Legend of Korra and the Dragon Warrior: Air

I do not own the characters of Avatar: The Legend of Korra or The Legend of Spyro game. I only own the characters that I've created in my head.

Sorry for the long wait everyone. I was having a little writer's block for a while, but I finally got through it. I hope you enjoy this chapter, R&R.

Water Dragon, Ren Part 1

Two days had passed since Miyuki came to the Dragon Temple and began her training there. It took a while for her to get use to her surroundings, but Miyuki soon grew comfortable in her new home at the temple. The Guardians let her wander around the temple, with Hikaru and Keb accompanying her in her explorations. When Miyuki had wandered around the new temple, she couldn't help but marvel at the building's structure, and the tapestry of the dragons that hung on the temple walls. But her favorite place within the Dragon Temple was the garden, which held all sorts of plants and flowers that she had never seen outside of the frozen lands of her home in the southern artic.

Miyuki had never really journeyed out of her homeland to see what the plant life was like in the other parts of her world. She had only ever seen pictures of plants and creatures in the scrolls, and books that Master Katara would give to her or from the library within her village. So seeing plants for the very first time had filled Miyuki with a sense of wonder and joy, even though the plants were different from the ones from her home world. Keb, who had been accompanying her at that time, had watched in curiosity and fascination as Miyuki smelled one of the flowers that had caught her eye, before she sighed in content at the scent it gave off. Keb watched Miyuki inspect the plants for a while, before he had asked her why she was so fascinated with them. Miyuki answered Keb's question with a blush by saying that where she came from, no tropical plant had ever grown in her homeland. Miyuki told him that her homeland was always covered in ice and snow, so she had never seen this much greenery before in her life.

Keb listen intently to what Miyuki had told him as his heart grew heavy within his chest. He felt sorry that Miyuki had never gotten to experience what plant life was like outside her homeland. Keb soon became Miyuki's constant companion whenever they went to visit the Dragon Temple garden to look at the plants. He taught her what the name of the plants were, and what uses they have in healing or in cooking foods. Hikaru didn't mind that Keb would spend time with Miyuki in the temple's garden. The Light Dragon knew that Miyuki needed to learn what there was to know about their world if she was going to survive. Hikaru mostly hung out with Miyuki to help her in understanding some of the history of the dragons' home world. And the best way for learning about the dragons' home world was by doing research within the temple library.

The other dragons, the three Guardians, Spyro and Cynder, would interact with Miyuki from time to time as well. They would teach her all they knew about their world, but Miyuki was always seen with Keb and Hikaru. Miyuki couldn't help but feel safe around the two younger dragons. They were her constant companions whenever she wandered around the temple to see if she could find anything new.

Hikaru was the closest to Miyuki as the Light Dragon was always watching over her human companion. Miyuki has known Hikaru the longest, because the Light Dragon had been with her on the journey to and from Dragon City. Despite the Light Dragon's tough expression around the older dragons and Keb, Miyuki knew that Hikaru was actually kind, and was willing to protect anyone she really cared about.

While as for Keb, Miyuki didn't know what it was about the young Earth Dragon, but she could feel a slight connection with Keb as if they were meant to become friends.

On the third day within the Dragon Temple, the three Guardians, Spyro and Cynder had all gathered within the main room where a green pool of water glowed. Hikaru, Keb and Miyuki were all out in the garden where the girl was practicing her Waterbending. The older dragons were discussing about their human charge, while they talked about a problem that was slowly coming to light. They were questioning how they could train the young human to be the next Dragon Warrior.

"This is a difficult situation that we are facing my friends," spoke Terrador with a grim expression imprinted on his face. "Even though we have taken on the responsibility of looking after, and caring for the young Dragon Warrior, we still have no idea on how to train her."

"Yes, we are in a bit of a pickle Terrador," spoke Cyril with a shake of his head.

"Miyuki has an element that none of the dragons within Dragon City had ever seen or possessed." Volteer pointed out as he lay on the floor with his tail twitching slightly in agitation. "Water is a rare ability among us dragons to obtain, yet it is not unheard of."

