I must apologize for my lack of writing and updating. This was an idea that popped into my head. It's not the best, but it feels nice to be posting something once again.

Arthur and Merlin stood next to each other at the entrance to the tournament area. The crowds were cheering loudly and waving small flags in the air. The opponent Arthur was scheduled to face was already standing in the middle of the arena, waiting for the match to begin.

"That man's huge," said Merlin.

Arthur had to agree. The man stood well over six feet tall. His muscles were huge, bigger even than those of Percival's. "I'm sure he'll be no match for me. I am the best knight in Camelot after all," Arthur responded.

"Right you are. Break a leg while you're in there."

Arthur turned to face his manservant. Did the man really just tell him to break a leg? "Why on earth would I ever want to break my leg?"

A questioning look appeared on Merlin's face. "It's just something from an old superstition. The people in Ealdor say it to each other all the time. I take it that the people here in Camelot don't say it?"

"No, they certainly do not. They most certainly do not say it to their prince right before he's about to fight a giant of a man! A simple "good luck" would have done," replied Arthur.

A gasp came from Merlin. "You can't tell someone good luck before they go out in front of people like this! That's bad luck!"

Arthur shook his head. He didn't have time for this conversation. "Whatever, Merlin. I have a match to win." With that being said, the young prince stepped forward to meet his challenger. As he did so, he tripped over a helmet that a passing servant had just dropped and fell to the ground. A terrible pain was coming from his leg.

Merlin appeared by his side. After bending down to look at his leg, his manservant said, "When I said 'break a leg,' I didn't actually mean to go out and break your leg. It was just an expression."

"Just go find Gaius," Arthur managed to grit out from behind clenched teeth.
