Until We Meet Again
After the two members of the Organization left, a giant Pureblood Heartless appeared on the outskirts of Crocus, the capital of Fiore. The three Keyblade wielders and the three teams of mages, who worked with them since they arrived to Earth Land, fought together against the Heartless. Natsu and Sora performed a Unison Raid attack and destroyed the Heartless completely and now the world was safe.
The Keybearers and the mages returned to the city to see how the others were doing and to tell them the good news. The mages who were in the city told the group that they saw the giant Heartless from where they were and how it was destroyed by a huge bright explosion of fire.
While the mages and the Keybearers were helping the soldiers, the Rune Knight known as Lahar told Sora that the king wanted to see him, much to his surprise, but he wasn't going to say no to him, so he went to the castle without thinking twice.
Now the Keyblade wielder was in the throne room, talking with the king, Toma E. Fiore. Sora found kind of funny that Fiore's king had the same height as King Mickey, but Toma was human of course, a short man with white hair and wearing striped overalls, held up by a belt at the waist, under a cape.
"First of all, Sora, I wanted to thank you for all the things you've done since you arrived in Fiore," the king said. "Thanks to you, the Heartless couldn't destroy our home, and I'm really grateful for it."
"It's nothing, Your Majesty," Sora said smiling. "I'm always glad to be of help."
"Of course, I also want to thank you for saving my daughter," said Toma. "Let me say that you were incredible in that fight against the boy with the black coat."
"Huh? You saw that?" asked Sora really surprised.
"Of course," the king replied with a smile. "The moment my daughter told me about it, I sent the Royal Army to see what was happening, but I wanted to see it with my own eyes, so I used the Lacrima Vision to see what was going on. I enjoy being entertained, usually by watching good fights, and yours was one of the best I've ever seen."
"Thanks," Sora laughed slightly. "He's more easy-going than I expected."
"Now, about your reward…" the king began, but Sora interrupted him before he could continue.
"Ah, that's not necessary," the boy said. "I don't need anything, seriously."
"Well, I can't let you leave with empty hands," the king said while touching his chin in a thinking gesture. "Oh, how about I give you full permission to enter the castle anytime you want? This way, if something happens again, you won't get in trouble again."
"Oh, I'll accept your offer then, it could be useful someday," Sora said smiling and then he started to stand up, since he was kneeling. "Now I should leave, my friends are waiting for me outside."
"Very well," the king said. "I wish you luck in your journeys, and I hope you visit us again, I'd really like to see you fight again someday."
"Sure," the Keyblade wielder said before start leaving the throne room and walk to the exit of the castle. As he walked towards the exit, Sora was praised by some soldiers and Rune Knights that were there, it looks like his reputation between them improved greatly after the last battles.
Sora reached the door that led outside, but before he could open it, someone started to call his name and he turned and saw that it was the princess the one who was doing it.
"Hey, Prin-I mean, Hisui, how are you?" Sora asked.
"I'm fine, thanks for asking," Hisui said. "I heard that everything is over now, you could defeat all the Heartless who were trying to attack the castle."
"That's right," Sora affirmed, "but it wasn't just me, my friends, the Royal Army and the Rune Knights also did a good work."
"You're too modest, but that's how a hero is, right?" Hisui said with a cute smile on her face.
"I guess I'm not a junior hero anymore," thought Sora, remembering the satyr who granted him that title. "Well, I should go now, Hisui, there are people waiting for me outside."
"Before you leave, could you…" Hisui said and then she made a gesture with her hand to tell Sora to bend down a little. The Keyblade wielder thought that Hisui wanted to whisper him something, so he had to do that since she was smaller than him, however she gave him a kiss on the cheek instead, which caught him by surprise.
"I wish you good luck in your travels, and I hope you return to Fiore someday to visit us," Hisui said with a smile and a blush coloring her cheeks.
Sora left the castle after that curious scene and he saw Riku and Kairi waiting for him on the other side of the bridge that connected the castle's island with the city.
"Took you long enough," Riku said. "Hey, what's with that look on your face?"
"Oh, nothing," said Sora a bit nervous.
"The way you said it is suspicious…" Kairi said smiling teasingly.
