A/N: YAY I finally busted out a second chapter for this story. I'll admit the beginning might be a little rough, but as we progress further into the story things should smooth out. I have to say I am impressed with the number of favorites and alerts this story has gained for one chapter alone. I hope to keep it up, but I'll admit for this chapter I ran into a number of problems which I don't doubt some of you will notice.
Among them is the age and years Lelouch would spend with his dragon mentor, although he arrived in Earth Land when he was nine years old being in Japan for a month before he ended up in that world and then meeting the dragon who would teach him. However a change I did perform is that unlike the other dragons Lelouch's mentor remained with him until he was able to strike out on his own and learn everything he could teach him granting him the Flying Dutchman as a final parting gift before disappearing. His dragon would be known for following no one else's rules but his own seeing himself as a king of the seas.
Then there was events on Earth, which will be shown that things have gone to hell in a hand basket since Lelouch left as someone managed to plunge the Earth back into the dark ages where magic has now taken over overtaking science due to a event that caused the world to break apart on itself overnight as economies collapsed, nations fell and the world descended into chaos. Euphy will elaborate more in coming chapters once we take care of things with Natsu and Lucy here. However a scene will show that same certain mage behind Lelouch and Nunnally arriving in Earth Land is the same one likely responsible for what has been happening on Earth. Also it gives you guys a sense of what Lelouch and friends might be facing later.
Another issue that held me back I was questioning Kagura and Lelouch as well as my execution so far, although they are only partners and some details how they met will be revealed in this chapter, but I think I am over it now so I'll forge ahead. I will still have some competition for Lelouch going on partly for comedic purposes through.
Anyway with that out of the way on with the story…
BTW Happy New Year
Chapter 2
Leviathan
"My earlier years as a child were uneventful, but when I was nine years old my mother was killed." Lelouch began as he proceeded to tell his story to Lucy and Euphemia. "Euphy knows this part of my story."
"I do and it was a terrible day. His mother Empress Marianne was assassinated and his younger sister was crippled as a result. She had sustained injuries that paralyzed her for life and the trauma left her blind."
"So were the assassins caught?" Lucy inquired.
"No they haven't been caught and yet no one knows how they even managed to get into the Aeries Villa, so it was likely someone else among the royal family that helped them." Lelouch pointed out as Lucy was surprised as thought the Emperor would have done something about it. The former prince anticipated the young woman's thought and said. "Unlike some kingdoms and their royal family Britannia had a very strong belief in survival of the fittest. To them assassinations among the royal family was viewed as a way of weeding out the weak among the Royal Family. The last one left standing is the one most fit to rule, but worse yet all of Britannia share the same view-point and those from other nations besides Britannia are nothing but slaves to them."
The blonde haired woman was understandably shocked by such a nation and was feeling rather thankful one like Britannia did not exist, but then…
"Ok then, but how did you end up here?"
"Well after I confronted the Emperor my father on my mother's demise and lack of attempt to find the assassins I told him I renounced my loyal title and inheritance. I had no interest in the throne, but for my outburst my sister and I were banished to a smaller nation called Japan to be used as political bargaining tools. Our situation didn't improve much, but one night through the estate was attacked by assassins…I suspected the Emperor wanted us to die to give Britannia a reason to go to war with Japan for its valuable Sakuradite Mines. However," Lelouch said stopping mid-sentence as he was trying to recall what happened that night.
His memory was fuzzy at best because despite his best efforts he could never recall clearly what had happened. He remembered how he and his friend the son of the Prime Minister of Japan tried to escape with his sister Nunnally, but as they came to a group of armed assassins seeking to kill them a black mist struck them.
After that Lelouch's world went black as he saw a man in black robes wearing what seemed to be a white toga approach him.
"I don't know what happened…something or someone came and killed them all, but when I awoke next I was literally dropped into the middle of the ocean."
The nine year-old boy thought he was going to die as he was fighting to keep his head above water, but by his own surprise he was rescued by the most unlikely of beings imaginable. He remembered him as he first emerged from the ocean as he was very different from normal dragons people had seen in books. His massive serpentine body stretched on for at least an easy ten miles while near his small, but long lanky arms were a giant pair of blue shimmering rainbow wings. His overall appearance was similar to massive sea-dragon sometimes associated with Japanese mythology, but his red eyes looked down on Lelouch. As the young man fought to keep himself above the water even as his strength was quickly fading a part of the dragon's gigantically long body rose up under Lelouch's drowning form brining the boy up to his eye level while the ocean waters around the dragon became still.
Lelouch's face was frozen in shock and fear as the nine-year old boy was having a hard time comprehending what he was seeing before him. He was wondering if this was real or some nightmarish dream. He wanted to scream at disbelieve, but the sounds could not escape his throat. The silence was broken when the dragon suddenly spoke.
"What is a child doing out in the middle of MY ocean," The dragon-like being demanded.
"I don't know how I got here, but where is my sister?"
"SILENCE I AM ASKING THE QUESTIONS HERE BOY," The dragon roared as the sea around him briefly turned violently as a reflection of the dragon's quick surge of anger. "I rule these oceans and if you want to live you'll show me proper respect."
