"Ow, my fucking head hurts." I thought as I felt the thumping pounding pain making its way to my forehead. "What the hell happened last night?" I rubbed my head as I realized I was still in my clothes from last night. Okay at least I didn't sleep with anyone, but wait, I remember there being a guy...a really cute, handsome, and charming guy. "Where is he?" I was clearly hungover since I was seeing two of everything. There were two trees outside of this window were perfectly aligned from right to left.
Wait...did I say two trees? My senses were coming back….white sheets, wooden walls and floor, and a night dresser with a bunch of cologne. What the hell did happen last night? Clearly I had one too many drinks because of that guy. Ugh what is his name again? oh never-mind, it doesn't matter. Okay that's a lie. I'm pretty sure that I indeed passed out, but it couldn't have been right on the bar. It's happened to me before and usually Dean would just carry me to my room, I'd thank him the next morning, and buy him coffee. So whatever happened after I passed out, happened with that guy….
I walked up to the window, and sat down by it. So...I was in a cabin in the middle of a forest, well obviously, that would explain the wood. There was a little bird pecking at the window. And somehow that was enough to calm me down even though I had no idea where I was or what happened last night. I'm still in the same clothes as I was from last night so he couldn't have done anything, but the fact that I'm in a cabin in the middle of nowhere doesn't help anything.
I walked away from the pecking bird. I couldn't stop thinking how it was suppose to get better by now. I started thinking about all the events that have occurred in my life. You would think defeating Voldemort that everything would be peachy keen by now, but no. I honestly think Fred hurt me more than that bitch Bellatrix did. I walked to the chestnut colored door, and I tried turning the knob, but it wouldn't budge. Of course. The clock read 10:50 a.m. Today was June sixth. Oh boy, I forgot that it was Ginny's wedding today. I'm her bridesmaid. I guess I must have been too plastered to even be aware of anything going on.
But I won't lie, I like this room, and this cabin. Somehow I feel calm here even though it's unknown territory for me. I used to love being in the woods as a little girl. My mum would hold my hand, and my dad would be carrying our picnic basket. We'd sit down on the grass and eat it even though bugs would be attracted to it. But I didn't care. I still don't.
I was startled out of my daydream when I heard the knob being turned. I pulled out my wand, and on first instinct I yelled stupefy before whoever it was could hurt me. I heard dishes falling down the ground. "Ow.." A moan I heard coming from someone I know...I think.
"Damn Hermione, that was uncalled for." George?! Oh shit. Running to the front of the door stood George laying on the ground with what looked like to be breakfast for me, and I ruined it. "Reparo," I muttered, laying my wand on the night-dresser.
"I wouldn't exactly say that was uncalled for," I snapped at him, "I woke up this morning in a place I had no idea that even existed."
He opened his mouth to defend himself, but then closed it. He knew I was right.
"What exactly happened last night?" I asked, crossing my arms.
"You passed out." He simply said.
"I was with Drew." I responded cautiously.
"Who's Dre-"
"That's not important right now!" I half-yelled interrupting him, "I did not see you last night."
"Alright, alright. Calm down. Please sit." He gestured with his hands for me to sit down. I sat at the edge of the bed.
"What did you do George?" I complained.
"You weren't ever going to come home. It's been three weeks. Mum is worried, Fred is frantic, and everyone else misses you." He confessed, his face contorting, "I can't keep lying to Fred. He's my other half. I almost lost him in the war."
"George…."
"I drugged you." He spat out.
"What?!" I screamed, jumping off from the bed.
"Wait just listen to me." I huffed.
"Drew was me." My eyes widen, "I know it doesn't look like it, but I was really trying to help you."
"Are you kidding me?" I gave him a look that said otherwise.
"Don't you feel better you talked about it?" George questioned.
"I suppose.." I admitted, "So...where did you find him? Did he know? Or did you drug him to?"
"That bloke was a muggle." My mouth shot wide up.
"You're telling you attacked a poor muggle boy?" I asked almost half shouting.
"Hey," George replied defending himself, "I did not attack him. I gave him a potion. Which so happened caused him to sleep, but he's safe now so don't worry."
"Why did you do this?"
"Did you forget that today was Ginny's wedding?"