"Can we change the topic, please?" Sora asked.
"If you insist…" Riku said. "I went to the Gummi Ship while you were in the castle and I talked with Yen Sid."
"Really?" said Sora surprised. "What did you talk about?"
"He wants us to return to the tower tomorrow morning," Riku answered. "He told me about what are we going to do to prepare ourselves for the battle against Xehanort."
"And what is it?" asked Kairi.
"Sora, Donald and Goofy have to look for something called the Key to Return Hearts," Riku explained, "and Mickey and I have to search for previous Keyblade wielders."
"Previous Keyblade wielders?" asked Sora with curiosity. "There are more Keyblade wielders out there?"
"Yes, it looks like there were three Keyblade wielders who fought against Xehanort before us," Riku said. "We'll have to find them since they can be the other Guardians of Light we need."
"Wait a moment," Kairi said. "What about me?"
"You and Lea still have to continue your training," Riku smiled and the girl pouted.
"Key to Return Hearts…" Sora mused, crossing his arms.
"I'm not sure what it is, you should ask Yen Sid about it," Riku said.
"So…tomorrow morning, huh?" said Kairi.
"Yeah, we'll sleep here one more night and leave as soon as possible tomorrow after saying goodbye to our guilds," Riku said.
"Could we meet at Magnolia?" asked Kairi. "I'd rather have Sora as the pilot of the Gummi Ship this time."
"You're getting annoying, you know?" said Riku, looking at Kairi, who just poked her tongue at the Keyblade Master while Sora laughed at the two.
After helping the people of Crocus, the Keyblade wielders and mages returned to their guilds. It was late when they arrived, so the first thing they did was to go to sleep, besides, they Keybearers didn't have much time to do other things.
The next morning Sora woke up and went to the guild to say goodbye to all the mages of Fairy Tail. He was feeling kind of sad since he never liked farewells, but the boy had to leave so he couldn't do anything about it. The moment he arrived at Fairy Tail, everyone in the guild greeted him.
"There he is…the hero of Fiore!" Macao cheered while raising his mug of beer and everyone started to cheer as well.
"Hey, what's with the long face, Sora?" Levy asked and the boy sighed.
"I…I have to leave," said Sora with a sad smile, which surprised everyone since they didn't expect Sora to leave so soon.
"Already?" asked Natsu and Sora nodded.
"We were going to have a party," Lucy said. "Can't you stay for a little longer?"
"Come on kids, don't make this more difficult for him," Makarov said as he walked to where Sora was. "I suppose Yen Sid has another mission for you, am I right?"
"Yes, I have work to do," Sora replied. "The battle against Xehanort is near and we must prepare ourselves, so Riku, Kairi and I have a lot of things to do."
"I understand," the master said and he shook hands with the Keyblade wielder. "I'm glad you accepted to join Fairy Tail and there aren't enough words of gratitude to thank you for what you've done for us."
"And I'm glad to be part of this guild," Sora said with a smile that Makarov returned.
"Now I let you say goodbye to the others before you leave," the master said before leaving.
The mages of Fairy Tail started to say goodbye to Sora one by one. Cana told him that when he returns, they should have a drink together, but Sora didn't know what to say to her. The Strauss siblings hugged the Keyblade wielder after talking, and it would have been nice if it wasn't for Elfman's back-breaking hug.
Now the boy was talking with the Iron Dragon Slayer and with his partner Lily.
"I hope we can spar again someday, Gajeel, Lily," said Sora.
"I'm looking forward to it," Lily smiled.
"You better be stronger the next time we see, because we will be," Gajeel smirked and he and Sora shook hands.
Then Sora approached Team Shadow Gear.
"It will be weird not seeing you around here anymore," Jet said.
"When you return, we should go on another mission," Droy commented.
"Sure, although the mission about retrieving that ring was kind of useful with the Heartless problem," Sora said, and then Levy hugged him, which surprised him and shocked the other members of Shadow Gear.
"I'm going to miss you, Sora," the bluenette said before letting go. "Don't forget about us, okay?"
"Don't worry, I wouldn't be able to forget about you even if I wanted to," Sora said grinning and Levy returned the smile.
