Chapter 27
-November 2nd Hogwarts 3:08 A.M.-
It has been over a week since Sirius has been kidnapped from Hogwarts and the Board is breathing down his neck on how such a thing could have happened. Albus Dumbledore prided himself knowing everything there is to know in the school and yet somehow the boy was kidnapped under his nose, and now the upstarts in the New World had the Potters in prison for escaping custody and kidnapping. Pushing that aside he finally managed to figure out how he was taken from the school. An unwarded secret passageway that connected the school all the way to Kings Cross, along with an underground railway. Who would be stupid enough to ride on one of those? That was one mystery solved, he couldn't get Amelia Bones, head of the DMLE, could inform him how the Potters were taken, she was tight lipped about it.
Dumbledore quickly made sure he placed wards preventing anybody using this station from entering the school again. Unfortunately wards had always eluded his grasp, and it was a temporary solution at best, so he had to get professionals to make a more permanent solution. With a sigh and heavy heart Dumbledore returned to the castle.
Now he could focus on getting back the Potters, more importantly Sirius, without him the defeat of Voldemort will always be out of his grasp, because of a damned prophecy made over a year before he was bloody born, unless Sirius met his ultimate demise from the Dark Lord, then he could send Tom to Azkaban, in hopes of seeing the error of his ways, and reshape the magical world, for the Greater Good.
As Dumbledore left, Jason Blood appeared, seemingly out of nowhere and noticed the wards that the headmaster had placed.
Jason chuckled in amusement as he tugged on his 19th century style outfit and said, "He really thinks that this will keep anybody out? A mere child could break these." As Jason walked through the wards a golden light appeared before him and appeared to try to hold the individual back but to no avail.
-November 2nd NYC, Karen's High School 9:42 A.M.-
Karen's and Hermione's popularity grew when word got out that they were kidnapped by the Joker and had to fight for their lives, long enough for Batman and Nightwing to save them. Now their fanclub included the entire male student body, including a fourth of the female population, and several of the teachers.
Hermione peaked out of the Janitors closet and noticed that nobody was outside. "I think it's clear."
Hermione and Karen tried sneaking out of the Janitor's closet, Hermione is wearing an outfit that would have been decent on most girls but was scandalous on her as her pink shirt hugged every part of her and it stopped just above her belly button, you could also make out the outline of her bra, and her pants was just as tight around her waist and butt.
"I think we can make it to our next class without our fan clubs finding us," Karen said as she closed the closet door behind her. As soon as the door clicked shut. "Though you could have picked a better outfit to wear."
Hermione flinched and said, "This was the last gift my mother gave to me before…" Hermione trailed off as she had a distant look on her face.
"Sorry," Karen said as they walked as quietly as they could down the hallway to their next class.
"I hadn't worn this since before the change and I thought they'd still fit me, since it was to big for me, before the change," Hermione said with a sighed as she tugged at the bottom of her shirt.
-Hogwarts same time-
"Is the potion ready," Ron asked the Ravenclaw Patil.
"Of course it is," Padma replied. "I'd give it to you when you hold up your end of the bargain."
"I can't Sirius is some muggle prison and that potion could get help him," Ron explained.
"It would seem like that we are at an impasse," Padma stated.
"No, you won't give me that potion so I can use it to help Sirius," Ron shot back.
Padma sighed and replied, "He brought it upon himself and I only agreed to this if he upholds the end of the bargain first."
Padma turned around to leave and before she could react she heard Ron say, "Imperio."
-Location: Classified. Time: ?-
Inside a prison that looked more like a fortress in the middle of the ocean is a top secret Maximum security prison for the non-magical population of the U.S. to hold magical that committed crimes on the no-maj side. Each resident had their own cell, which consisted of metal walls, with no window and the only way in or out of the cells had a greenish Force field. The room is specially designed to prevent the use of magic and each was meant to hold one person. The only things that the cell came with was a metal table top, which was wielded to the wall, and was barely over a foot off the ground, which was meant to be used as a bed, and a toilet.
Sirius Potter is sitting in the corner of his cell and he managed to bribe a guard to let him have a tennis ball, which he is currently using by throwing it against the opposing wall and let it bounce back to him, before repeating the process.
"Will you stop doing that!" A familiar voice cried out in the cell next to him, after Sirius used their joining wall as target practice for his ball.
"Make me Malfoy," Sirius retorted as he continued to throw the ball.
"That's Lord Malfoy to you boy," Lucias Malfoy said with a mix of pride and disgust. "When the Dark Lord finds out…"
"Ya, ya I know he'll set you and your fellow followers so you can help the Dork Lord reign terror on the muggle world," Sirius said in a very sarcastic tone, "And kill me and Dumbledore too. Did I leave anything out, oh wise Lord Malfoy."
"You're learning," Malfoy replied with a snarl.
