Hey guys, just got back into Fanfiction. Haven't posted stuff in FOREVER because I've been working on a lot of my own works and have improved my writing 10 fold so here's the UPDATED LESS CRAPPY version of the chapters. I'm updating a lot of my stories/chapters because the writing was just plain bad and I need more writing practice for my original books.

(JUST FINISHED MY FIRST CHAPTER THAT I HOPE I CAN MAKE INTO A SERISE! I WAS LOOKING AROUND FOR A GOOD HARLEY AND TONY FAN FIC AND COULDN'T FIND MUCH, WANTING BADLY TO WRITE MY OWN I DID! IF YOU LIKE AND WANT ME TO CONTINUE PLZ PUT IN A REVEIW! THIS IS SET AFTER IRONMAN 3, THE ONLY THING I CHANGED WAS THAT TONY STILL HAS HIS ARC REACTOR. I THINK GETTING RID OF IT WAS A MISTAKE AND IM GOING TO KEEP IT IN MY FAN FICS, ANYWAY HOPE YOU LIKE A PLZ REVEIW THANKS!)

Pepper walked down the hall. The click of her heels echoed loudly throughout the house as she quickly made her way towards Tony's room. The red head turned and flipped over the stack of papers she had in her had, waiting for Tony's signature.

She slowed down as she grew closer towards the door. Pepper quietly opened up the room to find it lacking it usually loud music and Tony up and around on his computer. Instead, he was sitting quietly, staring at a small thin photograph that he held tightly in his hands.

When Pepper realized what was on the picture, she tried to exit the room.

"Pepper!"

She quickly spun around. Cursing her loud heels, Pepper looked over to see Tony rub his eyes and quickly shove the picture into his drawer.

"Sorry, I just didn't want to-"

"It's fine," Tony interrupted, trying to change the subject, "what is it?"

Pepper shook her head, she should have checked with JARVIS before coming into the room. "I just needed you to sign-"

Suddenly a loud banging came from the front of the house. The sound flowed throughout the room. It sounded forceful and urgent making Pepper take a step closer to Tony.

After a few seconds of anticipation, she spoke

"What's that?" Pepper turned her gaze to Tony worriedly.

He shook his head as he stood, making his towards door. His muscles tightened as he turned into full attack mode. Reaching his arm towards his desk, Tony carefully picked up the loaded black handgun that sat as a paperweight on another stack of papers. He held it up to his chest and looked over at Pepper who stayed unmoving.

"Stay behind me," He spoke softly, wanted to make sure she was in his sight just incase there was a threat lingering outside.

Pepper nodded; putting the files down on top of the bed. She quickly raced up behind him and followed Tony down the hall towards the front of the house.

Slowly creeping up to the door, gun in hand; Tony was running all the possibilities through his head.

The repeating loud pounding was followed by...small cries? Tony would have asked JARVIS what that was but something told him not to turn on the security alarms. Finally making it to the door, he looked to Pepper and pressed a finger to his lips. Once she nodded back, Tony quickly yanked the door open and held up his gun to the one thing he would have never expected to see again.

A boy.

Head to toe with ash and grime. Dirty blond hair stuck up everywhere as his face was bright red with tears streaming down his cheeks. The boy's cloths were ripped and ragged. A sad smile spread over his face once he locked eyes with the Iron hero. Something seemed familiar about this boy, but Tony couldn't put his finger on why.

"Mister Stark!" The boy cried as he wrapped his arms around Tony's waist.

Suddenly, all the pieces fell into place.

"Kid?" The philanthropist replied, astonished.

Pepper took a step back, her eyes widening in confusion. She had no idea who this kid was or how Tony knew a kid in the first place, but she stayed back. This little boy needed Tony's help and she wasn't going to get in the middle of that. Anyways, she could always pry the answers out of him later.

"Kid, what are you doing here? What happened?" Tony bent down to get a good look at the sobbing 11 year old.

"I-I...s-she...t-the m-man...I-I c-couldn't..." Harley broke in tears, burring his head into Tony's shirt. His tears streaming down the man's back.

Tony looked out through the doorway. Outside was a dark sky with the cold summer air settling in. The stars peeked out from the night sky, shining down onto the pair. The area was as peaceful as it could be, not a sound came from the driveway. Although Tony couldn't see anything that looked threatening, he wasn't going to take that chance.

"JARVIS, set security code to 10. I don't want one living thing to get into this building."

"Yes sir." The AI responded.

Slowly picking up Harley who clung to the man tightly, Tony pulled him out of the way as the door shut and bolted.

He pressed the 11 year old against his shoulder. Harley quickly wrapped his arms around his neck and began streaming tears into his soft shirt, obviously needing comfort over whatever had happened. Tony backed away from the door and ran to the nearest windows, peaking through each one looking for anything hostile. Harley didn't seem to mind all the bouncing from window to window, if anything he just held tighter to the man. Pepper stayed back, not saying a word, just looking pitifully at the half tear drowned boy.

Thanks Pep, Tony thought, I really can't explain everything right now, but I will.

When Tony was sure that nothing was outside, he carried the boy to the couch. Tony tried to pry the boy from him and set him down but Harley wouldn't let go.

"Harley," The Iron hero whispered into the boy's ear. "I can't help you if you don't tell me what's wrong..."

After a few moments of thinking, Harley loosened his grip and sat on the coffee table. Tony slowly untangled the boy's arms from around his neck and sat down on the couch across from the boy.

Before asking any questions, Tony looked him over. Making sure he wasn't too badly injured to where he needed to take Harley to the hospital. When he was sure there was nothing else besides small cuts and a few bruises, he turned away and looked back into the boy's wet eyes.

"What happened?"

Harley tried to talk a couple of times; the lump in his throat making it hard to speak with out breaking down. Each syllable he tried came out like jagged glass, each one undistinguishable. After about 10 minutes of this, Tony put his firm hands on the kid's shoulder.

"Take a deep breath and start from the beginning."

Mustering as much air he could into his lungs, Harley turned his soft blue gaze to the man.

"That m-man...S-Savin...the man that attacked us in T-Tennessee...he's alive."
