Hi guys! I am really sorry for the extremely late chapter! I mean really, really sorry. But I'm back to give you guys the final chapter of this fic. Yeah, it's sad. Well, before I even start the chapter, I have to thank a few people for their continuous support and contribution to the story. First, I would like to thank TheBARHalofan197 for lending me his two OCs. They were a great contribution to the story. And I also have to thank htffan951 for continuously supporting me during my time of writing. Thank you both. Also, I have to say that, due to their only being two posted answers, the ending to the fic will be a good ending. Well, now I guess it's time for Disclaimers: I do not own Spyro or anything Spyro related. That all belongs to Sierra Entertainment. I do own my OC's. Other OC's are property of their respective owners.
Somewhere in the dragon realms
Character: Cynder
The sun had just arisen. Both Flame and Cynder had a nice and relaxing rest under the stars. But now, they knew they had to leave immediately. "Well, I guess we should probably head out. We should leave immediately if we're to find her by day-break… if she's in the area, that is," Cynder said. Flame yawned and nodded. The red dragon was lazy, but reliable. He got up and they both took off to search for the she-dragon. They both flew side-by-side, in silence. Cynder was distracted by her thoughts. She flew in wonder of how Spyro was doing, and what he's doing right now. 'Probably lying in one of those hospital beds,' Cynder thought with a little giggle. She smiled. Flame looked over and saw her smile. It seemed to be contagious, because he smiled too. Happiness. That was the one word running through both dragons' heads. It was an emotion long forgotten by any dragon. After all the destruction Malefor brought to the world, the darkness, the creatures, and the hate. It had been hard for anyone to truly be happy. Whoosh! Cynder snapped back into reality. She was being attacked! Flame flew right into her and pushed her, shoving her out of the way of a fireball. He was hit, and began to fall to the earth below. He slowly began to maneuver himself back into a flying position. Cynder tried to look at her attacker, but to no prevail. Whoever it was… whatever it was… was gone. Flame landed perfectly on the ground. Cynder landed a few yards away. She began to ask; "Flame, are you okay?" he took a step forward and fell. "Flame!" Cynder ran to his aid. "No, no, no, no, no…" she put her ear to his chest and began to listen… nothing. Flame was dead. She backed up a little bit from his body and roared a loud, harmonious, mourning roar. A single tear streamed down her face. She sat there for a while more mourning over the loss of a friend. After a while of pure sadness she walked over to her friend's body and picked him up. "I have to get him back to the temple." She then flew off as fast as she could.
Near the dragon temple
Character: Star
Star flew near the temple. It was complete luck that brought her back. It was mid-morning and the whole temple was up. Star walked into the temple and headed straight for her room. She then lay down in her bed and began to drown herself in slumber. Soon she found herself to be totally under sleep's spell. But sleep was not what the young dragon had been searching out. She slowly opened her eyes and was happy to see that she had successfully sent herself into the celestial cave. She desperately needed to speak to Ignitus. She began hopping platforms. She finally made it to the final platform, but something didn't feel right to her. She tried to shrug it off, but the feeling wouldn't go. She continued anyway. Star walked up to the well and looked in. She saw something she never thought she'd ever see again… her human self. She backed up and looked around her. In her head she started hearing voices. A bunch of whispering voices yelling at her. She couldn't make out what all of them were saying. Star fell to her stomach and hid her ears in between her two front paws. "Ahhhhh! Stop talking!" As soon as she said that, the voices all became quiet. Well, all but one. And this voice seemed to be familiar. It was the sound of her dad. The voice was saying, "Goodbye." The voice repeated that word over and over again. Star soon found herself dizzy and weak. She completely fell over and began to close her eyes. Before she passed out, she heard another voice. The voice was unrecognizable. It said one word and one word only. "He's dead." Star's slowly closing eyes dropped one tear before closing completely, and sent her into a dream… no, not a dream… a small vision. Star was in front of two dragons. Spyro and Cynder were both lying on the ground, unconscious. Star took out the letter she had found in the castle. She opened it and began reciting a few lines on the paper. 'What was once a dim dream, a night-mare maybe, will morph into a reality. And your other halves shall be awakened within you.' Star began to turn black, as did the other two dragons. 'And as the nightmare comes out of its shell, your life as one half will shatter to hell.' Star, Spyro, and Cynder were soon completely black, as did Star's vision. The world was soon very bright, a blur almost. Then all was clear to her. "I'm supposed to kill Spyro and Cynder."
Character: Spyro
In the infirmary check-out
Spyro headed towards the door of the infirmary entrance. He thanked the dragonesses at the infirmary counter and headed out to his and Cynder's room. Along the way he saw ember sitting around near another room. He decided to go and see what's up. "Hey Ember." She didn't look up at Spyro. "What's up?" She stood up and walked towards him. He just realized she was crying. "Ember, what's wrong?"
