Blaine opened the door to the restaurant and let Kurt walk in first. The last two weeks had been a little hectic, to say the least. Blaine and Kurt had never really gotten to have a Valentine's Day date, so Blaine took him out to Breadstix to make up for it.

They got a booth for two and sat down. They both flipped through the menu, even though they always ordered the same thing every time.

"Are you excited for regionals next week?" Blaine asked Kurt. His boyfriend had finally been able to join glee rehearsals again. He was a little behind on the choreography, but was catching up quickly.

"Yeah," Kurt said, fiddling with the salt shaker. "I think we're really well prepared."

They ordered their drinks, and Blaine looked over at Kurt while he was busy checking an email on his phone. He remembered how, two weeks earlier, he had watched him sleeping in the hospital, bruised and broken. Blaine remembered how scared he had been for Kurt, not knowing if he would be okay or not.

But here they were, two weeks out, and Kurt was just fine. Other than a small scar on the back of his neck, Kurt was doing great. He didn't even seem upset about the whole situation with Karofsky…

"Kurt," Blaine said.

Kurt looked up, locked his phone, and put it back in his pocket. "Sorry," he apologized. "Rachel forwarded me this audition thing from NYADA."

"Kurt, why did you decide not to take Karofsky to court?" Blaine blurted out. He realized he sounded awfully nosy; that was Kurt's personal business, but he was dying to know.

"Because," Kurt sighed, as if he had explained it a thousand times. "If he would have would up in juvie or prison it would have wrecked his whole life. Being gay is hard enough, we both know that, and I don't think he deserved a whole lifetime of consequences for one stupid choice. I'm fine now, so there's no point in dwelling on it."

Blaine was silent for a minute. He realized Kurt could have had Karofsky arrested, but he chose to forgive and forget.

"I love you," Blaine said without really thinking. Of course he meant it, but it just came out of his mouth before Blaine could think of anything to go along with it.

"I love you, too," Kurt said, grinning a little. Blaine took his hand from across the table, and knew, without a doubt, how much he really did mean it.

Author's Notes:

Extremely short and incredibly cheesy, but here's the epilogue finally!
