Its been over two years. God damn. Honestly the only reason why I'm adding another chapter is because I'm bored. I haven't really watched much fairytail in a long time, but I had it running in the background as I wrote this chapter just to give me a refresher. I also went back and tried to fix a lot of the spelling and grammatical mistakes in the earlier chapters. I'm not even 100% sure on where I was going with this story. But yeah since its been so long I apologize if my style or how I write the characters has changed. But thats just what happens.

Who knows maybe I'll write more chapters after this one. My job has really random hours so who knows. I sure as hell don't. Maybe if a good sum of people wish for me to continue after this I will.

Laxus sat down at the table next to the thunder god tribe. His body was buzzing with electricity. Not to make a lightning dragon slayer joke. There was already a drink waiting for him at the table and he quickly took a drink of it, not really looking at his friends. His brain was working at 100 miles an hour. Was he really going on a date with Lucy? Yes, he was.

He didn't notice the smile that grew on his own face.

Evergreen leaned on her hand with a smirk "oh? Thinking of a certain blonde celestial mage?" She asked Laxus teasingly.

Laxus was pulled out of his own thoughts and looked to Evergreen, blinking. "Eh?" he asked his attention turning to the woman. "What makes you say that," he asked her, trying to hide the fact that she was right.

Evergreens smirk only grew. "Probably because the smile on your face, and the fact that you were staring at her over there talking to Mira," she explained.

Shit. Was he looking at her as he zoned out? Damn it all. He tisked his tongue in annoyance, looking away. His eyes went back to where Lucy was. Damn she was gone. And so was Mira? Crap. Wait, he saw the two girls come out of the back room, and leave the guild with Levy following along.

Huh. Wonder if she told them about the date? They were probably dragging her along for shopping or something. He chuckled lightly to himself.

Bickslow burst out into laughter "Hahahaha! He isn't even going to deny it! And he's even back at it again!"

"Shut up!" Laxus said turning back to the thunder god tribe with a snap. However the three just laughed harder in response. He grit his teeth in annoyance and put his chin on his palm.

Freed took a drink from his own glass, deciding to interrogate their leader on his recent mission. "So how was the mission? It did have a rather vague description," he asked. Two blonde mages? What kind of mission could that possibly be. Plus it appeared to have gone rather well. The two wizards returned in a good mood.

Laxus sighed. Oh of course they had to ask how the mission went. Of course he wouldn't tell them about the more...fine details that he and Lucy swore not to talk about. "It went fine. Just a stupid play though," he answered.

"A play?" Freed asked with a raised eyebrow.

"Yeah," Laxus answered.

"OOOOOY LAXUS!"

The four people at the table all leaned back in their chairs as a flaming Natsu flew past them.

Laxus sighed and looked to the flame brain who was trapped in the wall a huge smile on his face. "What." he asked. He knew what the flame brain probably wanted though. To fight him. Usually he wouldn't be in a mood to battle the flame brain, but maybe it could be enough to get his mind off of things. Especially because his brain wouldn't stop thinking back to that kiss...

"Fight me!" Natsu said with a huge smile on his face. The pink haired dragon slayer jumped out of the wall. He put a hand on his hip and pointed to Laxus. "I'm going to show you that Lucy is my teammate for jobs," he said with determination. Natsu assumed that Laxus had asked her to join him on another mission, and that's why she didn't want to join him on one earlier.

Laxus blinked. Wait what? Was Natsu….jealous? Lucy and him had only gone on one mission together, was that enough to entice the boys jealousy? Actually thinking back to how Natsu reacted to anything it made sense. But Natsu probably didn't like Lucy. He was probably thinking that he wouldn't get to hang out with her as much.

"Fine. But, I have no idea what you're talking about," Laxus said. He stood up from the table and started moving toward the doors.

"All right!" Natsu said with a fist in the air. He followed behind Laxus and Happy flew over to him. "You're fighting for Lucy?" The cat said taking the situation out of context. Was this a battle of love?

"Yep!" Natsu said not understanding what the cat meant.

Happys paws covered his face as he started snickering. "Oooooh so you both llllliiiiiiiikkkkke her!" he said rolling the word like around on his tongue.

Laxus paled as he listened to the conversation behind him. God that wasn't what was happening at all. Right? "This flame brain thinks I'm taking her away from his team for some reason. We only went on one mission," Laxus said.

"But Lucy is my partner!" Natsu whined "I could have gone on that mission instead of you!" he added.

Happy shook his head "But Natsu you're not blond!" the cat said.

"Oh right!"

Laxus sighed. Maybe it wasn't too late to back out. He couldn't deal with this right now. But the flame brain probably wouldn't let him live it down.

From a corner of the guild Gajeel stood up from his spot. Levy wasn't here to keep him entertained, and he had been listening into the conversation. This could prove to be entertaining. He grinned as he walked over to the group exiting the guild. Laxus looked to him for a moment before continuing on.