"F-Flame…," was all she could get out. Spyro looked in the room she was by and found Cynder and Flame in the room. He slowly walked in the room so he didn't disturb them. Cynder sensed someone else enter the room and turned around. She was glad to see it was Spyro. She had tears in her eyes and, now, a small smile on her face. Spyro looked at Flame and instantly knew what was going on. Flame, his friend, was dead. His confused face changed to sad and mournful as he looked at his dead friend. Ember walked in the room with tears stained below her eyes. Cynder walked near her and hugged her. Ember hugged back. "Thanks Cynder," she said in between sobs.
Spyro looked at Cynder and asked, "How did he die?" Cynder's eyes stared off into Spyro's, but they were blank. It looked like Cynder was thinking back to that exact moment. She looked at Spyro. "He died protecting me. He jumped in the way of a fireball headed straight for me." Spyro looked at flame. He walked towards his dead friend.
"Thank you… may your soul become one with this world." As he finished those words, flame's body began to glow and slowly fade. Ember walked up to Flame and hugged his body.
She whispered in his ear before he was completely faded, "I love you."The three dragons left the room and closed the door.
Near the dragon temple
Character: Iacchus's mate
She flew fast and low so she would be hard to detect. She slowly neared the dragon temple, and she knew it. She was stopped by a few former grublin soldiers. She easily took care of them with her acid breath. It incinerated the little bugs. She then continued on her way towards the temple. The temple was soon in view. She flew near the entrance. She stopped and froze in front of the door. 'What if they want to kill me because of what I've done'? She wondered this for a few minutes thinking of all the things that could happen after she walked through the door. She then thought of her mate. All of her other thoughts left her mind as she thought of Iacchus. Not thinking of anything else, she burst through the door and ran. "Iacchus, Iacchus!" She yelled his name through the halls. This attracted the attention of the few dragons in the temple. They all walked out to see who this dragoness was. No one recognized her. Well, there was one, obviously.
"Eris?" It was Iacchus. He walked out of the infirmary. "Eris!" She turned around and stopped. "Iacchus, oh my god!" She was crying. Iacchus ran towards her and grabbed her, pulling her into a hug. He then pushed her away and kissed her. The two dragons forgot about everyone else as they showed their affection.
"Aw," said the crowd of dragonesses. The other dragons just turned around and continued what they were doing before.
"Eris, I've missed you so much! I'm so sorry I left you." She looked straight in his eyes and kissed him again.
"I missed you! I don't know how but I broke free of that dark energy." The two dragons then went to a room Iacchus was assigned after he got to the temple.
Somewhere in the temple
Character: Star
She walked right to Spyro and Cynder's room to check if they were there. They were not. She walked down the halls and to her surprise was greeted by Cyril. "Why, hello there Star. It has been quite a while since I've seen you around, a day or two maybe? I forget. I'm getting too old." Star just nodded and walked past him. "Huh, that's weird. Usually she'll continue the conversation for a while. Something must be wrong." Cyril followed Star into the training area. Spyro and Cynder were both in there, training together. They didn't notice Star walk in. She snuck real close to the dragons. As she drew close, Spyro was using a fireball attack. She caught the fireball with her telekinetic powers and held it there.
"Oh, hi Star. What are you doing in here? It's dangerous to be in here while other dragons are sparring." Cynder turned around to face the little White dragon too. Just then, Star's eyes turned a deep black and she smiled. The next thing the two dragons knew, they were being attacked by Star.
Character: Cyril
Outside the training area
He looked through the door and saw all that happened. Cyril immediately ran into the room and jumped in the way of a fireball headed towards Spyro. He was hit, but didn't take much damage. He emitted some type of shield from his ice breath that shielded the two dragons behind him. "Spyro, Cynder, are you alright?" Both dragons nodded. "I think she was taken over by the darkness. I saw her eyes turn black after she caught that fireball. We need to defeat her to free her."
"I have a better idea," Spyro said. Let's draw the darkness out of her."
"Only she can do that Spyro," Cynder said.
"Well, we have to try something. I can't hurt Star. She's only a little dragoness. "
"Spyro, I feel the same way, but we have no choice right now. Our only option is to… kill her." Spyro shook his head.
"No. I will never hurt a hatchling. Not for as long as I live."