"My sister is more important than my life you got THAT," Lelouch began before losing his temper. "I DON'T KNOW HOW I GOT HERE, BUT ALL I WANT TO KNOW IS WHERE NUNNALLY IS?"
"You dare say such things to me when I could easily destroy you with but a whim," the dragon said as he moved his face dangerously close to the young child.
"I told you I care about my sister and if she is dead then I got no reason to go on," Lelouch declared boldly as the dragon looked into Lelouch's eyes and stared into them for a long time before replying.
"I know not of where your sister is, but it's clear to me you are not from this world are you? I felt an unusual surge of ancient magic nearby and I find you at the source of it."
"What do you mean I have no clue what you are talking about?"
"Then my point is proven, because if you had any idea who you are talking to you would be trembling before me."
"So what of it," Lelouch snapped defiantly.
To Lelouch's surprise the dragon began laughing.
"You amuse me boy…your defiance is oddly refreshing. Why not become my ward and I'll teach you my magic."
"Magic," Lelouch replied as he was confused.
"You will do well to remember my name…I am Leviathan the Dragon Lord of the Oceans of this world," Leviathan said introducing himself.
That was how Lelouch first met the dragon who taught him Water Dragon Slayer Magic, the self-styled Lord of the Oceans Leviathan.
"So that was how you met a literal sea dragon?" Lucy asked shocked by Lelouch's retelling of his first meeting with Leviathan.
"Yes and for the next six years I spent most of my time in Leviathan's underwater cave that served as his lair. Obviously my diet consisted of fish, seaweed and other items from the ocean. Fresh water was troublesome, but Leviathan taught me how to create pure drinkable water with my new-found magic after some training."
"You mean you could make salt water into drinkable water?"
"It's not very easy, but it was part of an exercise that Leviathan had me undertake to develop more precision control of my magic, but it's useful for separating other impurities from water as well however does take a lot of concentration."
"This how did you get this ship then and its crew?"
"Well I suppose you could say Leviathan is a bit of a pack-rat. Part of his underground lair contained remains of an ancient city he long ago sunk for as he explained had angered him." Lelouch explained while Lucy went pale with her eyes wide in both shock and worry.
And you had the guts to tell that dragon off when you first met?
As Lucy was wondering if Lelouch was just either brave, crazy or both the former prince continued on with his story.
"Among the treasures he horded was this sword," Lelouch said drawing the blade he carried on his side. "This links me to the Flying Dutchman and allows me to command it, however if the sword is taken from me since my link has been firmly established. It will remain until I die upon which either a new captain will take command or if I chose a successor beforehand he or she will take over. This is the Sword of Atlantis."
"Then the crew is…"
"They were created when the Flying Dutchman was created by a long forgotten civilization who dabbled in powerful magic. The ship is immortal having taken upon elements of the sea itself to strength the ship and to grant it most of its current capabilities while the crew are completely composed of bewitched sea creatures designed to maintain and serve the captain of the ship."
"What about that pet of yours, that huge sea monster?"
"Oh him," Lelouch began remembering the first time he met the Kraken. "Well I actually raised the Kraken myself when it was a young pup I guess you can call it?"
"Huh," Lucy muttered genuinely confused.
"When born Krakens are typically the size of a full grown cow, but they do begin to grow quickly in size after a couple years reaching a very large size as you saw. However the Kraken is still considered a teenager at this point so it's still growing." Kagura explained. "Lelouch found the Kraken wounded in the cave having been abandoned by its mother presumably, so surprisingly Lelouch cared for it and it grew to be loyal to the young man."
"So it is a literal pet then?"
"More or less suppose you could say," Kagura said nodding in agreement.
"Anyway I think I have answered enough questions for now, so I think I would like to turn in for the night. Your temporary quarters have been prepared already." Lelouch said as the man was clearly in need of rest.
"Alright…well good night brother and thank you for taking me in." Euphy said with a smile glad to meet up with family.
"Good night Euphy," Lelouch said as Euphy and Lucy left while Natsu had to be lead to his cabin while he was still ill from being on the ship.
Once they were alone Kagura and Lelouch began having a conversation between them.
"I assume you and Lahar talked about how Euphy arrived here?"
"We did, but I am not sure if I am able to believe it myself."
"What do you mean?" Kagura inquired.
"I am not entirely sure, but something has happened on Earth." Lelouch replied as his eyes narrowed.
Kagura silently studied Lelouch for a moment trying to determine what he was thinking.
She remembered it was a few years ago she and Lelouch met one another at a small tavern in Cedar located in the Kingdom of Fiore. Years ago when she was a child the young woman lost her brother Simon when her hometown of Rosemary Village was raided her brother was among the child abducted. She alone was the only survivor and the only child to avoid capture.
She was sent to a relative who raised her, but as soon as she was old enough she went out on her own to find her brother. However her relative an old uncle taught her gravity magic and swordsmanship before she was allowed to search for her missing brother. Her efforts were unsuccessful for the most, but upon hearing of the mysterious Flying Dutchman and its captain seeking a missing sibling she was hopeful it was her brother Simon.