Laxus shook his head as they exited the guild doors. What exactly had he gotten himself into when he saved Lucy the other day.

"It's fine I have plenty of clothing to look through for today!" Lucy said as she was being dragged along. "AND WHEN DID ERZA GET HERE!" she shouted as she stared at the redhead who was dragging her by one of her arms. Mira was attached to the other and Levy was pushing her from behind.

Erza looked to Lucy with a smile. "I sensed that I had a friend in need, so I rushed to her aid. A date is a very important thing Lucy," Erza said in a serious yet lighthearted tone.

"You don't have to make it sound so intense!" Lucy shouted trying to pull her arms free of her friend. It was useless though, the two holding her arms had S-class ranks for a reason. Her face flushed red. She really didn't need help finding an outfit for her date! She could do it all on her own.

Mira shook her head "You need to look your very best Lucy," she said in a determined tone. Matchmaker Mira would never fail! Not one she put her mind to it. And this was a couple that she wanted to have happen. Everything had to be perfect.

Levy nodded intensely behind her "mmhmm! You need to look absolutely beautiful. Lu-Chan. We gotta make Laxus's jaw drop to the floor"

A bead of sweat dropped down Lucy's face. She had no way out of this did she. Man her friends could be so stubborn. She puffed out her cheeks in annoyance. "It's only a first date! And I'm not even sure it means anything!" Lucy retorted to her friends exasperated.

"That's why it has to go well!" Mira said with a light giggle.

Erza nodded "Mira is right. The first date is the most important," she said her grip on Lucy's arm was not loosening.

"Have you even been on a date before!" Lucy exclaimed trying to wriggle her wrists free yet again, only to fail. Again.

Erza only smiled to Lucy and faced forward again.

Levy pointed to a nearby building "Oh! Let's try there first," she said moving to open the door so Mira and Erza could drag the struggling blond in.

Realizing there was no escape Lucy exhaled and her shoulders slumped in defeat. Well. Maybe they had a point. She did want to look her very best for Laxus tonight. Her face flushed at the thought. Hands rushed to her face to cover her blush, it had only been 3 days and she was acting like a schoolgirl with a crush! Could you really start to like like someone so fast?!

Erza was already pulling things down from racks. A large pile in her arms she threw them at Lucy "here try these on,"

Lucy squeaked as the large pile flew towards her and crushed her. Damn Erza and her monster strength.

Mira sweat dropped "That may have been a little too much….."

Lucy popped out of the pile with an annoyed expression "A LITTLE!" She exclaimed.

Levy laughed, "time to try out your outfits Lu-Chan," she said opening a door to a changing room for her friend.

Lucy grabbed a handful of the outfits that Erza had thrown at her and made her way over to the changing room. "Yosh. I gotta look my best," she said finding determination. She slipped into the room and closed the door behind her. Trying the first outfit on she made her way out of the room.

"Oooooh! You look so cute Lu-Chan!" Levy exclaimed with a squeal. The dress fit her perfectly.

Lucy did a twirl. "I like it a lot too! But it might be a little too nice. Laxus said to not wear anything too fancy." she explained.

Mira nodded "That makes sense. Laxus isn't really a fancy restaurant kind of guy," He wasn't really much of a formal date kind of guy too. Actually before his attitude change he seemed to only have one night stands. This was proof that he was changing for the better! Miras mind wandered back to beautiful and adorable blonde babies.

Erza had a finger on her chin in thought "I wonder what kind of date he's planning," she pondered aloud. "Maybe we should follow along to see how it goes," she said to Mira and Levy. The two girls nodded in response.

"Oi,"Lucy deadpanned.

"Try another," Erza demanded turning toward Lucy.

Jumping in surprise Lucy exclaimed "Hai!" and made her way back into the changing room. She changed into more outfits, and Mira had her pull aside all of the ones they liked the most. After they looked through the pile Erza took all of the ones that didn't work and put them all away.

The group of girls looked through the pile of ones they liked, discussing the pros and cons of each one, slowly weeding out ones they liked the most until there was only 2 of them left.

Lucy went to the changing rooms to try them on again. She had an idea of which one she liked more though. And decided to try it on second. She exited the changing room with the outfit on.

"Hmm I think I like that one the most!" Levy said in excitement.

Mira nodded "it's not too fancy but it still makes you look fantastic!"

"It will surely give the desired effect," Erza added.

"It suits you well princess,"

Lucy blinked "Virgo?! When did you get here!" Lucy exclaimed shocked.

Virgo bowed "I came to make sure that Princess had a suitable outfit for her courtship with Mister Laxus," She explained.

"It's not a courtship!" Lucy exclaimed with a fist in the air. Her face was turning red from embarrassment.

Everyone else except Lucy started laughing.

"Oi!" Lucy exclaimed her face turning redder. But after a moment she started laughing too. It was hard to stay annoyed with her friends.

She paid for her outfit and the group all exited the store. Lucy had a giant smile on her face. This shopping trip had been rather fun. And she was excited for her date tonight.
