Epilogue:

One Year Later

Sonic had to deal with annoying Knuckles for a long time. But he couldn't recall a hyperventilating red echidna ever.

So, it was a shock to the blue hedgehog to see Knuckles leaning against the vanity dresser and staring at the mirror with wide, purple eyes. "I can do this…" he whispered. "I can do this…"

Sonic rolled his eyes as he walked over to Knuckles and put his hand on the male's shoulder. Knuckles jumped and looked at Sonic with wide eyes. "I can't do this."

The blue hedgehog frowned and they stared at one another—one menacingly and the other terrified. Sonic gave him a light slap across the cheek. "Knuckles, you proposed to the dang girl. You don't see Shadow freaking out."

"He's getting married in two months, we'll see how he holds up," Knuckles muttered, rubbing his pink cheek.

"He'll do fine. You'll do fine. You both will make it out alive. Will you survive past your honeymoons? Eh," Sonic pretended to weigh the options with the palm of his hands.

Knuckles deadpanned. "Thanks for the encouragement."

"I'm just kidding," Sonic wrapped his arm around Knuckles' shoulders and led him towards the door. "But you're gonna be late for your own wedding if we didn't speed up this cry fest."

As they got to the hallway, Knuckles glared at him. "I'm not crying!"

It was official.

Not only was Rouge and Knuckles husband and wife, but Scourge absolutely loathed children. He glared at this random toddler just running around.

You would think they're mother would have better control of this loose cannon.

Scourge growled every time the five-year-old got close. Okay, he didn't hate all children. He adored his. That was one of the reasons he was warding off the older child. The baby infant in Scourge's arms was warm and comfy and sleeping and if that child woke her up by screaming and hollering while running around too close for Scourge's comfort, so help—

"Scourge, stop giving that child death glares," Fiona commanded. "Be nice. That's a friend's of Rouge's son."

"Hmph," Scourge turned and brought his knees closer to his chest, itching to get out of the suit, as he cuddled his daughter. A little whine went to his ears and he glanced down. Her dark green fur contrasted with the pink blanket. "Hey, shhhh." Scourge kissed her forehead and glanced up at a smiling Fiona. "What?"

The fox waved him off. "Nothing."

Their daughter, who was fully hedgehog, resembled much of her father. She had her mother's nose and that was pretty much it from Fiona. She had her father's eyes and growing quills. They were short little stubs for now that pointed up but they would soon go down as they grew out.

Scourge and Fiona had their daughter a month and a half ago and had decided on a more private wedding right after Knuckles and Rouge got back from their honeymoon. The ivory bat insisted on being at their wedding, which had made Fiona cry and hug her—but Fiona just blamed it on still being pregnant and close to her due date then.

The fox was just glad she didn't have to wear such big clothing. She didn't mind the belly, though, or having the child inside her womb. It felt rather exciting every time the baby moved inside her stomach. But now, the little infant got to move outside of her mother's womb.

The nice part of parenthood was that their baby didn't wake up much in the night. Once a week was the maximum and they were both rather grateful that their daughter had their love for sleep.