Kagura went to the World's End tavern at the Cedar docks; it was cloudy with signs of possible rain. Stepping inside the old tavern was surprisingly crowded, but undeterred by the atmosphere of the seedy establishment she went straight for a table near the back where her contact to arrange the meeting with the Flying Dutchman waited for him. He was in his late fifties with graying black hair, a beard with a bit of chunky build on him. He wore a white shirt with black pants and suspenders complete with boots.
"Are you Mr. Gibbs," Kagura asked.
"That I am," Gibbs replied eyeing the woman. "Are you Miss Mikazuchi?"
"I am she, but I understand you can arrange for me to meet the captain of the Flying Dutchman."
"So it's him you want, but any chance you could tell me why?"
"Word out on the street is that he is seeking a missing sibling. I seek a missing brother," Kagura replied while Gibbs eyed the woman again.
"You wouldn't by chance know his name would you?"
"His name is Simon Mikazuchi," Kagura replied looking hopeful.
"Gibbs I think I'll join the conversation," Lelouch spoke from a corner in the shadow having stayed out of sight of Kagura silently listening in.
"Who are you?"
"I am Lelouch Lamperouge the captain of the Flying Dutchman." Lelouch said introducing himself causing Kagura's expression to sadden. For her it was another dead end, but Lelouch had something else in mind. "I have heard of you Kagura Mikazuchi. How you handled those slaver traders in Oshibana was impressive, but most importantly I overheard that you seek a lost sibling like I do."
"I do, but I haven't found any leads that could be of use."
"Then we are in the same boat, but I am not familiar with Fiore and I am seeking my sister. However despite the resources I have been gathering and my growing reputation I have not been very successful in my own search. With your accomplishment in mind and the fact that I have heard some guilds like Mermaid Heel have been trying to ask you to join them I wish to extend to you an invitation to join me."
"You mean as a crew member?"
"Yes and no, but I realize that I will need some capable of mages with me to help me find my sister as I am limited with me alone and the Dutchman. I recognize the importance of having a team of skilled mages for both seeking the one I wish to find and for acquiring funds and for building up the information network I am working to build which I hope will help me greatly in my search for Nunnally. I believe we could help one another," Lelouch said offering Kagura to join him which could help her in finding her own lost sibling while Lelouch would gain a formidable ally who may prove invaluable in his search knowing it would increase his chances of finding Nunnally.
Although he was reluctant to do so, but Lelouch knew as it was right now he was not successful on his own so perhaps someone seeking a lost sibling by his side to aid him and being a skilled mage as well would be benefit.
Weighing her options Kagura knew she was very little luck on her own, but working with Lelouch despite his mysterious reputation offered possibilities.
"Very well I accept your offer."
Returning to the present Kagura studied Lelouch for a moment longer trying to determine what he was thinking. Yet despite the two years they have worked together she had never asked much about his past or his childhood.
What is going on through your mind Lelouch, Kagura wondered.
Meanwhile across worlds it was a half-hour pass midnight as flying through the air heading for its target destination was a massive airship unlike anything the world had ever seen. It was a gigantic zeppelin of seemingly impossible size of at least 3200 feet long from bow to stern. It was around 500 feet in diameter with the six-story gondola-section of the vessel that was impossibly large over 800 feet in length. The zeppelin was painted black primarily with gold and red trimming and red fins, but as its numerous engines were propelling it through the air the Deus Ex Machina was on route to Los Angeles. Following the incident three years ago which Sakuradite had become useless worldwide crippling the entire world since the world was running on Sakuradite. Humanity had become dependent on Sakuradite to develop their technology and to power most of their new weapons and vehicles were now paying the price.
Britannia especially had paid an even bigger price for their dependency as did the rest of the world.
Inside the oval-shaped command center of the massive zeppelin which had been built without a single piece of Sakuradite in the equipment it possesses including its weapons having been built and designed specifically for use in a world without Sakuradite. The large and spacious command center had contained a huge wall composed of computer screens covering every inch of wall in the room. The screens were capable alternating between full-screen displays of strategic maps of the battlefield or at the command of the room's occupants the screens could show an external viewport via live-feed from external cameras mounted around the hull of the massive ship.
Near the center of the command center while just under the walled rows of computer screens in a small pit was operators and communication officers working at their stations sat a young man in his late teens wearing a black and tan robes with gold trimmings and an open collar, along with a large, flowing white toga draped around his body and across his chest. He had black hair that sticks upwards at the top, dark eyes and abnormally sharp canines and lastly he was also wearing a circle-shaped necklace. In his hands the man was reading an old tome with a skin-like leather cover and the emblem of a two snakes eating the other's tail.
A large muscular man wearing a black uniform with a beard and mustache on his face along with brown hair and eyes approached the young man seated in his chair. On his right arm was a black arm band bearing a symbol present on two of the fins of the airship, a pair of red snakes eating the other's tail while in the middle was the kanji for peace which was the insignia of their organization.
"Our forces below are ready and the rest of our airship fleet has also rendezvous with us," Josui Kusakabe reported.
