A/N- as promised I'm publishing this chapter after I got the tenth review, thank you all for the continued support. I know a lot of you have worries about the last chapter, but trust me and keep reading I have a plan…lets leave it at that. I also know that I'm a little tough on Sora and a lot of you are not pleased by that fact. Know that I understand your worries and that I have taken them into account and that her life will not always seem so dreary, there will be happiness she just needs to get through the hard parts first.

One reader suggested that I make the attacks less painful each year instead of more painful, and I just wanted to reiterate my reasoning for the attacks; because Sora is such a powerful mage there had to be some kind of weakness, some kind of balance or its just not realistic. The attacks are "natures" way of keeping dragon masters in check and they are also there encourage them to kill the dragons they are marked with. This is an integral part of the plot so unfortunately I will not be changing that. I'm sorry if that is upsetting to some of my readers, but I hope you understand my reasoning for it.

As for Sora falling in love well lets just say your in for a surprise, that has always been part of the plan so I hope that give you guys something to look forward to.

As always I own nothing credit for fairy tail goes to Hiro Mashima and the song used in this chapter is "Counting stars" by One Republic

Enjoy and don't forget to review, follow and fav! if you want...sorry its a short chapter.

Lucy's POV

"Mrs. Dragneel would you do me the honor in joining me for a dance?"

"It would be my pleasure Mr. Dragneel."

I placed my hand in his. He guided me forward until we reached the middle of the dance floor where the others, who had definitely visited the open bar had cleared a circle around us. The music began to play and I let the beat wash over me as we embraced and began moving in tandem with the music and as a smile began to spread across my face when I heard the lyrics.

Lately I been, I been losing sleep

Dreaming about the things that we could be

But baby, I been, I been prayin' hard

Said no more counting dollars

We'll be counting stars

Yeah, we'll be counting stars

I see this life

Like a swinging vine

Swing my heart across the line

In my face is flashing signs

Seek it out and ye shall find

Old, but I'm not that old

Young, but I'm not that bold

And I don't think the world is sold

I'm just doing what we're told

I feel something so right

By doing the wrong thing

And I feel something so wrong

By doing the right thing

I couldn't lie, couldn't lie, couldn't lie

Everything that kills me makes me feel alive

Lately I been, I been losing sleep (hey!)

Dreaming about the things that we could be

But baby, I been, I been prayin' hard (hey!)

Said no more counting dollars

We'll be counting stars

Lately I been, I been losing sleep (hey!)

Dreaming about the things that we could be

But baby, I been, I been prayin' hard (hey!)

Said no more counting dollars

We'll be, we'll be counting stars

Just then the light went out and the guildhall was illuminated by thousands of little glow in the dark stars, which were accented by streams of hanging Christmas lights.

"Natsu"

"Surprise! I thought you'd like it. I figured dancing under the stars would be something you would enjoy being the hopeless romantic that you are. I tried my best to get the constellations right. How'd I do?"

"Its perfect." I said with a watery smile. "Your perfect."

His face softened when he met my gaze.

"Anything for you Lucy. I will spend me whole life working to keep that smile on your face."

"I love you, and thank you, thank you for making this the best night of my life you don't know how much this means to me."

Before he could respond I wrapped my arms around him and brought him down for a kiss where I tried to convey to him what I felt about this day, about him. There were no words. I wish that I could have stopped time and lived in that moment forever just the two of us wrapped in our own bubble away from the world. The guild was cheering now, and other couples joined us on the dance floor, but my eyes never strayed far from him; he was everything to me and I knew he loved me as much as I loved him it was clear as day in his eyes.

"Are you ready for your next surprise?"

"There's more?"

"Oh this was just the teaser, I promise this night will be full of many surprises you just wait."

Just then there was a loud clanging noised drawing my attention away from the groom.

"Cake! I demand cake!" yelled Erza. I was dragged away from Natsu toward her desired destination.

"I know it's a tradition that the bride and groom make the first slice, but I'm afraid I'm out of patience. Cut the cake now or face punishment." glared Erza the evil aura that surrounded her made me want to exercise caution.

"Y-Yes Erza"

"Good." she smiled before reequipping a row of sharp swords.

"You may use any blade you like. This one is a definite favorite of mine; you see that edge? Could take a head right off with it, just like slicing through butter."

"And you would know this how of course?" I asked stepping away from the sharpened blade.

"Oh you know...that's not important! What's important is strawberry cake." she was drooling now.