"But no one within Dragon City has ever obtained this ability, have they?" asked Cynder with a worried expression upon her features.

"That is correct Cynder, which brings up the problem as to how we are to train Miyuki in her Waterbending." Terrador answered as his head lowered slightly in sadness.

"Are you sure there aren't any dragons outside of Dragon City that might have the ability to control water?" asked Spyro in a hopeful voice.

"No, Spyro, we don't" said Cyril with a shake of his head. "For if there was such a dragon out there that could control water, we would have heard of them from the other tribes outside of Dragon City."

"This is quite a complex matter my friends." Muttered Volteer with a sad shake of his head.

All the other dragons nodded their heads in agreement as hope began to dwindle within their hearts. Outside in the Dragon Temple garden, Miyuki was practicing her Waterbending with Keb and Hikaru watching her about a few feet away. Keb was sitting as he stared intently at Miyuki, who moved the water around with in a calm and flowing motion. But the young Earth Dragon could see that Miyuki's movements were a little stiff. Hikaru was lying beside Keb as she also watched Miyuki with a thoughtful look on her face, before she turned her head to look up at Keb.

"So I'm guessing you're seeing it too, huh." Hikaru stated with a serious look upon her face.

"Yeah," replied Keb in a soft voice as he turned his eyes downwards to look at Hikaru. "I know you've told me that Miyuki's moves were getting better, matching the flowing motions of the water she is bending. But I can tell that her stances are still a little off, and her movements are a little unsteady."

"I've noticed that too," Hikaru said as she turned her attention back on Miyuki again. "She's still new to this whole Waterbending thing, and there's not really any other humans around to teach her these techniques."

Keb also turned his attention back on Miyuki as a thoughtful expression appeared on his face. He could help but silently agreed with Hikaru. Without another human Waterbender to teach Miyuki how to bend water, the young human will not be able to perfect the movements of her Waterbending.

"This will make Miyuki's training difficult." Keb said with a sigh.

Hikaru frowned in thought for a moment before a large smile appeared on her muzzle.

"Maybe not," said Hikaru as Keb turned to look at Hikaru in confusion as the Light Dragon looked up at him. "I think I might know someone who can help with Miyuki's training."

Miyuki, who now had her stream of water levitating over her head, stopped in her motions when she heard what Hikaru had said. She had been half listening to what Keb and Hikaru were talking about, while she concentrated in her Waterbending training. But when she heard that Hikaru said she might know someone who could help her, Miyuki instantly lost her concentration. Miyuki turned around and was about to ask who Hikaru might know that could help her in Waterbending. But she was cut off as the water she had been bending fell on top of her head. Miyuki let out a squeak of surprise at the water's cold touch when it dropped down on her. Hikaru and Keb heard the squeak, and turned their attention on Miyuki, only to see her drenched from head to toe. Keb let out a huff of amusement, while Hikaru chuckled at the sight of her human friend.

Miyuki blushed in embarrassment as she smiled shyly at Keb and Hikaru. Miyuki quickly bended the water off of her and gave the water to the flowers of the garden. She then walked over to Hikaru and Keb before standing in front of them.

"Did you just say you know someone who might help me with my Waterbending?" asked Miyuki in a hopeful voice.

"Yes, I did and I do." Hikaru replied with a reassuring smile, but that smile soon turned into a deep frown. "The only problem is being able to find her."

"What do you mean by that?" asked Keb as he glanced at Hikaru with a raised eyebrow.

"Well, let's just say that she likes to move from one place to another." Hikaru answered as she stood up to stand on her four paws. "And the way she is able to move from one place to another is by swimming through the of rivers of the Dragon Realms."

Miyuki gazed up at Hikaru in amazement, while Keb gave Hikaru doubtful look at what she had just said.

"That's impossible," said Keb with a frown. "No dragon is able to travel from one place to another by swimming through the rivers of the Dragon Realm."