"Excellent…prepare ground forces and lead our naval forces as per the invasion plan Colonel," The young man replied.
"Understood my lord," Kusakabe said before saluting and then leaving the command center.
The young man closed his eyes and held out one hand forward before he began chanting a spell he chose from the ancient tome he had been reading. The tome containing many ancient and forgotten spells, the arcane knowledge it contained within it alone was staggering. It held so much ancient knowledge on other forms of magic and related subjects, so much. Raising his hand up the young man began chanting a spell in an old language.
"Nature release your fury like your rage be unbound and strike down my enemies, let the seas rises and sink thy foes…be unbound now and clear the path towards my victory!"
Miles ahead on the shores of Britannia, but specifically the city of Los Angeles which only three years ago had been center, besides New York, of commence and international trading for the Britannian mainland. But ever since the day when Sakuradite worldwide became useless and virtually all operations and factories that had depended on the resource for their operation suddenly stopped anarchy swept through the city leaving parts of it in ruins. Although Britannia had managed to calm the situation, but the country as with most of the world was still trying to recover from it as they were trying to replace the components of their solar power generation systems that used Sakuradite with new components that didn't use the superconductive material.
Thus Britannia was especially vulnerable to attack, but either way they were not prepared for nature herself to assault their shores as tsunami waves slammed into the shoreline destroying what remained of what harbors they had flooding areas close to the sea. The situation got even worse as tornados formed and began tearing apart buildings and homes further inland. It was an hour before the waves stopped and the invasion force arrived wasting no time in deploying their ground forces.
After making landfall the tornados also stopped, but the confused and tried out Britannian soldiers who had tried to not just weather the sudden violent assault on the city by Mother Nature, but tend to the remaining people still living within the city. Now not only was men armed with assault rifles and old tanks that did not use Sakuradite attacking the Britannian homeland, but hordes of demons emerging from the sea and descending from the skies joined the invasion force.
It was simply overwhelming.
As his airship approached the young man watched with a smile at the swift devastation his spell had caused and at the swiftness his forces was tearing through the weakened Britannian defenses.
"Come my friends…
'Tis not too late to seek a newer world, we shall seek it by sweeping away the evil that is Britannia to usher it forth…Ouroboros shall usher in a new world" The man said while the operators smiled while the rest of his followers cheered as the long-awaited strike on Britannian soil had begun.
As the fleet approached their forces were unleashed upon the city as the demons surged through the desolated and ruined streets of the city wiping out all forms of Britannian resistance including soldiers and old tanks they had brought out of retirement that wasn't dependant on Sakuradite for operation. But the numbers of the demons combined with the landing soldiers was simply overwhelming as the Britannians couldn't hold them back.
The battle would drag on for a few hours, but the outcome was already long decided with Britannia's in the city being wiped out and the Ouroboros organization having now gained a foothold in the Britannia homeland. Their leader aboard his airship watched contently as he saw smoke rising into the sky with fires spreading across more of the ruined city.
Now we can truly cleanse the world of corruption called Britannia with the fires of chaos. The powerful mage leading the invasion thought as a smile appeared on his face.
"Welcome to Fairy Tail," Natsu said to Lucy as the group including Lelouch, Happy and Kagura stood outside the guild having arrived in town just not too long ago as the Flying Dutchman was currently sitting in the middle of Lake Sciliora. It was already late afternoon of the following day since they entered the underwater tunnel. Euphy was going to remain aboard the Flying Dutchman for now until Lelouch could take care of things at the guild.
"Wow…this place is huge," Lucy exclaimed before everyone went inside.
The group entered into the lunch hall floor of the guild which had a bar and was where the general job meeting board was located at. Lelouch found a table where Lucy, Kagura and Happy could sit down, but when Lelouch went to look for Natsu to call him to the table he noticed something that made his face pale which prompted the young man.
"Ok we're moving up to the second floor…hurry now," Lelouch said as he and Kagura with Lucy and Happy in tow hurried up to the second floor overlooking the first floor.
"I thought the second floor was only reserved for those of S-class rank," Happy asked.
"Kagura and I are S-rank Happy," Lelouch pointed out.
"But Lucy and I aren't."
"True, but for now you two have permission to sit up here with us."
"Is it because of Natsu," Happy asked as Lelouch nodded. "Oh that's right…ok I understand now."
"Huh, why we're going to the second floor," Lucy asked.
"Well remember that Natsu was looking for someone," Lelouch began to explain while an angry Natsu was approaching one of his fellow guild mates. The unfortunate man in question was named Krov who had a red sweatshirt with black hair, but unaware of what was coming the man got up and began chatting obviously to the angry Natsu.
"Hey Natsu good job on not wrecking the harbor," Krov said barely finishing his sentence before…
"This is something you should remember Miss Lucy, one thing that you will have to learn about Natsu and most Fairy Tail Mages is," Lelouch began as Natsu delivered a swift kick to Krov's face. The impact of the blow and Natsu leaping onto the table to deliver said kick caused it to break while Krov was knocked to the ground.