"The problem is that nobody knows where we are," Sirius said, "Bollocks, I don't even know which ocean where we are surrounded by!"
"The Dark Lord will find us."
-Voldemort's Lair-
"Bellatrix, how's the Magical community," Voldemort asked.
"The masses are currently unaware of your rise to power," Bellatrix replied. "Dumbledore and his followers are the only obstacle in our way.
"Good. How about Malfoys blunder," Voldemort asked.
"They believe Malfoy finally snapped and reverted back to his 'imperiused' self and gathered as many of your former followers as he could," Mrs. Malfoy replied.
Voldemort glared at the second woman and said, "The only reason I didn't kill you is because I need your skills, Narcissa. You won't be getting a second chance. As for your husband, he outlived his usefulness and I don't have the resources to find out where those filthy muggles in the colonies took him."
Narcissa bowed and said, "You are to kind my Lord."
Voldemort waved them out.
The two woman left and Narcissa said to her cousin, Bellatrix, after they left, "Our Lord is playing a dangerous game, especially with that golem of Snape."
"Our Lord knows what he is doing," Bellatrix replied with a hint of insanity.
"I know he does, cousin. He is playing a dangerous game of exploding snap with Albus Dumbledore," Narcissa replied. "Especially with that realistic golem."
Bellatrix pulled out her wand and pointed it Narcissa and said, "Don't cross our Lord or you'll regret it before He has your way with you."
-November 4th 7:03 P.M. Karen's house-
Karen and Hermione are currently doing their homework, in the living room, when an owl managed to fly in through the open chimney and landed on the girls homework and the owl shook off the sut from its feathers.
"Stupid owl ruined our math homework!" Karen complained as she tried to save what she could.
Hermione is also trying to save their homework and said, "Someone is trying to give you a present." She noticed the box that the owl was holding.
Karen took the box from the owl and read the tag out loud, "To Power Girl, from your biggest fan." Karen snorted in amusement and continued, "A child witch or wizard must have sent this. This is some of the messiest handwriting I've ever seen."
Hermione looked at the tag and said, "That's Ron's handwriting. A 'friend' of your brothers." Hermione used air quotes around friend.
"No thanks," Karen said as she threw the box into the fire place and set it on fire with her heat vision and Karen lifted an eyebrow as pink smoke left the fire.
"Amortentia," Hermione gasped, Karen gave Hermione a look before Hermione explained, "It's a very powerful love potion. I don't know how'd Ron got his hands on the stuff. He had the third lowest scores in our year, when I attended the same school as him. The potion is extremely hard to make, even among skilled potion makers."
As the fire died down a rolled up scroll appeared out of the smoke and flew towards Karen.
Karen unrolled it and she started reading it. It read:
To whomever it concerns,
You must have figured out the package was laced with potions. I was asked by Sirius Potter to make a Amortentia for him and I only accepted because I knew he'd asked someone else to do it for him, so I purposely left the potion incomplete because I also knew that if the potion was discovered, he would have shifted all the blame onto me, for making the potion in the first place.
Signed,
A friend.
Karen gave the scroll to Hermione before she began thinking, "What does my idiot brother think he's doing?"
"I think he's thinking that you're alter ego is the perfect girl for him and nothing else seems to be working." Hermione suggested.
Karen pinched the bridge of her nose and said, "That's disturbing on so many levels."
Hermione decided to change the subject, "The League had found the last of the Founders artifacts."
"I heard that too," Karen replied, "I also heard that they fought Voldemort himself. Though he managed to send Stargirl and Elongated Man medical attention afterwords."
-Hogwarts, Dumbledore's Office-
Dumbledore is furious, those meddlesome muggles has managed to grab ahold of all the Founders Artifacts and are hiding them beyond his sight and reach! Not only the war with Tom is going to last longer, he has to deal with a trespasser that not only imperiesed one of his charges but obliviated her of the incident. After examining the student, he managed to tell the spell casting was sloppy at best. She could regain memories of the incident or they could be remained locked away forever.
Dumbledore sighed as he tried to figure out Toms next move. Both he and Tom had lost pieces in their chess game against the muggles. Dumbledore assumes that Tom would be going after the prophecy now, though he would have to plan it carefully. Dumbledore knew that Tom didn't want the unnecessary attention at this time. Without Sirius, Tom will have get it himself.
Dumbledore looked at the perch of his Phoenix and said, "Fawkes, my faithful friend, the light must win this war."
After saying that Dumbledore left ha office, unaware that the Phoenix perch is empty, except for a single feather.
Inside the castle Come and Go Room, Jason is on top of a pile of antiques.
"There must be a better way to find a horcrux then this," Jason muttered to himself.
Just then he saw a glint of light and saw what he was looking for.
"Finally, Lady Ravenclaws missing Diadem. Now to remove thee foul magic from such an artifact."
To be continued…