After that, Sora walked towards the members of Team Natsu. He spent more time with them so it was more difficult for him to say goodbye to those mages.
"I'm not good at farewells, so bear with me," said the Keyblade wielder.
"You travel a lot, shouldn't you be used to this?" Gray asked.
"Well, it's the second time I spent more than one day in a world so it's more difficult," Sora answered. "Anyway, I'm going to miss you guys."
"Sora-san, thank you for fulfilling your promise," Wendy said while she hugged the boy. "You said you were going to save our world and you did it. I hope you can help more people out there."
"But try not to get into a lot of trouble," Carla added and Sora laughed slightly.
"Right, I'll try to be more careful," the spiky boy said before looking at Gray and shaking hands with him.
"Make sure you stay alive, I wouldn't want to hear that something happened to you," Gray said.
"They won't be able to stop me," Sora assured with a smirk. "Besides, we made a deal, right?"
"True," the Ice Mage replied while the others wondered what they were talking about.
"Erza," began Sora, but before he could continue, the redhead put her hand on the boy's head. Sora closed his eyes since he expected his face to hit the young woman's armor, but this time Erza was gentler with her hug, which surprised the Keyblade wielder.
"You did a great job, thank you for everything," Erza said. "Wherever you go, remember that you'll always have a home here."
"Yes, I won't forget that," he said before the redhead let go of him, then he looked at Natsu and the two smirked and fist-bumped.
"We have to repeat what we did against that Heartless someday," Sora said.
"Yeah, come back soon so we can fight together again," the Dragon Slayer said. "And give Xehanort a punch in the face from me."
"You got it!" Sora said.
"Good luck, Sora!" Happy said. "Bring me a fish from your home when you return!"
"Sure, I'll see what I can do," said the boy smiling before turning to the blonde Celestial Mage, the first person he met when he arrived in Fiore.
"Well, Lucy…" said Sora, trying to come up with something to say. "I'm glad we met that day, if it wasn't for you, I don't know if I would have joined this guild."
"I don't know if you should be thanking me," Lucy said with a smile. "You are the one who saved me that day."
"You would have done the same thing for me," Sora affirmed and then he extended his hand which caused Lucy to raise an eyebrow.
"A handshake? Don't you have a hug for me?" asked Lucy smiling at the Keyblade wielder.
"Huh? I…" Sora said, kind of surprised that Lucy said that.
"Come here," the blonde said before pulling the Keyblade wielder into a hug. "Take care, okay? We're going to miss you a lot, so make sure you come back."
"Of course," Sora said. "I promise we'll see each other again."
After saying goodbye to everyone, Sora started to walk towards the exit of the guild and, as he walked, he raised his hand and made the sign that the mages taught him and they did the same.
Sora walked to the place where he was going to meet with Riku and Kairi. As he walked, he noticed that there was something in his pocket, so he checked it and pulled out a paper, which turned out to be a request from the guild's board. Sora wondered what it was doing in his pocket and he started to read it out of curiosity.
"Request for the Keyblade wielder of Fairy Tail, Sora," he read. "We ask you to defeat the man known as Xehanort and save the worlds so you can return to Fiore someday. The reward is a party in your honor in Fairy Tail."
Sora smiled after he read the request, he was happy they wrote that and he had to make sure he fulfilled the request, after all, he completed all the missions he took as a member of the guild. There was something else in his pocket, a picture of all the members of Fairy Tail, hanging out inside the guild. It looks like the mages wanted Sora to have something that reminded him of them.
The boy continued walking and saw Riku and Kairi waiting for him.
"How did you get here so fast?" asked a surprised Sora.
"I guess we're better with farewells than you," Riku answered smiling and Sora sighed.
"So, are you ready?" Kairi asked.
"Yeah," Sora affirmed with determination. "Let's return to Yen Sid's tower, fulfill his tasks and defeat Xehanort once and for all!"
THE END
And finally, the story is finished! I hope everyone liked this story as much as I enjoyed writing it. The story will continue with Kingdom Hearts III, so…you know…:D Anyway, let me know if you liked this crossover!
