ShikaTema Chronicles
Chapter 2: Secret spot
(Temari)
Already my first day here I was reminded of the same boring work I did in Suna. I hated to admit it, but the only reason I still had a smile was because of Shikamaru. It seamed both of us were too occupied to talk to one another. I feared I was going to get nowhere these next few days if we stayed silent.
(Shikamaru)
I liked peace and quiet, but it worried me that such a girl was so quiet for once. Maybe she was just as bored as I was. Suddenly I struck an idea. Just 15 minutes out of Konoha limits there was a quiet and peaceful place. No one else knew about it and I went there to think and daze off. "Hey Temari lets get out of here." She looked at me as if I interrupted her thoughts. I got up and held out my hand "Come on I have a place I think you will like." She slightly blushed as she grabbed my hand.
I wasn't one to act like a gentleman; in fact I found that stuff troublesome, But Something told me though that she needed it.
(Temari)
"Where are you taking me Shikamaru?" She smirked "Heh you'll see." We left the village so I was really wondering where he was taking me. The path he chose was odd also. When we passed the gate of Konoha we took a sharp right into a very hidden place. I was convinced that no one else knew about this path.
"Here we are" Shikamaru said and pushed some bushes out of the way. In front of me laid a glistening small waterfall that fell into a crystal blue lake. I was in awe of the beauty. Living around nothing, but sand never held such places. As amazing as it was it seemed almost romantic being alone here with Shikamaru. I started to walk forward then I stopped. "What's wrong?" he asked. "Why did you bring me here?" "Um- I thought we needed a different atmosphere, ya know a break from all the preparation work." I could tell he wanted to say something else. I looked back, smiled, and said "Hm I like it."
(Shikamaru)
Before we knew it, it was getting really dark. "Hey Tema- oh." she laid down for a few a seconds and she fell asleep. She looks so peaceful asleep, id hate to wake her up. I scooped her up in my arms and carried her back to the village. I figured she hadn't found a place to stay yet so I took the liberty to lay her in a warm welcoming place.
"Shikamaru! Why are you home so late?" my mother asked. "Oh I'm sorry I didn't realize you had a guest." "Yeah she fell asleep after so much work. I'm going to lay her in my room." I laid her down, took off her headband, and covered her up. I grabbed a blanket from the closet and lied on the couch and place my hands behind my head.
"When did you become such the gentleman Shikamaru?" "Uh dad I thought you were on a mission?" "I got back early. Don't change the subject though." "Oh yeah, She had just dozed off. We were doing a lot of work today. I wasn't sure if she had a place to stay so I didn't want to be rude." "Hmph you didn't want to be rude. I know you think everything is troublesome especially girls, but I see something special between you two." That was all my father said and he headed off to bed.
I stared at the ceiling thinking about what my dad said. "I see something special between you two." I have never gone out of my way to do what I did for her. Maybe my father was right. I think I was falling for her. All I could think about before I fell asleep was the smile she had today.