"Up until today, yes I forgot about it." I replied blissfully. Dean had told me a week ago, and made me promise that I would attend, but I completely forgot about it. Clearly I had been in my own little world.
"Well you kinda of have to be there…"
"Okay, no." I stopped him there, "What is this place?"
"I bought this cabin." George said casually, "And don't try to change the subject." He added.
"Sorry...I just don't wanna go."
"You're her bridesmaid….are you really not gonna go?" He inquired.
"What about Fred?" My eyes not making contact with George's.
"Well, you can't avoid him. And I don't know if this will make you feel better but he's been a miserable sap ever since you've been gone." I looked up at him to see if he was actually being serious. He didn't smile...not even a grin.
"Please Hermione."
"Fine," I finally answered, "I can't avoid him forever."
"Hermione!" Ginny squealed as soon as I walked in through the door to her bedroom.
"Hi…." I said sheepishly, "I know I shouldn't have run away. I'm mortified."
She pulled me into a hug, "Well I should be blaming myself because I'm the one who tried to force you to talk to Fred so it's kinda my fault you ran away." She released me from the hug, but was still holding onto both of my hands, "I'm glad you came back."
"Well...I'm your bridesmaid after all.." I replied shrugging my shoulders, "Where's my dress?"
She led me over to where the other bridesmaids were. Luna, who always looked so innocent, was combing her long-wavy-blonde hair. Lavender Brown, she had to be a bridesmaid because she's marrying Ron..ew, was doing her makeup. Penelope, who I think hates me because of the look she was giving me, was putting on her shoes. Angelina, who smiled warmly at me, was sitting patiently. I knew I'd always liked her.
"Here," The dress was beautiful. It was lavender, the dress was strapless giving it a more subtle look, and with added ruffles at kneelength. It matched amazingly with the black-strapped-heels.
After about ten minutes, after putting on my makeup on and combing my hair, Molly came in and told us it was time. As we walked outside, I could see Harry's palms sweating. I chuckled, but then again I don't think sweating palms will be my problem. I am, after all, marrying Fred.
I was the last one so I watched as Lavender took Ron's arm, Penelope take Percy's arm, George take Angelina's arm, and Luna take Neville's arm. Finally, it was my turn, and I had Fred. He seemed okay, but from what Ginny and George had said, it had to be some sort of act. I linked my arm with his, and immediately I felt my body stiffen.
"Where have you been?" Fred whispered into my ear. He didn't seem that angry, but what do I know? He hates me.
"Leaky Cauldron." I replied. I don't know why I did. It's not like he deserves it. However, that seemed to satisfy him because he didn't ask anymore questions. So we walked in peace for the next thirty seconds. It was nice. When we got to the front where Kingsley was standing, I began to move away, however, Fred grabbed my hand and kissed it. As I walked away, I couldn't stop thinking about it.
Even on my hand, I could feel the warmness of his lips. Why does have Fred have to do this to me? I hate him, but I still love him at the same time. Just like I did when we broke up. But I had to push those thoughts out of my hand. This is Ginny's day.
"You okay?" Angelina turned and whispered to me.
"I'm assuming you saw what Fred did.." She nodded, "I'm really confused."
"I know we're not really friends, but if you ever need someone to talk to, I'm here." I looked at her with this newfound admiration.
"Thank you." I replied, and she turned her back away.
The music changed, and everyone stood up. Harry looked so happy as he saw Ginny walking down the aisle with Arthur. They only had eyes for each other. Everyone in the garden could see how much in love they were with each other. Mr. Weasley kissed his daughter's hand and then released her. In no moments time, they were both standing in front of Kingsley.
"Today we are here today to-" Before he could say another word, explosions erupted from the ground. Everybody began to ran for cover. Meanwhile, I was hiding with Angelina by the tent where the reception would be held. After about a minute, the explosions stopped, but there was a message written in the sky. Angelina appeared horrified as did I. It was for me…..
It read….
"You shouldn't have come back Hermione. Now I'll make your life hell."
I felt sick, I felt like I could throw up again, but I didn't. My head was spinning from all the confusion, and pain.
I was falling again, darkness consumed me quickly, and the last thing I heard was, "Hermione!" coming from Fred.
A/N: apologies for taking forever, and forever to update. Anyway I hope there's not too many grammar errors. I've been on a plane all day and just settled in now lol.
