The long awaited final chapter that sucks.

"Grant just got busted," Joy smirked at Mara, eyeing Eddie and Jerome as they entered Frobisher's tent after Grant.

"Good, we won't have to worry about anyone getting in the way now."

"Unless Grant contacted raiders and they're on the way here." Alfie pointed out.

"Grant didn't seem like the kind of guy that works for someone." Joy shook her head.

"At one point, he didn't seem like the kind of guy that would raid a tomb." Mara said with a small smile.

"True,"

"What happens if raiders do come?"

"They probably can't do anything if the tomb is already emptied." Joy said and looked over her shoulder as Patricia and Fabian came up next to them.

"Frobisher said we could head back down into the tomb and make sure everything is going well." Fabian announced.

"Let's hurry, I don't trust Grant with my grandpa." KT said as she arrived at the group with Jerome and Eddie following her.

"Would you like one of us to stay behind?" Eddie asked.

"No, it's alright, but I don't want to stay away too long." She answered.

He nodded and led the group to the tomb opening. They descended the staircase and moved out of the way as a couple team members carried artifacts up the stairs in their arms.

As they walked through the many chambers, they found everyone at work; some were translating hieroglyphics, some snapping pictures, some examining pots and statues, and others were hauling things out of the tomb.

In the cat chamber, three members of the team were chipping away at the cat statues, while two were carefully lifting the cat's coffin off the pedestal.

When they reached the main chamber, they found three of the team members looking at the sarcophagus.

"Everything going okay?" Eddie asked, his voice bouncing off the walls.

One of the men looked back at him and nodded silently.

Sibuna stood in the room, observing the experts do their job. Eventually they had written enough down in their notebooks to call in several more team members so they could haul the mummified king out of the tomb.

Joy picked up one of the crowns that sat among the riches in the room. "Fabes, how did Egyptians wear these things? They're so heavy.

Fabian burst into a lengthy explanation while Jerome's eyes suddenly drifted away from the treasures and to the corner of the room where the giant gem was sitting, his breath caught in his throat as it was removed by one of the workers.

"Jerry, you were worried about nothing." Eddie smirked, punching his arm playfully. "See how stupid that was."

Jerome didn't have time to answer.

Under their feet, the floor began to shake. The man that had picked the gem up cried out in fright when the ceiling and walls began collapsing around them. He dropped the jewel and ran out of the room, calling out in Egyptian.

"And you thought it was stupid!" Jerome barked at Eddie.

"Not the time, Slimeballs!" Patricia snapped.

"Let's get out of here!" KT suggested.

The group rushed for the entrance, jogging into the hieroglyphic stones, and into the cat's chamber. When they made it to the room between the exit and the cat's tomb, part of the ceiling suddenly fell feet from them, crashing through the floor. Mara stumbled a little as the floor shook more violently.

"Fabian!" Joy shrieked as the floor split in two right down the middle. He grabbed onto the slab of concrete after he started falling into the black pit beneath the floor.

As the floor slowly began retracting into the walls, the team rushed to one side while Jerome and Eddie helped Fabian back onto his feet.

Jerome grabbed Mara's hand, holding it tightly to assure him that she was there, and called for Eddie's attention. "There's at least a five foot jump over there. If one of us misses it…"

"We'll figure something out."

"Well, if you haven't noticed yet, Eddie, the floor is becoming less of an option to stand on by the minute. We don't have time to figure something out." Patricia said frantically, moving away from the edge a little.

"Hey!"

The gang turned at the sound of the voice and they looked at Grant in shock.

"What did you do to my grandpa?" KT demanded.

"Listen to me, I don't have time to explain, but I can help you get over here. Jump and I'll catch you." He stated urgently.

Mara gasped, swallowing thickly, and grabbing onto Jerome's arm. "J, I feel sick."

"It's okay." He promised her, kissing her temple. "Where's your gun? Get rid of it."

Grant sighed and pulled it out of the waistband of his pants. He tossed it over the edge and the teens flinched when seconds later they heard a faint clank as it hit the floor beneath them.

"I was hoping for a sound that would give us a little hope." Alfie said honestly, looking over to Eddie with wide brown eyes.

"We're gonna have to jump." He decided. He carefully pushed past Jerome and Mara. He took a deep breath and took a couple steps back until his back hit the wall. He eyed Grant anxiously and then pushed off the wall, jumping from the floor. His body slammed into the rock beneath the floor Grant stood on.

"Eddie!" Patricia screamed as the older man gripped his arm tightly, helping him onto solid ground again.

"I'm okay!" he hollered back and motioned to her. "Come on, Yacker, women and children first."

She licked her lips and leapt across the gaping black hole. Eddie and Grant lifted her onto the floor and Joy jumped next. After KT had made it across without any trouble, Mara stepped back.

"I want you to be over there when I jump. God, I hate heights. Especially when I don't know what I'd land on if I fell."

Jerome nodded, motioning for Alfie to go next. Fearfully, the dark-skinned teen jumped over the ever widening gap. Jerome watched and breathed a sigh when he made it safely across. Fabian went next and he nearly missed the ledge, but he hurried out of the tomb to rejoin the rest of the group.

Jerome dragged a hand through his hair. "You should go first."

"No."

"It's getting wider, you don't have enough leg to jump it if gets too wide." He said, moving behind her. "Don't worry, Beansybop, it'll all be okay."

Mara nodded her head slowly and backed up into his chest. With a silent prayer, she ran and jumped, nearly crying when Eddie had managed to catch her hand. He pulled her onto the ledge and stood ready for Jerome.

"I thought you wouldn't hold my hand, Sweety Junior." He teased.

"Just jump, Jerry!"

Jerome breathed out heavily and dashed to the end of the ledge.

"I am never doing this again." Jerome stated while the gang stood in the airport.

"I am with you on that one." KT said, raising her hand.

"Too much excitement." Patricia agreed.

"It's not good for my heart." Eddie mumbled.

"Maybe going to university will be the best thing for us." Mara said.

"Parting ways." Willow sighed wistfully.

"At least Grant will be put in jail and given therapy." Joy shrugged.

"At least he went quietly." Fabian added.

"I think I matured over this trip."

The gang looked to Alfie as he stroked his chin comically. They let out a chorus of laughter while he demanded to know what was so funny. But their laughter quieted down moments later and they exchanged hugs and handshakes.

They stood in a circle and held their right hands over their eyes. "Sibuna." They said simultaneously.

And they turned and walked away.

Wow...HAHAHAHAHAHHAHHAHHAAHAHA

Seriously, my ending writing skills amaze me.

I suck so bad.

I am so sorry.

Well, there you go. I'm done. I'm going to try and finish up a bunch of things because I want to start new things. :P

"Slept on your side of the bed, replayed the things that I should've said. Wish I had summoned the strength to leave alone what I couldn't change. The sky's on fire, all the world disappears. No signs of life, without you here. Tears will fall, oceans will rise, the earth will stop turning. Since you left, every breath feels like it's burning. I know that life will go on, I will survive, but for tonight, I swear on my life, this is the end of the world." -End of the World, Juliet Simms