"YOU BASTARD, that info you gave me about Salamander was fake!"
"That one constant sometimes, it's that Natsu and mass fights are like the spark to a keg of gunpowder," Lelouch explained.
"My now that Natsu is back the store might be torn apart soon," A slim young woman said with a laugh.
The woman in question had long, white hair, which gets slightly curly at the ends, with two bangs framing her face and reaching down to her ample chest, but her most distinctive trait is a short, upward ponytail obtained by gathering and tying the hair covering her forehead. The nineteen year old woman has large blue eyes and a curvy, voluptuous body, with large breasts dressed in a long, sleeveless maroon dress. The chest-area is adorned by a large, pink bow, and similarly colored trimmings frame the rather ample neckline, acting as straps, and circle around the waist while the pleated skirt of the dress reaches down to her ankles completing the attire was that the woman wears a pair of high-heeled shoes that match her dress, a small chain necklace with a blue oval gem attached to it circling her neck, and lastly has a bracelet made of white flowers circling her right wrist.
"It's already being torn apart," another guild member pointed out as the situation quickly escalated into a full-scale brawl just as Lelouch knew was going to happen.
Lucy watched with growing worry at the chaos down stairs before another member of the guild made his presence know, but the fact that he was only wearing a pair of shorts made him stand out like a sore thumb. He was older than Natsu with black spiky hair with blue eyes and his Fairy Tail mark on the right side of his chest.
"Hey did someone say Natsu was back, LET'S PICK UP FROM WHERE WE LEFT OFF," Gray Fullbuster declared before engaging Natsu in a fight, which quickly resulted in Gray losing his shorts. Lucy freaked before turning away with her face red.
"Anyway," Lelouch began acting as if he was completely obvious to the large-scale brawl happening down stairs. "I can help you get started on the process to joining our guild Lucy, but we just need a few details and I can speak to the old man about finalizing it. But I am sure you'll be allowed to join regardless."
"Uh…what kind of information do you mean exactly?"
"Basic information like what kind of magic you can use…just basic information."
"Well ok," Lucy said while the increasingly violence of the brawl below was making her nervous.
"Now why don't we begin...what is your full name?"
"Oh of course I am Lucy Heartfilia," Lucy replied while for a brief moment Lelouch seemingly recognized the name but he didn't say anything on the subject instead he simply wrote it down. "Ok how about," the Water Dragon Slayer began when suddenly a bottle thrown into the air from the first floor suddenly hit Kagura in the back of the head. After the bottle shattered much to the shock of Lucy and Happy who watched as Kagura who was seemingly unharmed rise up from her chair.
"Lelouch-sama, please excuse me," Kagura said before cracking her knuckles.
"I understand, please go easy on them," Lelouch replied with a gesture of approval.
"Understood," Kagura replied politely before leaping off of the balcony and into the brawl which just grew even more violent seconds later. Lelouch was still unfazed by the escalating chaos which prompted Lucy at this point to ask.
"Aren't you going to stop that?"
"It will stop itself…don't worry."
"DON'T WORRY," Lucy said with a shocked expression.
"Just think of such events as Happy Hour here."
"You're kidding right, how can this be ok?"
"It's not boring here at least," Lelouch replied with a smirk followed by a laugh.
"They aren't going to try anything funny with me right," The blonde-haired woman said with obvious concern.
"I wouldn't worry about that, but if any of them are a problem just knock some of them flat on their face and the rest will leave you alone."
"Oh a newcomer," Mirajane Strauss said approaching the table Lelouch, Happy and Lucy occupied.
"Lucy this is Mirajane," Lelouch said introducing the white-haired woman.
"The real Mirajane…a pleasure," Lucy said shaking hands with the older woman.
"I think you'll like it here it is so much fun."
"You call this fun," The blonde-haired girl asked raising an eyebrow.
"Yeah," Mirajane said just as someone literally sent flying through the air landed on top of her crushing her. The man in question was huge with a body of solid muscle with spiked up white hair and a stitched scar on the right side of his face. Elfman, Mirajane's younger brother who had been sent flying by Natsu and Gray after Kagura tossed the larger man at the two when Elfman was redirected into attacking her by another guild mate he had been fighting.
"OH NO MIRAJANE DON'T DIE," Lucy said worried for the young woman's well-being.
Lelouch got up and moved Elfman off of Mirajane. The white-haired woman was unconscious as Lelouch being the gentleman rearranged some chairs and put Mirajane on a make-shift bed for the woman to rest on until she regained consciousness.
Seemingly aware of what happened a furious Kagura was making her way to the instigator of the whole brawl who was currently engaged in a fight with Gray, but upon seeing Kagura heading in their direction the Ice Mage's face went white before he wisely ran off making a hasty retreat. Natsu unaware of the approaching danger stood proudly as he began to brag about his victory over Gray.
"Ha…the chicken ran away so I win," Natsu declared before laughing just as a shadow was cast over him followed by the sound of Kagura cracking her knuckles. "Huh," Natsu began just as he was starting to look over his shoulder. The unfortunate man didn't have a chance to fight back as Kagura brutally pounded the Fire Dragon Slayer into the ground before he could react.