"Yes, for ordinary dragons it's impossible," said Hikaru. "But Ren is no ordinary dragon. She's a half breed like me."

Keb's eyes widened in surprise at what Hikaru had just said, along with Miyuki who was staring opened mouth in bafflement. Keb's face then took on a serious expression as he thought about the idea that Hikaru had given. He soon came to a decision on what they needed to do.

"Let's go talk to my father." Keb said before he stood up and began to walk towards the Council Chamber.

Hikaru and Miyuki followed after Keb as he led them back into the Dragon Temple. They arrived at the door of the Council Chamber before they stopped in front of it. The trio didn't have to wait long for the door to the Council Chamber to open as it slowly slid away to the side. The opening of the door caused the group of adult dragons to turn their attention towards the trio in surprise.

"I'm sorry for the intrusion," spoke Keb as he, Hikaru and Miyuki walked into the room. "But we might have found a way to help Miyuki in her Waterbending training."

Volteer quickly sat up with an excited look on his face. "Really?"

"Well it's more like I know someone who can help Miyuki," answered Hikaru as she took a step forward.

"Can you tell us who it is?" asked Terrador as he and the other adult stared expectantly at Hikaru.

Hikaru nodded her head before taking in a deep breath and began to speak.

"It's another dragon, a female that goes by the name of Ren. She's a half-breed like me, but she has the ability to command and manipulate water. If there is one dragon who could help train Miyuki, it would be her."

The adult dragons looked amongst each other with hopeful expressions upon their face. Hikaru saw this and felt terrible that she had to destroy the hope that she placed in their hearts.

"The only problem is…I don't know where she is." Hikaru said sadly as the joy that was on the adult dragons' faces fell. "You see, Ren doesn't always stay in one place for very long. Ren is constantly on the move like the rivers that flow throughout our world. So she could be anywhere."

Terrador let out a sigh. "This will make our job even more difficult."

"Yes, it's just one problem after the next," said Cyril in an irritated voice.

"This situation were in is very frustrating, mind boggling and perplexing." Volteer grumbled as he sat down with a huff.

"If only Ignitus was here," voiced Spyro in a sad voice. "He would be able to use the Pool of Visions to help us locate Ren."

"I know, Spyro," said Terrador as he turned to look at the purple dragon with remorse. "We all miss him greatly."

Miyuki sadly looked up at the adult dragons that stood within the room. The three Guardians had their heads hung low in sadness, while Cynder nuzzled Spyro to comfort him. She then thought it might be a good time to tell them that Ignitus wasn't really gone from their world.

Miyuki took in a deep breath before she began to speak. "Um…You all said that Ignitus was dead, right?"

Everyone in the room turned to look at her when she mentioned Ignitus's name.

"Yes, we did." Cyril replied as he raised a none-existing eyebrow at Miyuki.

"Well…what if he isn't really gone?" Miyuki questioned as she tried to be cautious about the words she needed to say next.

"What do you mean?" questioned Cynder curiously.

Miyuki hesitated for a moment before she plucked up her courage, and told everyone in the room about her meeting Ignitus.

"Before and after I came to Dragon City I've been having dreams of a dragon called the Chronicler," said Miyuki.

That caused the dragons in the room to look at her in astonishment before sharing a glance amongst each other. Spyro looked back at Miyuki with a light frown upon his muzzle.

"You've met the Chronicler?" asked Spyro.

"Yes, but not the Chronicler that you've met back when you were…younger," answered Miyuki. "The Chronicler that I met was someone, who had risk his life to help you and Cynder through the Belt of Fire."

Spyro's and Cynder's eyes widened in surprise before the purple dragon slowly took a step forward towards Miyuki. He held a hopeful look in his eyes as he stared intently down at Miyuki.

"Are you saying that Ignitus is…" Spyro didn't finish his sentence, afraid that he might be wrong in his guessing.

Miyuki smiled softly up at Spyro. "Yeah…he's the new Chronicler."