Plus, it was always cute to see Scourge sleeping as he held their daughter.

~~~.~~~
"She's adorable," Amy whispered to Shadow as she sat back down. "Cutest little baby ever."
Unfortunately, Amy hadn't gotten to see the baby when she was born since most of the team, including her, lived in West Mobius and Scourge and Fiona had resided in South Mobius with their old friends such as Lora and Garratt who had their baby during the time the team was camping.
So, most of the team hadn't seen the new member until the wedding in North Mobius. Rouge had seen her of course because she had somewhat bonded with Fiona over the months. Amy had occasionally talked to Fiona but could never find the time or money to see the fox unless Shadow took her.
He did so twice.
Other than that, Amy was busy running the bakery now and planning her own wedding with the help of Cream and Vanilla. Aleena had stopped by once or twice but she decided to not overwhelm Amy with so much help.
"It's been forever since we saw everyone together," Amy said to her fiancé.
Shadow hummed as he played with their entwined hands. "How are they?"
"Manic and Sunny are going steady and getting ready to go to college at Center Mobius."
Shadow raised his eyebrows. "Sunny I can see being smart enough to get into a college there, but Manic?"
"Manic surprisingly has musical and technology skills," Amy nodded her head. "He's going into designing though to try and work for HEROES magazine whereas Sunny's going on a full ride to see what she wants to do."
"Nice. Sonia and Flame?"
"Still dating much to Sonic's dismay," Amy giggled while Shadow chuckled. "Well, Sonic didn't say that. I actually think he's starting to like Flame."
"Hm…"
"Yeah. Sonia went back to college right after we got back from East Mobius. Dental hygienist. Flame's working for Tails in West Mobius. The two are currently sharing an apartment with Sonic checking in frequently."
Shadow scoffed. "Rouge and Knuckles are obviously fine."
"Hmhm!" Amy nodded her head in agreement. "Unfortunately, Sarah found out Sonic was the one to run over her favorite cat so he was given the silent treatment for about five minutes after we got back. Now Sarah works at the art studio down two blocks from the bakery. Sonic drops by to get a muffin—whether for him or her, I don't know—and then leaves to see Sarah whenever he's free from hero duties but you know that. You've been patrolling with him since we got back to make sure Eggman hasn't popped up recently.
"Um…Let's see. Fiona and Scourge are clearly doing well, too. Cream and Tails are starting their own businesses—Cream's splitting the bakery with me. You knew this of course. Tails has body shops, mechanical shops, and engineering shops all over West Mobius and he's actually trying to break into South Mobius. Alicia has long since forgiven Espio and Vector. Charmy recovered from his injuries and he's going to finish school. Vector has his detective business with Espio up and running after a major black out with their power. Alicia and Espio are going steady and Alicia still babysits—especially Fritz and Alina from our camping trip."
Shadow nodded as she continued to speak. He knew some things but not all of it, so it was good to catch up with his friends without actually having to speak to them. It was either he asked his fiancée or he asked HEROES magazine.
Oh, thank the universe for giving him those two things.
The dinner was set at a long table for all of the heroes. The other guests got to sit at round tables around the long, rectangular table.
"Still, I liked our camping trip better," Rouge said.
Sonic shook his head. "I don't know. Being chased by a bear isn't the best feeling in the world."
"How do we really know that happened and you all weren't hallucinating because of being in the rain too much?" Blaze questioned suddenly.
Tails narrowed his eyebrows. "…No, I'm pretty sure we were running for our lives from a real bear. I'm mean, it's not like we were hippies high on weed in the mountains."
"Ah," Flame leaned back and closed his eyes. "Well, I was only there for East Mobius and I must say I'm digging normal life much better than hero life, no offence."
Sonic scoffed and rolled his eyes. "That's because you don't do anything and you're too lazy to have to save a bunch of lives."
"Not true," Flame shook his head. "I've done tons of things after that trip."
"Like what?"
"Well, I got your sister to try on—"
"HE DOESN'T NEED TO KNOW," Sonia smacked the table suddenly and shouted.
Fiona covered her daughter's ears in time so the little one was awake. Scourge's ears pinned back as he feared his child would awaken. He sighed in relief when she didn't. Her cries were earsplitting.
Sonic choked on his water and spit it across the table at Tails. The fox groaned and wiped the water/spit off his face. "Sorry, Tails."
"No problem," Tails grimaced.
"Hey, guys, I've been thinking," Silver stated suddenly.
Manic butted in with, "That's a first."
The white hedgehog glared and used his powers to put a glass of water of Manic's head until the water spilled out. Blaze sighed as Silver stopped and Manic's head was now drenched in water from the pitcher.
"Silver?" Sonic got the vengeful male's attention back. "You were saying?"
"Thinking." Knuckles' scoffed before waving off Silver. "I'm kidding, laughing stock."
"Okay!" Silver smacked his hands on the table and glared at everyone. "Where on Mobius is Big and Froggy?"
There was a long silence before someone muttered anything.
"Oh, shit…"
The cabins at Brick Creek had long been since removed and now Big was alone on the bank, looking at campers or tents while the fireplaces were lit.
The cows mooed and butted against Big occasionally, but the giant cat sniffled. Not only did Froggy leave him, but his friends had left him. Big sighed and stood up, patting the cow on the head and walking around in the sagebrush. "C'mon, cows. Let's go."
With the cows followed him, Big continued to walk along Brick Creek in hopes of finding someone he recognized.
He needn't worry however because thanks to Silver, help would be there one day.
Just not today.
And you all probably forgot about Big and Froggy. *Grinch smile*