Gray had a very good reason to run away…
"It's gone too far…please stop them Lelouch," Happy said pleading with the Water Dragon Slayer as he watched with a look of horror on his face at the beating Natsu was getting.
"I don't need to," Lelouch replied pointing to a giant that suddenly appeared in the guild hall putting a stop to the brawl moments before most of the participants were about to use magic.
"CUT IT OUT, YOU FOOLS!"
Everyone stopped and looked towards the giant towering man who stood almost two stories tall with an imposing figure. Upon seeing the giant the brawl came to a complete and sudden halt with the dust beginning to settle at last.
"HE'S HUGE," Lucy said with a panicked look on her face.
"So the master was here after all," The Water Dragon Slayer noted before the giant began shrinking while ignoring the Fire Dragon Slayer road kill that had been created by a panting Kagura. After shrinking out of view Lucy was curious to the identity of the giant, but she got her answer moments later when he did a back flip from the ground floor to the second floor. He bumped his head on the railing just missing his target by a few inches. But he recovered standing up on the railing as Makarov turned to Lucy.
"Nice to meet you newcomer…I trust you are handling her application Lelouch?"
"Of course we had just started," Lelouch replied.
"Good I'll leave that to you," Makarov said before turning to address the rest of his guild with a large stack of papers in his left hand. "You have done it again fools, just look at these documents I received from the council."
"The Magic Council," Lucy thought wondering what the complaints were although she had a good suspicion what one of them might be.
"First…Gray," Makarov began reading from the papers he held while Gray poked his head out from behind the bar counter where he had taken cover when he saw Kagura going for Natsu. "Good job on sweeping out the smuggling organization, but you walked around naked in town afterwards and RAN away after stealing underwear that was being dried!"
"But wouldn't it have been worse if I was naked."
"IT DOESN'T JUSTIFY STEALING," Makarov pointed out. "You are a member of Fairy Tail…not some thief!"
"Maybe you shouldn't have been naked in the first place," A recovered Elfman commented after coming down from the second floor but Makarov noticed it and had a complaint for him too.
"Elfman you had a mission to escort a VIP during a mission, but you assaulted him."
"He said all men are about education, so," Elfman began looking embarrassed by the incident.
"Cana Alberona," Makarov began looking to a young woman about eighteen years of age with brown eyes and long, wavy, flowing brown hair that reached down to her waistline. Cana had a very voluptuous figure, with large breasts and curvy hips with scantly attire consisting of a light blue camouflage patterned bikini top, a pair of calf-length brown pants, with two bands hanging from each leg and a light belt covered in heart motifs loosely tied around the waist, and high-heeled sandals. She also had a pair of metal bracelets adorning her biceps, bearing an incision composed of many "A"s, and three simple, round metal bracelets on her right wrist and lastly her black Fairy Tail stamp is located on the lower left part of her abdomen, right above her hip.
"Drinking 15 large barrels of alcohol and then charging it to the council!"
"Damn they found out," Cana said not trying to deny it.
"Loke," Makarov began looking really annoyed for a moment before he went on. "Flitting with council member Elder Reiji's granddaughter, a certain talent agency charged us for damage compensation. And Natsu," Makarov saving the worst troublemaker for last before listing the complaints leveled against Natsu which took up more than half of the total complaints.
"Huh," Natsu said as he was rising to his feet.
"You destroyed the Devon Thief Family, but you also destroyed seven other houses belonging to the townspeople, leveling a historic clock tower in Tully Village, burning down a church in Freesia, damaging parts of Lupinus Castle, Nazuna Ravine Observatory collapsed and has thus stopped its operations. I am glad Lelouch didn't allow you to do anything during that whole incident with Bora. I am just glad you didn't destroy the harbor or something."
Lelouch quietly laughed a little at that as there was no doubt that Natsu might have been capable of that.
"With the exception of Kagura and Lelouch the rest of you have complaints regarding the lot of you from the council." Makarov said looking at his fellow guild mates hard. "The council members are angry at me all the time…but…" Makarov suddenly burned the papers from the council with a quick display of fire magic before casting the burning documents to the ground on the first floor, but a recovered Natsu despite his early beating seized the burning paper and began eating the flames they were producing. "Forget the council."
Lucy was stunned while Lelouch was smiling.
"Listen up…the power to overcome reasoning is born from reasoning. Magic is not a miracle, when the spirit flow within us and the spirit flow in nature connect. They will form an embodiment for the first time. You need a strong mentality and a lot of concentration for that, I mean pouring all of your soul into whatever you do is the magic. If you keep worrying about the watchful eyes of the higher-ups then your magic won't improve…do not fear the fools on the council. Do whatever you think is right…that is the way of the Fairy Tail mages!"
Everyone below began cheering as Lelouch and Lucy finished the form.
"Welcome to Fairy Tail Lucy," Lelouch said with a smile.
"Thanks, so what now?"
"Now we just need to put the guild mark on you," A reawakened Mirajane said sitting up as the woman was recovering.