To Great fan-M: If you are referring to what Riku said in the trial, he wasn't talking about the battle against the 1000 Heartless, he was just exaggerating the number of Heartless Sora defeated the last time he transformed into a Heartless, so the others believed that he never attack innocent people while transformed.
To AnimeMasterDub: Well, I write my stories in a Word Document , then I go to Doc Manager in my profile and submit the document (method: file upload; format: story). Then I go to New Story and publish it after choosing the category.
Now I'll talk about the next stories, now that this one is over:
A crossover with the first season of Digimon is in my list, but it will take place before this one and the crossover with Soul Eater, specifically after the events of Chain of Memories.
However, I can also start writing the continuation of this story. It will be in the normal fanfiction section since it will have a lot of characters in it: Disney, FF, the cast of Soul Eater and Fairy Tail will appear again, FMAB, SAO, Shingeki no Kyojin, RWBY, etc.
This story takes place after the defeat of Xehanort and it will be long, I haven't planned and end to it, so it's obvious that the crossover with Digimon will end before that one if I write them at the same time.
Here is a small scene with the characters of Fairy Tail as a "preview" to that story:
Year X791 in Earth Land
Fairy Tail Guild, Magnolia Town
"Oh boy, I'm exhausted," Lucy said after she sat next to her friend Levy, who was reading something.
"Another mission with Natsu and the others?" the bluenette asked without stop reading.
"Yeah…" the blonde replied. "It was supposed to be easy, we had to defeat a band of thugs, but Natsu, Gray and Erza ended up destroying part of the city and we didn't get the reward…"
"Sorry Lucy, I overdid it again," said Erza, after sitting with the girls.
"It's okay, but it would have been nice to get the reward," the Celestial Mage said, and then the other members of Team Natsu approached the three girls.
"Well, there are a lot of missions in the board," Gray said.
"Want to go on another mission, Lucy?" Natsu asked.
"We can take one we can complete quickly and with a good reward," Happy added.
"Let's take a break, okay? Lately we've been working a lot," Lucy said.
"Well, you know that, after the Grand Magic Games, we've been getting many requests that nominate mages," Erza said smiling.
"Everyone got really popular after that," Wendy commented.
"Even so, I don't know why they pair me with this idiot," Gray said, looking at Natsu. "It's impossible to work with him."
"I should be the one saying that, Ice Pervert!" Natsu exclaimed and the two were about to fight, but Erza knocked out the two mages before they could do anything.
"These two never learn…" Carla said. "They are one of the reasons we never get a reward for the missions."
"Well, we can't do anything about it," said Lucy, and then she noticed that Levy was reading a magazine. "Hey, is that the Sorcerer Magazine?"
"Yes, it is," Levy answered. "It looks like after we disappeared they've been adding some interesting sections to the magazine."
"Now that you said it," Wendy began while looking at some male mages of the guild, "the others are also reading the magazine with a great interest."
"Actually, I think they're looking for Jenny's naked pictures…" said an annoyed Levy.
"Oh right, the bet she made with Mira," Erza remembered.
"Men…" Carla muttered before looking at Levy. "And what kind of sections they added?"
"Well, now there's one about who's the strongest mage of each Mages Guild, another one about the new kinds of monsters that some people discovered," Levy replied. "There is also one about the best books of the kingdom and that's the one I'm interested in."
"It sure has changed," Lucy said, looking at the magazine Levy had in her hands. "Hey, what's that section?"
"Oh, it looks like they got a person who writes about things that happen in other worlds," Levy explained.
"That doesn't sound very credible, don't you think?" Gray commented.
"Yeah, we know about the existence of other worlds, like Edolas," Erza said, "but how can that person know about what's happening out there?"
"Maybe with that person has an informer out there," Levy said. "Anyway, some articles of that section are entertaining to read, so they didn't remove it from the magazine."
After talking about the magazine, Levy continued reading and she read something that stunned her. The other mages noticed the expression on her face and asked her about it.
"Levy-san, what's wrong?" Wendy asked.
"Did you see Jenny's pictures?" Happy asked.
"N-no, it's…something I just read in that section about other worlds…" the bluenette said, who was still shocked.
"What did you read?" Erza asked.
