Sorry for fluff.
Now What?: The Post-Confession Downfall
"Good morning Tsuruga-san!" Kyoko bowed deeply, only for the sake of not having to look at that gentleman's smile again.
"And good morning to you too Mogami-san!" Tsuruga-san made his scary smile even brighter, just for her.
But what'd I do!? Kyoko wondered. She took a small step back, hoping he wouldn't notice.
He noticed.
She backed up. Tsuruga-san looked at her foot. When he turned his attention back up to her face, his expression dropped. She was scared, horrified even, of him. He took a step closer and she matched by stepping back.
What is it that got him so angry in the first place? She thought. I must've done something to get him really mad 'cuz he came to me! There's no way he'd need to be in the LoveMe clubroom by chance.
He took another step and when she went to move away he grabbed her shoulder and pulled her close. "I'm sorry," He wrapped his free arm around her waist. "Please, I didn't mean to scare you," He lead her over to the couch that sat next to the door.
"Why do you always get so angry with me?" Kyoko glanced up from her previous position of staring at her shoes. "I never see you get this angry at anyone else, not usually anyway,"
"Because… you're special," He said, "You mean so much to me and I just wanna protect you,"
What am I saying and why won't I stop!? "I care about you, Kyoko, I love you," He was mentally kicking himself when he realized that he had never looked at Kyoko to see her reaction. She didn't look sad or scared or unhappy even. Without a word she nestled her head into the crook of her neck and closed her eyes, thinking.
There was a war going inside Kyoko in that moment, between her box that desperately wanted to open, and her demons, who would die to keep it closed. it seemed as though the demons were losing, but in that moment, she couldn't care less.
Tsuruga-san started to apologize for saying something like that all of the sudden but when he opened his mouth to speak Kyoko began to cut in; "I love you too,"
"Where are we going?" Kyoko asked. She wished he would let go of her hand, she thought someone was going to have to revive Yashiro-san when they walked past.
"President," was all he said.
"Why?" If he was going to give short plain responses than so was she.
He stopped, but only for a moment. "He's been waiting on this for almost a year know, it'd be mean not to tell him."
Lory bit his lower lip to stop himself from emitting a fan girl scream one would normally associate Yashiro-san with.
"Why were you waiting for that?" Maria-Chan (who had been sitting quietly next to her grandfather until now) said.
"What d'ya mean?" Lory looked at her incredulously. "They're a real couple now!"
"Yeah…" Maria-Chan paused. "What now?"
Lory shot her a peculiar look.
"I mean like," She continued, "What changes? what is it that happens that makes it worth waiting for?"
They all stared. She had a point.
Kyoko lay awake staring at her bedroom ceiling. No one had an answer for Maria-Chan, was love just a waste of time like she ad thought? Suddenly her phone rang, making her jump.
"Hello?" She whispered as not to wake the Okami.
"Hello!" It was Tsuruga-san. "I thought of something," Though she couldn't see him Kyoko could tell that he smiled after saying that.
"What is it?" Kyoko gave up whispering, too much excitement.
"I love you,"
"I love you too," Three words, that's all it was…
And all she could ever need.
