Sterling clung to Knockout's pedes as he walked to the computer. She looked up at the computer as it started beeping.

"Strange...Lord Megatron it appears that Breakdown's signal has popped back online. Albeit corrupted."

"Investigate with caution. It may well be an Autobot trick." Knockout looked down at Sterling.

"I sure hope not. Breakdown may act a brute but he's a maestro behind a rotary buffer. And besides I have Sterling's well being to worry about." She clung tighter to Knockout's pedes.

Knockout's Quarters

"Mama don't leave!"

"Sterling it's Lord Megatron's orders," he said as he sat her on her berth.

"But what if you don't come back just like Daddy did?!" she squeaked. He sighed.

"Sterling. I'll come back. I promise. Everything will be ok."

"That's what daddy said...and everything wasn't ok."

"Sterling I will come back. It's just to check on that signal. To see if it really is your sire." She crossed her arms and turned her back towards him.

"Sterling...just look at me." Sterling didn't answer.

"I'll be back. Stay here, drink your energon, and try to take a nap." He kissed her helm and left a bottle of energon beside her.

"I love you Sterling." With that he left and Sterling started crying.

Later

Sterling ran to Knockout's lab. Knockout stood with his energon prod in his right servo. Silas was unconscious on the table

"Daddy!" Knockout looked behind him.

"Sterling!" She ran to the edge of the berth.

"Sterling no!" He picked her up.

"That's not your sire!"

"But that's daddy!"

"No it isn't. Not anymore. They put a human inside of his frame and the human controls his body now. He's not your sire anymore. Your sire is in the Well of Allsparks." She stared at him with fire in her red optics.

"You're lying!" She kicked his chest.

"Sterling stop it!"

"It has to be daddy!" She squirmed in Knockout's grasp and fall on the ground.

"Sterling stop!" She ran to Silas and looked up at the frame. Knockout sighed and stopped protesting. Sterling touched the broken armor. It was cold and felt lifeless. She fell backwards and started crying.

"I told you Sterling." Knockout picked her up.

"But his signal came back."

"I know." He held her against his chest as she cried on his shoulder. He walked back to their quarters. She stayed silent and kept from meeting Knockout's optics.

"I know. I hoped it was daddy too...but he's not coming back," said Knockout

"I know."