"You are off to a promising start Lucy," Kagura began rejoining the group on the second floor. "Sometimes it's almost standard for members of this guild to be blamed for collateral damage in our missions, messing with our clients and such or," Kagura began before Gray downstairs interrupted her by shouting.
"HUOOOH! HAS SOMEONE SEEN MY BOXERS!?"
"…with indecent Exposure, among other peculiarities," Kagura noted before finishing her sentence upon which Lelouch decided to add as well too as he spotted Loke checking Lucy out from a distance.
"Not to mention flirting with the wrong people…and being an impossible pimp to boot."
"Anyway young lady why don't we finish and get your guild stamp right away," Makarov said breaking Lucy from her internal thoughts.
"Uh ok," Lucy replied as Mirajane had walked away to retrieve the magical stamp they had. "Now which color would you like and where would you like it?"
"Well how about right here," The blonde-haired woman replied pointing to the back of her right hand.
"Alright," Mirajane replied before stamping Lucy with the mark of Fairy Tail. "Now it's truly official."
A short time later as Lucy went down stairs to show off her new guild stamp to Natsu who as far as Lelouch could observe had somehow irritated Lucy, but what drew his attention was a young boy talking to the guild master. Mirajane had decided to sit with Lelouch and Kagura, although the white-haired woman was talking to Kagura for the most part. The group moved down from the upper floor to the bottom floor as it was more active on the ground floor than it was on the second floor.
"Is my daddy back yet," Lelouch heard a small boy nearby talking to Master Makarov who was sitting on the bar counter looking down at a small child wearing a simple T-shirt with shorts and had black hair.
"You're annoying Romeo…if you are the son of a mage, then trust your father, be a good boy and wait for him at home."
"He said he would come back in three days, but it has been a whole week."
"Macao's job is at Hakobe Mountain isn't it," Makarov pointed out as Natsu began listening in.
"It's not that far either, so PLEASE LOOK FOR HIM," Romeo wailed.
"No way, your father is a mage; we have no mage here who can't take care of himself. Go home and drink milk or something," Makarov shot back which only earned him a punch in the face from the boy.
"IDIOT," Romeo shouted before running away.
"Isn't anyone going to help him," Lucy inquired, but Lelouch heard the sound of Natsu sticking the job form for job he was considering but changed his mind in favor of helping Romeo out.
"Natsu is," Lelouch said as he watched Natsu leaving the guild.
"Hey Natsu don't break the message board," Nab Lasaro called out but Natsu ignored him and kept going prompting the tall man to say. "Master…Natsu is going to do something bad."
"He…I bet he is going to help Macao, stupid kid," Makarov replied followed up by Nab pointing out.
"If he does that, it will only hurt Macao's pride."
"No one can decide what he should do, so leave him alone."
Nab said no more on the matter as Makarov closed off the discussion, but Lucy on the other hand who had been observing the whole situation went over to Lelouch, Kagura and Mirajane's table to ask them the question she had.
"What was that all of a sudden with Natsu?"
"The same thing happened to Natsu," Mirajane began to explain. "Maybe he saw himself in Romeo since Natsu's father hasn't come back for a long time now. Thought by father I should say foster parent," the white haired girl began to explain as she was correcting herself. "And he's a dragon."
"A DRAGON," Lucy exclaimed nearly falling over. "How could I believe that?"
"Natsu was found in the forest by a Fire Dragon when he was little where he learned words, cultures and magic from him. But then one day that dragon disappeared from Natsu's life," Lelouch explained as Lucy realized Igneel that Natsu was looking for was his father.
"I see, so that's who Natsu was looking for then?"
"Natsu is looking forward to seeing Igneel again one day isn't he cute," Mirajane said with a smile.
Lucy laughed lightly before Mirajane had something else to say.
"We mages of Fairy Tail…all are carrying something…wounds, pain, suffering…and I as well."
"Huh," Lucy began wanting to ask Mirajane what she meant by that last part, but the white-haired woman bushed it off.
"No it's nothing…"
Lelouch was quiet as was Kagura in quiet contemplation, but Lucy had decided to help Natsu in finding Romeo's missing father.
I carry something too…
Lelouch thought as he remembered the day almost eight years ago when his mother Marianne was killed by unknown assassins.
That same tragedy also left his younger sister Nunnally blind and crippled for what was likely to be the rest of her life. Although it was a long time ago…Lelouch still remembered it as clear as if it was something that had happened yesterday. But he remembered the day the man he once called father the Emperor of the country of his birth no less banished him. It was a short time later following the assassination of his mother Marianne vi Britannia as Lelouch sought an audience with his father at the royal palace.
Royal Guard: Announcing Prince Lelouch vi Britannia, seventeenth heir to the royal Britannian imperial throne!"
A member of the royal guard announced as a young nine-year old Lelouch vi Britannia dressed in royal grab with a red cape upon his shoulders marched into throne room making his way towards his father, but along the way he overheard some of the chatter among the nobles.
"I heard Empress Marianne was killed inside of the Britannia Palace."
"There's no way terrorists could've gotten in there."
"Which means that the real assassins must have..."