"It looks like a new guild was formed in a world called Radiant Garden," Levy said.
"Oh, a new Mages Guild?" asked Natsu. "Are they strong?"
"Is that the only thing he cares about?" Lucy and Wendy thought.
"No, it's not a Mages Guild…" said Levy.
"Then?" asked Gray.
"It's a Keyblade wielders Guild," the girl said.
Suddenly everyone in Fairy Tail was silent and Team Natsu looked dumbfounded at the girl. Then the image of a boy with brown spiky hair and blue eyes appeared in everyone's mind.
"Oh my god…" Lucy said, covering her mouth with her hand out of astonishment.
"C-could it be?" Wendy stuttered.
"Hey, Macao!" called an upset Natsu. "Did he come back to the guild while we were asleep in the island and you didn't tell us!?"
"Of course not!" the man replied. "If he had visited us, you know I would have told you!"
"Levy, does the magazine say more about that guild?" asked Erza, still kind of shocked, and Levy looked at the magazine.
"The guild has ten members, but they haven't written any names," Levy read.
"Ten Keyblade wielders…" Happy muttered.
"We've only known three, so that is a large number," Erza commented while crossing her arms in a thinking gesture.
"I can't believe I almost forgot about him," Lucy said. "I feel bad now…"
"That makes two of us…" said a sad Wendy.
"Seven years…he should be twenty two years old," said Mirajane, who was listening to the conversation, as well as the other members of the guild.
"Oh wow, he is older than most of us now…" Lisanna said.
"There's something weird about this," Erza said with her arms crossed.
"Yeah, I wonder why he hasn't come back to Fiore in seven years," said Cana.
"Do you think he forgot about us?" asked Happy.
"That would not be like him, don't you think?" Carla said.
"What if he's not one of those ten Keyblade wielders?" said Warren.
"That would explain why he hasn't come back…" Max said and the Natsu hit the table hard with both hands.
"Hey, don't even think about that!" he exclaimed. "He won and you can't say otherwise!"
"Sorry…" said Warren and Max, scared of the sudden outburst the Dragon Slayer had.
"Master," called Erza, looking at Makarov, "you are friends with a former Keyblade Master, right? Have you talked with him after we returned?"
"That's right, you could say that my friend was his master, more or less," Makarov said. "I'd lie if I tell you that I haven't tried to call him, however my friend doesn't respond so I don't know more than you."
"Could it be that time flows differently in his world?" Levy said. "Maybe seven years here are one or two years in other worlds."
"No, I can assure you that seven years here are seven years in other worlds, at least the ones I know," Makarov said.
"Now that you said that, I remembered something," Romeo said.
"What is it, Romeo?" Natsu asked.
"Some weeks after you guys and the island disappeared," the boy explained, "there was an article in that section that talked about alterations that some worlds suffered one day."
"Like what?" asked Erza.
"Some worlds increased their size, others disappeared while some new worlds appeared…" said Romeo, "and others suffered a temporary change in how the time flows in them."
"So…you're saying that…" Natsu said while trying to understand what the boy said.
"Possibly, while seven years have passed in Earth Land, in other worlds were just one year, maybe not even one…" Lucy said.
"Yeah, everything is normal now, but that day something happened and…well, you know the rest," Romeo said.
"I wonder how much time has passed out there then," Gray said. "I don't know about you guys, but I find hard to imagine him older than me."
"Well, I would be still younger than him," Wendy said.
"Who knows…maybe if the incident on the island hadn't happened, you would be older than him, Wendy," Levy said smiling.
"By the way, Master," Erza began, "why did you call your friend? Is there something wrong?"
"No, I was just worried so I wanted to know how he and the others were doing," the master answered. "Besides, I wanted to see if the boy wanted to participate in the Grand Magic Games with us."
"He would have been really helpful," Lucy smiled. "I wonder what he is doing right now."
"Probably saving more worlds," Gray said jokingly and the other laughed.
"Levy, does the magazine say something more about that guild?" Erza asked, looking at Levy.
"Just that there are ten members…oh, the name of the guild appears as well," she replied.
"What's it called?" asked Lucy.
"Light Guardians."