Spyro's eyes began to well up with tears of joy, along with Cynder's eyes as she came up to nuzzle against Spyro. The three Guardians were a little skeptical about what Miyuki's had said to them, before Volteer step forward and asked the young human a hard question.

"If the Chronicler is who you say he is, then answer this question. How did Ignitus save Spyro when he was still just an egg?"

Miyuki had a feeling that the three Guardians wouldn't believe her. But she didn't mind for she knew that if she were them, she wouldn't believe what she said either.

"Ignitus showed me his memories about the night the Dark Army invaded the old Dragon Temple," answered Miyuki in a strong voice. "The Dark Army was sent to destroy the eggs, because of a told prophesy about a new purple dragon that was going to be born. You, Volteer, told Ignitus to save the eggs of the temple, but the only egg that he was able to save was Spyro's egg. Ignitus carried Spyro's egg to the Silver River where he placed the egg on a large mushroom cap, and sent it down stream."

"Which carried my egg to my adopted dragonfly family," added Spyro as he looked down at Miyuki in wonderment.

Volteer, Terrador and Cyril glanced at each other in surprise, before the Earth Dragon Guardian let out a sigh and turned his gaze on Miyuki.

"Alright, Miyuki, we believe you." Terrador said with a gentle smile before turning his look turned serious. "But now we must come back to the matter that we are facing right now."

"Yes, we must somehow find this 'Ren' that you told us about," Cyril stepped.

"But how exactly do we find her when we don't even know where to look?" asked Cynder with a frown.

Miyuki silently watched as the dragons talked amongst each other as they tried to figure out what to do.

'I wish I could do something to help,' thought Miyuki quietly to herself. 'But I don't know what I can do…I feel so useless.'

Suddenly, Miyuki felt a strange energy flowing through her, and she sensed something calling out to her. Miyuki slowly turned her gaze towards the Pool of Visions and, as if she were in a trance, started walking towards it. She slowly came to a stop when she was standing near the rim of the Pool of Visions. Miyuki gazed down at the water's surface a she stared intently into its depths. Slowly an image began to form within the water. At first the image was blurry, but it slowly started to grow clearer before it showed a long strip of sand near a large ocean.

In the image the sun was reflecting off the ocean's surface, and the scene had a peaceful aura surrounding it. That changed when something caused a disturbance underneath the water's surface for a moment. Miyuki caught a glimpse of a head surfacing out of the water before it disappeared, with a long snake like body following behind it. Miyuki continued to look at the image as she took in some of the details of the beach. One thing that stood out on the shores of the beach was a large statue of a snake like creature with the head, and horns of a dragon, and two fins on either side of its body.

Miyuki stared long and hard at the image before it began to grow fuzzy again, as she began to hear Hikaru's voice calling out to her.

"Miyuki…Miyuki…Miyuki!" shouted Hikaru.

Miyuki let out a gasp as she came out of her trance before shaking her head to clear it. She turned to look behind her to see Hikaru, Keb and the adult dragons looking down at her with concerned expressions upon their faces.

"Um…sorry, did you say something?" asked Miyuki as she looked up at her audience in confusion.

"Are you okay?" questioned Hikaru with a frown.

"Yeah, I think so," answered Miyuki in confusion, "Why?"

"We were trying to get your attention," answered Keb. "You looked as if you were in some kind of trance or something."

"We noticed you standing near the rim of the Pool of Visions," explained Terrador gently. "You were staring down into as if you were gazing at something."

Miyuki lifted her right hand up to her forehead. "I…I think I did see something."

The dragons all looked at Miyuki in confusion before Cyril spoke. "What do you mean you saw something?"

"Um…it's hard to describe," said Miyuki shyly. "I'm not sure if I can remember all of it."

"It's alright Miyuki," spoke Terrador in a gentle voice. "Just tell us what you can remember from what you saw in the Pool of Visions."

Miyuki looked up at the dragons for a moment before taking in a deep breath, and began to tell the dragons what she had seen in the water.