"Spyro, you need to stop being so stubborn! Our life is at stake here! We need to do this. I don't like the idea of it either, but we have no other choice." 'Crack'
"We need to hurry young dragons, she's breaking the shield," Cyril said with some fear in his voice. Cynder ran out from behind Cyril's ice shield and shot poison at Star. It missed, and she countered with a telekinetic force push. Cynder was pushed away into a wall. She got back up but was hit with another one. Spyro then jumped out and shot a volt of electricity at Star and ran at her. The volt hit successfully and stunned her for a moment. This gave Cynder enough time to retreat back behind Cyril and Spyro enough time to land another successful hit with his tail. Suddenly, Star exploded with energy and created a small solar flare, blinding Spyro for a moment. This used almost all of Star's energy. She dropped to the ground and began to breathe heavily. Spyro slowly began to regain his vision. Something said to Star, 'You're useless to me now'. Just then she began to float up in the air and glow. Her eyes glowed bright yellow, as did the rest of her body. Then the bright yellow started to turn into a deep, dark black. A figure seemed to come out of Star. The darkness... Star fell to the ground, almost dead. It took all of her life energy to remain conscious. Cynder looked behind Cyril to find Star lying down and the darkness floating above her. She was surprised to see Spyro behind them. He grabbed Star by the tail and pulled her back some more. Star shook her head and motioned for him to come closer to her. He did as she requested and came closer.
"Spyro, I'm s-sorry-," she was cut off by Spyro.
"Please, don't be sorry. It wasn't you doing that."
"I know. I meant for this." Just then she used her telekinesis ability to throw Spyro behind Cyril's Ice shield. She got out her letter from her dad and stuck it in her mouth. Out of nowhere, she let out this beam of white energy. The darkness wasn't even aware of what was going on. He turned around and was met by a huge burst of pure light. Out of shock the darkness let out a terrible scream. The whole room lit up for a moment, emitting a good energy throughout the room. As the light died down moments earlier, Star began to fade away. After the light was completely gone, Cynder looked around the shield hoping to see a well, little dragon on the floor passed out. She was terribly wrong. Well, not quite terrible.
"Spyro, she did it. She killed the darkness and took her own life." Spyro stood there, looking at where she last lay, where she took her final breath on this earth. He then thought of what she did for them. She pushed him out of the way, took her own life… The dragons stood there, reminiscing of the little dragoness. But what they didn't know was that Star wasn't dead, far from it in fact.
Character: Star
At her house in the human world
She opened her eyes immediately, unaware of where she was. She was surprised to hear a light beeping noise every second or so. She looked over to see an I.V monitor next to the bed she was lying in. She also realized she was wearing a breathing mask. She then came to the realization that she was in a hospital. "Doctor, Doctor! She's awake! Come quick!" She heard a female voice yell.
"Nurse, please call the mother and tell her to get over here immediately." The nurse dis as she was told and ran out of the room. The doctor walked over to Star and asked, "How do you feel?" He took a bright light and shined it in her eyes. "Well, how do you feel?" Star didn't even think before speaking for the first time in years.
"Fine." The doctor nodded his head and proceeded to do some more tests. Minutes later, Star's mom walked through the door with tears in her eyes. She ran over to Star, "Oh my god, Star are you alright?"
"Yes." Star's mom was surprised. She gasped and smiled.
"I'm so glad to hear your voice. I forgot how beautiful it was."
"What happened," Star asked.
"Well, I found you passed out on the street. You seemed to have hit your head on the sidewalk so I brought you to the hospital." Star gasped.
"How long was I out?"
"Honey, you were in a coma for about a month."
She stared blankly at her mother. 'So I dreamt all of that?'
"Come on Star, let's go home. I'll help you walk." Star got off of the hospital bed and walked to her mother's car.
"Wait," one of the nurses yelled.
"Yes," Star's mother said.
"I found this letter on the floor in the hospital room. It said Star's name on it. I figured it was a get well card from a classmate or something.
"Thanks," Star's mom said. She took and handed the letter to Star. She looked at the front of the envelope for a while. She finally opened it when they left the hospital parking lot. On the front of the card it said, "Dad". Star gasped. She opened it and looked at it. It read, "Dear Star,
I am sorry for not being there for you and your mother. Please, don't hate me or yourself. I disappeared for the good of a world far too greater than our own. If you're reading this letter you have also visited this world. Amazing isn't it? Dragons are amazing creatures, noble, peaceful, reliable, and for the most part, nice. My friend Ignitus should have spoken with you. I asked him not to tell you about me for your own good. Well, if you're anything like you were when you were little you would've broke him sooner or later. Either that or you found my other letter. Well, it's been swell. Lots of love, your dad, Sway.
Well, what did you guys think of the final chapter of my Tlos Fic? I think I might have rushed the chapter a little bit, if you know what I mean. Well, Again, I would like to thank TheBARHalofan197 and htffan951. You two have helped me by keeping me motivated. I am deeply sorry about all of the story hold ups along the way. Those were some minor technicalities I tried to fix along the way. Well, thanks for reading.
