Chapter I

Magnolia Town

Lanes Between
Day 0

At this moment, the brown-haired Keyblade wielder known as Sora was returning to the Mysterious Tower to report back to Yen Sid, the sorcerer and former Keyblade Master who gave him his last mission. A city was being attacked by the Heartless, and since Sora is someone who had saved worlds from those monsters several times, he was sent to that city while his friends trained to prepare themselves for the upcoming battle against the Keyblade Master called Xehanort.

Before he could arrive to Yen Sid's tower, Sora started hearing a sound that came from the Gummi Ship he was using to travel. It looks like someone was trying to communicate with him, so he pushed a button and a small screen appeared on his right. A boy with short silver hair and blue-green eyes appeared on the screen.

"Hey Riku, what's up?" said Sora, who was happy to see a familiar face.

"I can't complain," answered Riku with a smile. "What about you? Did you finish your mission in Death City?"

Sora nodded. "The city is safe and clear of Heartless. I'm heading to the tower now."

"That won't be necessary," Riku said, and Sora looked at him confused. "It seems that there's another place that needs your help with the Heartless now. Yen Sid left the tower to talk with Merlin and he asked me to tell you."

Sora sighed since he was hoping to see his friends again. Besides, he knew that Riku was training Kairi, and he wanted to help, but if there was a world that had a problem with the Heartless, then he could wait to see his friends.

"Where and how bad is the invasion?" asked Sora.

Riku smiled. "I'll send the coordinates to your ship. Regarding the Heartless, it's just an average invasion, like the one in Death City."

"That's not actually true, but I'd better keep that for myself," thought Sora. "Hey Riku, how-"

"You know how the others are doing?" Riku successfully concluded and Sora nodded. "Well, as you know, I'm helping Master Yen Sid with Kairi's training. You know she has to improve as soon as possible. Mickey, Donald and Goofy are still protecting the Princesses of Heart. Oh, and I think Lea is still in Radiant Garden."

"We're all busy, huh?" said Sora.

Riku chuckled. "Well, you know we must be ready for what is coming. Anyway, I don't know if the people of that world know you're going there, so try to make a good impression."

"Hey, I always make a good impression," Sora said grinning.

"If you say so," said Riku before hanging up.

Fiore, Earth Land
Day 0

In the middle of a city, two people could be seen surrounded by the creatures known as Heartless. One of them was a young man with a slightly tan skin tone, black eyes, and spiky pink-colored hair. The other one was also a young man, but he had spiky black-colored hair, dark blue eyes and, for some reason, he wasn't wearing a shirt.

"These things are becoming more annoying day by day," the black-haired guy said.

"What's the matter, Gray?" asked the pink-haired guy. "Are these monsters too much for you?"

"Please, I could defeat all these guys without your help!" Gray replied.

"Alright, let's see who destroys more monsters, then!" Natsu exclaimed. He started inhaling and then released a large burst of fire that destroyed a great amount of Heartless.

"Fine by me, Natsu!" said Gray, and then he used his hands to create multiple lances made of ice that impaled several Heartless.

The Heartless that were around them were destroyed, but then more appeared but the two guys, called Natsu and Gray, continued using their magic attacks to eliminate them. After half an hour, the Heartless gave up and retreated.

Natsu and Gray were tired because of the battle. Since the Heartless started to appear in their city, they've been fighting them to protect the people who lived there. The Heartless never got tired, so the two mages had to battle the dark monsters until they get bored and leave.

"Natsu, Gray!" shouted someone from above. It was a blue cat with wings.

"Happy!" Natsu said with a smile. "How are the others?"

"They already defeated the monsters that were in the part of the city where they are," Happy answered. "Are you two alright?"

"Of course, these things don't stand a chance against me," Natsu said confidently.

"Whatever you say," said Gray, much to Natsu's annoyance. "Anyway, these monsters are more troublesome than I expected they would be. If we don't find a way to get rid of them, we'll have serious problems."