"Yes of course, but maybe I'll just use this nice small cake knife that Mira so graciously provided."

"That's no fun..."

I gazed up at the monstrous cake that was in front of me; it was beautiful there was no denying that, but I couldn't even begin to fathom how I was suppose to cut it.

"Here," Natsu said as he grabbed by hand and guided me forward.

"Ready? We will do this together."

We cut a piece of cake and placed it on a plate. At that point all bets were off and Erza jumped forward with the decapitation blade to cut a huge slice of cake for herself. She looked dismayed for a second as she searched frantically for a fork and came up empty. Unfortunately the silverware was being devoured by a famished looking dragon slayers who was making his way across the dining hall stealing silverware from the unsuspecting mages. Erza was about to exact her wrath when Jellal handed her a fork that he had saved from the pillaging baka. Her face lit up with a small smile as she looked up at him with an adoring look, but just as quickly her face became heated as she looked away in embarrassment. I let myself be momentarily distracted before a plan entered my mind.

"You two aren't going start feeding each other are you, cause that's where I draw the line."

"Shut it ice prick."

I smiled a little deviously before taking a small piece of cake on a plate and held it behind my back.

"I wouldn't think of it Gray, but please do tell me what do you think of the cake?"

"Huh?" He had a split second before I shoved the whole thing in his face.

"How's that for feeding each other."

"That's my girl. I knew I married you for a reason, but you missed a spot."

"Oh?"

"Yes allow me to take care of it"

"Natsu-" He grabbed the top tier of the cake, but I guess the table holding the whole thing up wasn't stable enough to handle the added weight because it collapsed and landed right on top of Master.

"Natsu!"

"Oh god-" was all he got out before masters fist came raining down punishment.

"I wouldn't want to be him right now."

"Amen to that."

"So Mr. Dragneel are you still in functional shape? Or do I have to reschedule the honey moon"

"No! No, I'm good, I'm good, see I can move just fine." he said with a grimace on his handsome face.

"Maybe I could get Gray to give you some ice for that."

"Hmph, I'd rather be in pain than except anything from that stripper."

"Soot yourself"

"You know since Erza got her cake, and well you got all the girl frilly stuff I think its only fair the next portion of the wedding be dedicated to me."

"Oh and what exactly is it that you want to do?"

"You'll see, though I have to admit this gift is as much for me as it is for you."

"You guys ready for the show!"

"Hell yea!" everyone in the guild was in uproar

Now I couldn't contain my curiosity, I just hoped what ever the surprise was that it wouldn't lead to too much destruction

I stood outside gazing up at the fireworks as they lit up the sky in an explosion of lights and sparkles in red, gold, green, and blue. One even said, "I love Lucy"

When we finally ran out everything was dark and silent for a moment. I felt safe and warm in Natsu's embrace and everything was right in the world, until it wasn't. I should have known that my happiness had to come to an end at some point that my bubble had to burst. In a flash of golden light in the distance a golden apparition in the form of a dragon lit up the night sky, spreading its wings and letting out an ear splitting roar that shook the earth. I felt both a sense of familiarity and dread, and began to shake, but it was Natsu's reaction that frightened me the most. He stiffened going eerily still before roughly pushing me away.

"Natsu?"

His face was cloaked in darkness, but it was demeanor that alarmed me the most. Natsu was acting strange. Just moments ago he was his happy go lucky and childish self, but now there was a menacing energy around him. I could feel a subtle shift in the air between us, his breath coming in short quick bursts. He looked up at me then and let out a startled breath.

Natsu's face had completely transformed. His face was covered in red scales. His eyes now a gold and amber shade, with slitted pupils like that of a snakes. His hands had become deformed taking on an almost talon like appearance as claws began to rip there way from his nail beds. I looked around and everyone was frozen around me mesmerized by the light show, but also suddenly becoming wary as they observed the dragon slayers altered behavior. Gajeel and Wendy had also taken on an almost sinister appearance, though nothing compared to Natsu. Together they all took in a deep breaths joining in the ear splitting pain filled roar that already reverberated around the once quiet and sleeping city of Magnolia.

People had begun gathering on the street. Most were in there crumpled sleep wear, the hair in various stages of disarray. It was late now almost 2 in the morning and they seemed angry to have been disturbed before they too caught sight of the still glowing golden dragon. The only dragon slayer who seemed unaffected by all of this was Laxus. Master was gesturing wildly to Laxus, giving an unheard order before Laxus disappeared in a storm of lightening, lighting a path towards his destination, the golden dragon. My attention was dragged back to the now silent Natsu as he whispered something so softly I almost missed it.

