go back to Akihito. He watched Akihito as he approached and loved that fact that he looked so comfortable. He was currently laying on his stomach, his chin on one hand while he played with the grass. His wings were stretched and laying on either side of him.

Looking at Akihito like that, Asami couldn't help but think of that night when Akihito was first brought to the penthouse. He felt a little guilty for it, but not much. Akihito was his god son, but they hadn't seen each other in 18 years and Asami highly doubted that Akihito felt that they were "family" in any sense of the word.

Akihito was playing with the grass when he saw Asami coming up from his peripheral. He folded his wings to help himself sit up and stood. Asami passed Suoh his phone and went over to Akihito.

"Ready to keep practicing?" Asami smirked as Akihito pouted.

"As I'll ever be." He grumbled back. Kirishima and Suoh stood to the side and watched as Akihito kept trying to hover higher and longer for another two hours. When Asami let him take a ten minute break now that Akihito could hover ten feet for 15 minutes, Akihito was on his hands and knees. He was so exhausted and Asami extended the break to half an hour. Akihito was sprawled out, face down on the ground when Asami's phone went off. Asami stepped away, but came back only a moment later.

"Looks like we're going to have to cut this short. Akihito, come on, get."

"Huh? Where are we going?" Akihito looked up with tired eyes.

"You are going home. I am going to a meeting." Akihito narrowed his eyes in irritation, but got up and followed Asami with Kirishima and Suoh bringing up the rear.

Kirishima got into the drivers seat and Suoh opened the back for Akihito and Asami to get in. Akihito mostly stared out the window while Asami was on the phone making random calls, going back and forth between Japanese and some other languages that Akihito didn't understand. Akihito had been so spaced out looking through the window, he hadn't noticed when Asami had put his phone away and slid over to him until a strong arm wrapped itself around his waist.

"Huh? Hey, what are you doing? Get off me!" Akihito started struggling as Asami pulled him into his lap. Akihito almost managed to get off, when Asami brought his hand to the back of his neck and held him firmly, rubbing up and down his nape.

Akihito immediately went limp in the older mans hold and Asami brought him back into his lap. A while back when Akihito was still in the facility, Akihito had been having a nightmare and when Sato came in to calm him down, even he was having trouble.

Sato finally was able to calm him down by grabbing the back of his neck and rubbing the nape there. It came with the wings. A normal person just has a pressure point, but instead of a pressure point, a gland had replaced it and when it was stimulated it was like a switch was flipped so that even if he was panicking, he automatically calmed.

Asami was surprised Akihito went limp instead of lashing out for touching neck, but pulled him back all the same. Still rubbing his nape, Asami looked down to see Akihito with a dazed look. He raised his brow and smirked. Asami let go of his nape and it took a minute, but Akihito finally blinked and came out his daze. He looked up at Asami and scowled, but made no move to get out of his lap.

"Never do that, again."

"And why not? You went completely limp and dazed. It was interesting to learn something new about my hellcat."

"I'm not yours and I'm not a cat!" Akihito growled at him.

"You're mine by law, you can't dent that." Akihito wanted to retort, but couldn't think of anything. So he just pouted and looked away, glaring at the ground. "You can't, can you?"

"Shut up, you smug bastard." Asami chuckled and ruffled Akihito's hair. Akihito growled at Asami until the car slowed and came to a stop.

"Go on up. Suoh will go with you, so if you need anything ask him."

"Fine, what ever. Wait, do they know?"

"Know what?"

"That, you know, you're my, - god father?" Asami smirked as Akihito had to pause when he said his lawful title, obviously not used to it and hesitated. Akihito just scowled.

"Yes, they know and they will do everything they can to protect you."

"I don't need a guard dog, I can take care of myself."

"Oh, you think so you?"

"I've taken care of myself for the last four years, I think I can take care of myself just fine."

"We'll see about that." Before Akihito could respond, Asami claimed his lips in a heated kiss. Asami let him go as the door opened and Akihito scrambled out before things went any further.

Akihito glared at the car as it drove off before Suoh ushered him inside the building and to the elevator. It was quiet all the way up and arriving at the penthouse, Akihito went inside. Suoh took his position as Asami's ever dutiful watch dog. Akihito couldn't help but feel bad for Suoh and wonder how the hell he and Kirishima put up with their perverted employer.

Akihito went into the bathroom and found a duffle bag on the ground with his clothes. After damning Asami to hell for the millionth time that day, Akihito stripped and jumped into the shower, letting the sweat and tension from the day melt away.

Getting out Akihito got dressed and went into the kitchen to find something to drink. After navigating the kitchen for 20 minutes, Akihito finally found the glasses and filled it with cool water before going to the living room. Akihito didn't really have any interest in T.V., but the large shelf with books caught his eye.

Looking them over, he was happy to find that there were a few that were fictional. Akihito loved to learn, but he loved the world of fantasy, too. He admired the way some authors could weave sentences together and make some awesome stories.

A blue spine caught his eye and he pulled the book off the shelf. Looking at the front, the title read "Eragon". He'd seen this book in stores a few times and had been wanting to read it. He was surprised that Asami would have a book like this, but shrugged it off and plopped onto the couch.

It wasn't long until the exhaughtstion of the day caught up with him and about two chapters into the book, he fell asleep.