"Don't worry about it; I'm sure we'll find a way," Natsu said before looking at the blue cat. "Happy, did Gramps say something about what should we do now?"

"No, just that after we finish we should go to sleep to regain strength for tomorrow," Happy replied.

"Then I'll leave," Gray said as he walked away from them. "See you tomorrow at the guild."

"Bye, Gray!" said Happy, and then he looked at the pink-haired boy. "Natsu, let's go home too."

"Yeah, you're right," said Natsu.

Magnolia Town
Day 1

It took Sora one day to arrive at the world where, according to what Yen Sid told Riku, the Heartless started to appear. He was now in a town that looked really peaceful, so Sora decided to walk around to see if the Heartless decided to appear and attack him, like they always do.

The boy jumped to a roof when no one was looking and saw that the town possessed a large built-up area, extending over a large, rectangular surface to the shores of a lake called Lake Scilliora, splitting the town vertically and horizontally is a series of large roads. Located almost in the middle of the town there was a big cathedral, and in the northernmost part of the city, sitting on the shore of Lake Scilliora, there was a huge building that caught Sora's attention. He wondered what was that place and who lived here, so he decided to go there. Maybe the people who were there could tell him if they saw the Heartless.

The Keyblade wielder returned to the ground and started walking to that huge building that was near the lake's shore. There weren't many people in the streets, so it was normal that the Heartless weren't around, but maybe there weren't many people around because of the Heartless.

"I hope no one got hurt while I was on my way here," thought Sora, and then he started to hear something far away. It sounded as if someone was fighting, so he started running to see if it were the Heartless.

After a few seconds, the brown-haired boy arrived to a street, and he could see someone fighting the Heartless near a stone bridge. It was a blonde girl and by her side there was what it looked to be a Minotaur with a big axe. The two of them must have been fighting the Heartless for a while since they looked really tired.

Much to Sora's surprise, the Minotaur suddenly vanished, leaving the blonde girl alone with the Heartless. The girl walked away from the Heartless, but the wall behind her didn't let her move as much as she wanted. She fell to the ground, out of energy, and one of the Heartless charged at her. She closed her eyes in anticipation, but nothing happened.

Since she didn't feel anything, the girl opened her right eye to see why the dark monster didn't attack her, and saw that it was because someone was now fighting against them, a boy with brown spiky hair. They boy was defeating all the monsters one by one with ease, and this impressed her a lot. It was the first time she saw someone taking care of those monsters without having any trouble. It was as if the boy she was looking at had fought against them before.

"Who is he?" thought the girl before noticing the strange weapon the boy used to fight. It looked like an oversized key, and that made the blonde really curious.

After destroying all the Heartless that was going to attack the blonde girl, Sora started to look around, making sure that no more started to appear. The street looked clear, so Sora made the Keyblade vanish, much to the girl's surprise.

"Those were a lot of Heartless for just one person," Sora muttered.

"Heartless?" thought the girl. She wondered if that was the name of those monsters. If he knew what they're called, then she was right about the boy, he had fought against them before.

"Are you okay?" asked Sora, who was know knelt in front of the blonde girl, looking at her with a smile and offering his hand to help her standing up.

The girl didn't know what it was, but there was something really genuine about the boy who was in front of her. For some reason, she felt really comfortable with him, and she didn't even know his name. She returned the smile and took the boy's hand, but suddenly he was sent flying to the water by someone who just came running at high speed and kicked him.

"Luckily we made it in time," the pink-haired boy who just kicked Sora said.

"Lucy, are you okay?" said a blue cat that was with the boy with pink hair.

"Natsu, why did you do that!?" asked the blonde girl called Lucy. She couldn't believe what her friend just did to the person who saved her.

Natsu looked confused at Lucy. "We heard that you were being attacked in front of your house, so we came here as fast as we could."

"And then Natsu saw that person near to you and thought he was attacking you, so he kicked him away," the blue cat continued.

Lucy sighed. "Actually, the boy who you just kicked saved me from the dark monsters. They were the ones who were attacking me."