"I saw some kind of beach that looked out at towards the sea," explained Miyuki. "But there was something on the beach that stood out."

Keb raised a non-existing eyebrow at Miyuki. "What was it?"

"It was a statue," answered Miyuki as she scratched the back of her head. "It almost looked like a dragon, but only its head looked like a dragon, while its body looked more snake like and it had two fins along its body."

"The statue of the Sea Serpents!" exclaimed Volteer in shock and surprise.

Miyuki stared up at the electric dragon in confusion. "Sea Serpents?"

"Sea Serpents are kind of like us dragons," explained Keb as he lowered his head to look Miyuki in the eye. "But unlike us dragons, the Sea Serpents are the water/sea dwellers of this world."

"We've never had much contact with the Sea Serpents," spoke Cynder as she sat down on the ground. "We usually keep to ourselves, and we only ever see each other by chance."

"But when we do see each other by chance, we wind up getting into unnecessary fights with one other." Cyril spoke with an exasperated look upon his face.

"Yes, it is a known fact that dragons and Sea Serpents don't see eye-to-eye," said Terrador with a nod. "Still, if your vision is showing where you can find Ren then you must make your way to Serpent Cove." Terrador turned his head to look at his son and Hikaru. "Keb, Hikaru. You two will go with Miyuki to help her find Ren."

"Yes sir!" exclaimed Keb as he stood straight to attention.

"You got it," said Hikaru with a nod before turning her gaze on Miyuki. "You'd best get your satchel, Miyuki. I have a feeling it's going to be a long trip for us."

Miyuki nodded her head. "I'll meet you and Keb outside on the platform."

The two younger dragons nodded before Miyuki raced out of the Council Chamber. Once she had left, Terrador turned his gaze on Hikaru and his son.

"You two be careful out there," he said with a serious look upon his face. "I have no doubt that the Dark Master's army will come looking for Miyuki."

"Yes sir," said Keb with a firm nod.

"We'll make sure nothing happens to Miyuki," said Hikaru with a cocky smile. "And if those apes do come around to harm her, then we'll teach them lesson they'll never forget."

"Do not get cocky young dragon," warned Terrador as he gave Hikaru a stern look. "Whoever is leading the Dark Army is not someone who we should underestimate. And if that's true, then they will stop at nothing to get their hands on Miyuki."

The cocky smile on Hikaru's face disappeared as she stared at Terrador for a moment, before a serious look came over her face. She slowly nodded her head at the Earth Dragon to show that she understood, before turning to follow after Keb to the platform. Terrador watched them leave as a grim expression came over his face.

"May the ancestors look after you," voiced Terrador softly. "May they look after us all."

Hikaru's sensitive hearing caught what Terrador had said, and she could help but repeat the words in her head as well. She hoped that their mission to find Ren was successful, and that they wouldn't encounter any of the members of the Dark Army. Hikaru now sat outside on the stone platform with Keb as they waited for Miyuki to come. It didn't take long for them to wait, as Miyuki came running up to them with her satchel hanging around her shoulders.

"Sorry for the long wait!" shouted Miyuki as she came to a stop in front of them.

"Have you packed what you needed for this trip?" asked Keb with a serious expression upon his face.

"Yep," answered Miyuki with a smile. "I made sure to pack all the essentials that I would need."

"Good," said Keb as he gave Miyuki a soft smile. "Then that means you're ready to take on another adventure."

"I try to be prepared for anything." Miyuki said with a look of pride on her face.

"Then what are we waiting for?" asked Hikaru with a smirk as she knelt down for Miyuki to climb onto her back. "Let's get this adventure started, and find that Waterbending teacher of yours."

Miyuki nodded her head in excitement before she quickly climbed up onto Hikaru's back. Once Miyuki was settled, Hikaru opened her wings, and leapt into the air with Keb following right behind her. The two dragons flapped their wings as they soar higher into the air. Miyuki let out an excited cheer as Hikaru did a barrel roll through the air, while Keb only rolled his eyes in amusement, before he shot forward to lead the way to Serpent Cove.