"Baby dragon…"

"What? Natsu do you know what that thing is? Natsu! Look at me please!"

But he just gave me a sharp look that shut me right up. Natsu never looked at me like that before, and for the first time in my life I was actually scared of him. He had only ever looked at the enemy like that; he had only ever looked at those who had harmed the guild and his nakama with that kind of hatred, with that kind of promise of pain in his eyes. Tears began to flow down my face, what was happening to the man I loved? What had caused the love in his eyes for me to be replaced by hatred?

"Natsu? Natsu you're scaring me. Please, please say something!"

"Baby dragons in pain. Mate lied, mate put baby dragon in danger, mate betrayed me."

"What? What are you talking about? What baby dragon? I would never betray you! I love you!"

"You have a funny way of showing it." He growled. He was doubled over in pain than. His eyes shifting back and forth, from gold to green as he fought for control.

"N-Natsu"

Gold eyes flashed up at me, "Mate may have forgotten baby dragon, but a dragon never forgets."

"Forgotten baby dragon…"

"Lucy…" Natsu said his eyes green for a moment, his face contorting in pain.

"What-what the hell is happening to me?!" before once again his eyes shifted.

"Must find baby dragon…" there was a hint of desperation in his tone and that was the last thing Natsu said as he took off in a dead sprint toward to golden apparition as it began to falter.

"Someone do something! You need to help me. Natsu isn't himself!"

The other dragon slayers seemed to have regained their wits about them and both shared a knowing look before sprinting after him. I removed my heels and began running barefoot against the cobble stone floor, struggling not to trip over the length of my dress. When I made it to the clearing the slayers were engaged in an all out fight, and they were losing.

"Let me go! Sora! Sora needs me!"

"Natsu!"

"Stay back!" he growled.

His appearance was almost feral now, "Haven't you done enough damage?" he hissed.

"I don't understand what's wrong, please help me understand. Help me make this right!"

"It will never be right! You chose this path! You condemned our child to this future of pain and loneliness! I will never forgive you! Do you understand? Never! Slayer may have forgotten, but I cannot, I will not forget my child and what you have done to her. Remember that as my being fades back into his conscious; remember that a part of me will never trust, or forgive you until you set things right, until my child is back with in the safety of my arms."

"W-we never had a child. I think I would remember something like that"

His smile was almost cruel then, "Are you sure about that?"

His eyes narrowed at me, and then it hit me and his smile was truly frightening, "Lisanna…"

The apparition began to flicker and fade in the distance gradually growing smaller and smaller, and as the dragons light left the sky its hold over the slayers seemed to diminish as well.

"Sora…" Natsu was frantically reaching forward as if by some force he could propel himself toward the dragon, but even he could not travel that distance. With a final cry of defeat from Natsu the dragon vanished leaving the night dark and eerily quiet in its wake.

Natsu collapsed then growling and screaming in pain as his dragon like attributes began to fade from view and his golden eyes now taking on there original olive green hue.

"Natsu! Natsu are you okay? Natsu talk to me please, whose Sora? Natsu please tell me whose Sora!"

"Sora?" Natsu whispered his face that was drawn in a tried grimace quickly transformed to show a look of pure confusion that reached his eyes.

"Yes Natsu. Sora, who is Sora?"

"I-I don't know anyone by that name…w-why do you ask Lucy?"

Tears were now streaming down my face as a heavy weight settled across my heart and the pain of the knowledge that I had done something unthinkable hit me hard, "Because Natsu I think Lisanna was right… I think I did something terrible and I think, I think Sora's our daughter."

A/N- anyway not the best chapter i'll probably come back later to rewrite it because its not edited and I just wanted to post, I just couldn't figure out how to get it a way I wanted, it was better before but unfortunately my hard drive got wiped and well I had to rewrite the whole thing from memory and it didn't come out quite how i wanted it to. I know its not excuse, Ill do my best to write better chapters in the future. I hope you guys aren't to disappointed...

Oh and incase there was any confusion the human part/ the slayer part of Natsu doesn't remember Sora because of Alastair's spell, but I thought it would be an interesting twist if the dragon part of him did, so yeah that the weird thing at the end there. If you guys hate it and would prefer it be a different way than let me know i'll remove it an rewrite the ending.

Next chapter will be five years into the future and you will finally get to know Sora better so yay!
