Kagome watched her reflection in the mirror giddy with excitement as she looked at herself. She couldn't help it when she'd found out she was pregnant. Grabbing a nearby pillow she quietly stuffed it under her shirt and nearly teared up at the sight she made. While the bump wasn't real it looked real and she could clearly imagine herself in nine month's time looking like that.

"Kagome?" Startled the woman gasped and pulled out the pillow holding it protectively in front of her like a shield.

Sesshomaru was used to the many odd whims of his wife but seeing her play with pillows wasn't something that he had ever imagined she'd do. While the sight he'd seen was strange, the picture that she'd represented was surprising. He knew they'd talked about pregnancy recently, both deciding to finally take that plunge into parenthood but the sight she'd made brought an twinge of awe and love in his chest.

He slowly made his way into the room watching as Kagome clutched the pillow tighter in her hands. Gently loosening her grip he eased the pillow until it fell to the floor and watched as Kagome's expression went from startled to nervous.

"What's wrong?" Sesshomaru gently cupped her face kicking the pillow aside so he could stand closer to her.

Kagome wasn't sure how to respond. She'd imagined telling him that she was pregnant that night at dinner when he would ask her about the new menu. She wasn't prepared to have him see her and now she had no idea how to tell him. What happened to that giddy excitement from moments ago she wondered as she took in his slightly troubled expression. Finally, and with a sigh, she decided that she'd just somehow let it out. Yes that was what she would do. Taking his right hand she gently placed it on her stomach and meeting his gaze again told him what had brought about her perusal of the reflection in the mirror.

"I'm pregnant." She waited to see his reaction and was happy to note that he was shocked moments before his face split into a grin and he looked down at their intertwined hands.

"You're pregnant?" He seemed in disbelief, not that she blamed him. Those were her reactions when the doctor had confirmed her assumptions earlier today. Much calmer this time, she cleared his doubts.

"Yes, we're having a baby."

Sesshomaru couldn't stop the grin that spread his face. Kneeling down he placed loving kisses on his wife's stomach as he murmured to the life in there. He and Kagome hadn't been trying long for a baby- only about three months now- and he couldn't ask for a better blessing.

Kagome grinned at him as she lovingly wove her fingers into his hair. She couldn't tell what he was murmuring to their child but seeing him so happy just brought that dam on her emotions out. She had pictured this moment before many times but nothing compared to how she felt now. She was insanely happy again- happy to share this special moment with Sesshomaru. It was her first time pregnant and the man she loved was there to help her every step of the way.

"I love you both." The statement made her tear- normally things like this didn't set her off but she couldn't help it. Sesshomaru noticed them because he was up again in an instant and cradled her face in his hands. "Kagome?" He questioned simply.

"I'm just so happy." She threaded her arms around his head and kissed him quickly.

"Me too." Picking up their joined hands, he kissed them before leading the two of them towards the bed. Gently laying them down on it, he grinned at her again. Yes, he was indeed a happy man.
