First things first, I want to state that I remain anonymous, for all you know I have no affiliation or general knowledge of the characters used. Any reference to real life events or relationships are purely coincidental. Don't try to figure out who I am, it makes the story more fun. If I stick you in a relationship with someone you don't like, or if I make a decision for you that you don't think is realistic, get over it. If you're not included, sucks, it was a slim chance anyway.

A date every blocklander will remember for as long as they live, and predictably, not long. For years, under our very noses, a parasite was spreading. A parasite that would change the course of history for humanity forever. A parasite, that symptoms carried only that which you could dream up in post apocalyptic horror films. It started in China. It spread from person to person, infecting new individuals every day by the millions. It burrowed deep into the brain, spread more, and more, until eventually the hidden pandemic has spread to every living man and woman on the face of planet Earth. Then one day, randomly, it jumped. First came insanity. Then came severe aggression. Autophagia, cannibalism. Zombies, to say the least. But this was not the end of humanity, no, a single community, unexplainable by science and the laws of physics were immune to the virus. They were called survivors.

We called them blockaders.

Every man and woman who had congregated at-least 800 posts on the online brick-building based community known as Blockland was somehow granted immunity, active member or not. However, the impossibility doesn't stop there. Internet, to an extent, worked. The blockland forums, Steam and Skype were all accessible. Every blocklander had the individual right and ability to communicate with each other as a whole. Decidedly, Kansas would be the site for the great blockhead safe zone, flat area, center of the U.S., provided a safe area to set up a base, but getting there was the problem.

Well over a thousand blocklanders would now make the hike to the center of the United States. This is a record of their triumphs, their adventures, their agony, their loses.

In the beginning, the Parasite simply shut down every affected human being. Just went into a completely hibernated state. Blocklanders remained awake, confused, terrified. They checked their phones, their internet, and saw something strange, Blockland was still up, and many people were accounting similar stories. It took no more than a day to get it decided. Rotondo declared Kansas to be the most convenient place to go, and off set several thousand blocklanders.

The next day, however, they awoke. Zombies congregated indoors during the day, so that made daytime traveling easier. However, at night, finding a safe haven was no short of an amazing feat.

Cities and towns filled the atmosphere with the eerie noise of seven billion corpses reanimating and hunting down whoever remained alive. Hundreds of blocklanders died that day. Among them, was Badspot. That night the forums cried out in angst that their 8 year long leader had perished, others rejoiced, others lay awake all night terrified of what was to come.