Back at the Dragon Temple, Spyro and Cynder had walked out onto the stone platform to watch the two young dragons disappear into the distance. Spyro stared intently at the two dragons as they flew further away from the temple. Cynder noticed how her mate held a serious expression upon his features, before she nuzzled up against his neck.

"I'm sure they'll be alright," reassured Cynder as Spyro gazed down at her with a light frown upon his features. "Terrador had trained his son to be one of the best fighters within the dragon army."

"I know," said Spyro as he rested his chin on top of Cynder's head. "I just hope that they can find this Ren, and bring her back to the temple to help Miyuki with her training."

Cynder silently agreed with her mate as she also hoped that Miyuki, Hikaru and Keb would find Ren soon. Yet she had a feeling that bringing Ren back to the temple was going to be a bit complicated.

Unknown Location

In the darkness, the Shadow Lord slept upon his stone platform. He was awoken when he heard the sound of feet coming towards him. The Shadow Lord slowly opened his eyes before he rose to his feet. He looked down to gaze upon the intruder that had disturbed his rest. The intruder was none other than one of the apes that served under him. The ape bowed when he reached the Shadow Lord's stone platform, while the Shadow Lord glared down at him expectantly.

"Well, what news do you have for me?"

The ape quickly straightened up to look up at the Shadow Lord in fear before he began to speak.

"One of our spies has spotted the Dragon Warrior, and two young dragons traveling over the Dragonfly Swamp." The ape answered in a rough voice. "They seem to be heading towards the coastline to Serpent Cove."

A low purr vibrated through the Shadow Lord's body as this information intrigued him. Why would the Dragon Warrior be traveling to Serpent Cove with two young dragons? He turned his gazed back down onto the ape again.

"Send your spies out to track and observe them," ordered the Shadow Lord. "I want to find out what the Dragon Warrior is up to, and why she is traveling to Serpent Cove."

"Yes my Lord." The ape said with a bow before standing up, and running out of the cavern.

As soon as the ape left the cave, the Shadow Lord turned, and began to venture deeper into the cavern. It wasn't long till the Shadow Lord came to a large pool of water. The water within the cavern was as black as ink, and it didn't reflect anything upon its surface. Hanging high above the pool was a large stalagmite that had a slow drip of water running down it sides. The Shadow Lord stood near the edge of the pool as he gazed down at its surface. A small drop of water fell from the stalagmite. It descended downwards before it hit the surface of the pool. The sound of the droplet hitting the pool's surface echoed throughout the cavern as the water within the pool began to ripple. The Shadow Lord's eyes began to glow red as his gaze intensified upon the water's surface.

"Show me the Dragon Warrior," whispered the Shadow Lord in a commanding voice.

At his command the black water began to glow. Slowly, it showed the image of Miyuki riding on Hikaru's back. A large smile was on her face as she patted the Light Dragon on the neck. The Shadow Lord gazed down at the image of Miyuki intensely as he watched how the girl spoke with the Light Dragon. But he could not hear what she was saying to the young dragon.

'How is it that someone as weak and fragile as you be destined to defeat me?' thought the Shadow Lord as he gazed down at Miyuki with an unreadable look upon his face. 'I know that I can easily take your life by simply plunging one of my claws into your chest, or crunch you between my jaws. Yet in the legend, it says that you will defeat me no matter what.' The Shadow Lord let out a scoff before a smirk appeared on his face. 'Though I do like a challenge, so I will see how far you'll go in your so-called training with the dragons, Dragon Warrior.'

The image on the surface of the water slowly faded as it became dark again, along with the red glow within the Shadow Lord's eyes. The Shadow Lord then turned and disappeared into the darkness of the cavern.

To Be Continued

Here's the next chapter of my story, sorry for the long wait I just had a little writers block, but I finally broke through it.

White Hunter, howling out to you and creativity!