"O-oh, really?" said Natsu, who started to feel guilty for what he did.

"Natsu, maybe you should have asked before…" the cat said.

"Hey, what was that for!?" asked an annoyed Sora, who was climbing the wall to get out of the water.

"Please forgive him, he thought you were attacking me," said Lucy, who was kind of worried. She knew how these kinds of situations ended. When Natsu made someone angry, he and the other person ended up fighting. She wanted the brown-haired boy to forgive Natsu, but she didn't have her hopes up.

Sora sighed. "Well, if it was a misunderstanding, then don't worry about it."

"Really?" asked Natsu surprised. "You're not mad or anything?"

Lucy was also really surprised that Sora forgave the pink-haired boy so easily. The blonde thought the two were going to start fighting as soon as the boy who saved her got out of the water, but it seemed that he was really forgiving. She had to admit that it was refreshing, meeting someone who wasn't as conflictive as other people she knew.

"Well, surely I'd have done the same if a friend was in danger," said Sora smiling.

Natsu smiled. "I knew you were a good guy."

"Why did you kick him, then?" thought Lucy.

"Oh, and thank you for saving Lucy from the monsters," said the boy with pink spiky hair. "I'm Natsu, and this is Happy."

"Aye!" said the flying blue cat.

"I'm Lucy," the blonde said, and Sora looked at her. "Thank you for helping me. What's your name?"

"Sora," the Keyblade wielder replied. "And no need to thank me. I saw you were in trouble, so I wasn't going to leave without doing anything, right?"

"You must be very strong if you could defeat all the monsters on your own," Happy said.

Lucy nodded. "There were a lot of them, and he could defeat them really fast. It wasn't the first time you fought against Heartless, right?"

"Heartless?" asked Natsu and Happy confused.

"That's what they're called," answered Lucy before looking at Sora. "I heard you calling them that, so I'm not wrong, right?"

"Oh, you heard me? Yes, they're called Heartless," said Sora. "I started fighting against them more than a year ago."

"For that long!?" asked a shocked Lucy. "How come we never heard about them before? They started attacking Fiore a few days ago and no one knew what they were. "

"Well, I'm not from Fiore," said Sora kind of nervous.

"Oh, so you're from another kingdom," said Happy.

"I…" said Sora, who didn't know what to answer.

"Anyway, if you've been fighting them for so long, then you must know how to stop them, right?" asked Lucy. "We and our friends fight against them every day, but they continue appearing."

"I know they are really a problem when they focus on a particular place," Sora replied touching his chin, and then he smiled. "Fortunately, I know a way to stop them from appearing."

"Really? That's great!" said Natsu.

"They're all over the kingdom," said Happy. "Are you sure it's going to work?"

"It worked before, so I don't see why it would fail now," said Sora reassuringly, and then he noticed that Lucy had a pensive expression on her face. The Keyblade wielder thought that maybe she didn't believe him, and he was going to blame her.

"What is it, Lucy?" asked Natsu, and this made the girl look at the boys.

"Oh, I was thinking that maybe we should take them to the guild," said the blonde. "Surely Master and the other would like to know there's a way to stop the Heartless."

"Guild?" thought Sora. It wasn't the first time he heard that word, but he was curious to know what kind of guild Lucy, Natsu and Happy belonged to.

"That's a good idea," said Natsu. "What do you say, Sora?"

"Uh, sure, I'll go with you," replied the Keyblade wielder. "If they've been fighting the Heartless, surely they can tell me where they usually appear."

"Alright, let's go!" Natsu cheered, raising a fist to the air.

"Aye, sir!" exclaimed Happy before he started to follow Natsu, who was running to the guild he mentioned.

"Hey, wait, I don't know…" said Sora, but Natsu and Happy were already too far to hear him, "...where your guild is…"

Lucy sighed. "Those two must have forgotten that you're not from here."

"It looks like it," said Sora.

"Don't worry, I'll show you the way," said Lucy with a smile. "Come on."