Another noble began, but he was silenced by his companion.
"Shh! beware my friend; you'll regret it if anyone hears that kind of talk around the palace."
"And yet the boy remains, even though his mother is dead, it is over.
"And the Ashford family who stood behind him is finish as well."
"And his sister, the princess?"
A female member of the nobility inquired.
"I understand she was shot in the legs and that she lost her sight!"
"Blindness caused by trauma though, isn't it?"
"No difference, now the girl can't be married off for political gain."
Lelouch passed the last of them and stopped before his father the Emperor of Britannia, although he was approaching his sixties now the man who was emperor of the greatest empire in the world was still in good health if his large and muscular appearance combined with the Renaissance-style hair style said anything about it.
It wasn't likely the Emperor was going to kick the bucket anytime soon.
"Hail Your Majesty, my mother the Empress is dead."
"Old news, what of it?"
"What of it?"
"You sought an audience with the Emperor of Britannia simply inform me of that. Send the next one in, I have no time for these childish games."
"Father!"
Lelouch attempted to run towards his father, but the guards standing by the Emperor moved to intercept him, but Charles halted them by raising his hand while the young prince stopped in his tracks. The guards held their weapons in salute as they acknowledged the man they served.
"Yes, Your Majesty!"
"Why didn't you keep Mother out of harms' way? You're the Emperor, the greatest man in this nation not the world, you should've protected her and now you don't even visit Nunnally!"
"I'm no use for that weakling."
"That weakling," Lelouch spoke as his father's last words stopped his mind dead in its tracks for a moment.
"That is what it means to be royalty," Charles replied as Lelouch felt the rage within him flare before shouting with rage having consumed him.
"Then I don't want to be your heir, I give up my claim to the throne," Lelouch snapped shocking all of the nobles present. "I'm sick of the fighting and scheming over who will succeed you Father, I had enough!"
"You are dead," Charles began. "You were always been dead to me, dead from the moment you were born. Who gave you the fine clothes you wear and comfortable home? The food you eat and your very life? All of those, I have given to you; in short you are nothing to me because you have never existed. Yet you dare to speak such foolishness to me," Charles demanded angrily as he rose from his throne causing Lelouch to stumble back and fall. "Lelouch, you are dead, therefore you are not entitled to any rights. I am sending you and Nunnally to Japan, as prince and princess; you will serve well as bargaining tools."
After that day his whole world crumbled around him and his hate he held for the members of his own family was born that day. However after the short time he spent in chapter befriending another boy he met at the Kururugi Shrine the war happened and then the day when he was sent into Earth Land, which had him separated from Nunnally was a fuzzy memory. Besides his sister and the friend he had made in Japan the only thing Lelouch could only seem to remember was the image of a man in black robes standing in the shadows looking at him.
Lelouch was so deep in thought that he didn't notice the newly inducted member Lucy head outside following Natsu.
"I think Lucy is planning on helping out Natsu," Kagura noted brining Lelouch out of his thoughts.
"Let her go besides maybe things might go a little smoother for Natsu if he has a partner with him," Lelouch replied while unlike the master he was concerned something had gone wrong with Macao's mission. "If Macao was supposed to be back in four days and a week has passed then something is wrong."
"Shouldn't we go as well," Kagura asked.
"No need…I trust Natsu and Lucy should be able to handle themselves…besides what was Macao's mission anyway?"
"If I am not mistaken he was asked to defeat twenty vulcans on Hakobe Mountain."
"I see and if I am not mistaken the vulcans on that mountain can take over your body correct," Lelouch asked while Kagura nodded before the young man began considering a long list of possibilities within his mind on what could have happened taking into account Macao's skills as a mage and the number of foes he was facing.
There are two possibilities, but the most likely among both is that Macao fought the twenty vulcans and was weakened and worn out from fighting off all of them so either: A he was killed or B one of the surviving vulcans took over his body. The only question is how many vulcans did he fail to defeat?
Lelouch thought while likely having come to the conclusion of what had happened, but now with Natsu and Lucy going to the mountain to investigate he came to the conclusion that the duo had a eighty percent probability of succeeding in defeating the vulcans Macao missed. It was just a matter of hoping if Macao was still alive.
If Macao was possessed then defeating him in his Vulcan possessed state should free him, but I wonder if I should tell Natsu and Lucy this, The Sea-Serpent of Fairy Tail thought before stopping to consider possibility informing the duo, but shrugged it off with a grin. They'll figure it out…I am sure they'll be fine too.
"So are we going to be handling Euphy's living conditions," Kagura inquired.
"Yes, but we'll need to make some arrangements through as there are a number of things we need to address first."
A/N: chapter two is over and Lucy has settled into Fairy Tail, yeah I kept some of the ideas from the original chapter two. Originally it was discussed that Lelouch might have been there for Mirajane which could have prevented her slump and decline in abilities, but that wouldn't have been quite a bit of back-story to cover and I felt it would've had Mirajane out of character too.
So tell me your suggestions or comments and as for pairings I have some ideas for Natsu in mind and some of the others, but I'll wait until later in the story to worry about them.
