AN: A short fluffy one shot for someone's special day. It's shorter than I normally do, but I can't abide fluff, so this is what it is.
Disclaimer: I do not own PJO. If I did, Jason would not be a douche, and the history would not be nearly as butchered.
Nico grumbled as he was led forward, "Is this really necessary?"
Percy, Nico's boyfriend of a few scant months, laughed as he led his slight lover by the hand. Nico was currently blindfolded, and was putting foot in front of careful foot, completely ignorant as to where they were going. Nico had been yanked out of his cabin by his boyfriend and had been summarily deprived of his sight, but Percy had asked Nico to trust him. Given what Percy had been through before he had gotten together with Nico, the Son of Hades had decided to indulge him.
Percy had only just recently broken up with Annabeth, because even though the green eyed Son of Poseidon had gone to Tartarus and back for her, literally, she had still made Percy very much a secondary priority after the Giant War had abated. So, Percy had decided to move on, though the choice had been neither quick nor easy. Annabeth had certainly made it hard for Percy to stick to his guns, wheedling her ex to come back and give her another chance. The resulting dance of chaos had taken several months, but eventually, Percy and Annabeth had come out the other end single and scarred.
But, now, Nico had managed to convince the other demigod to give dating a second chance, and now the two of them were in a delicate, if wonderful, relationship. That didn't stop Nico from being nervous, however, as his boyfriend led him, blind. They had been walking for at least a quarter hour, the sounds of the camp slowly fading away, and giving away to a gentle rhythmic sound that had also since faded. Nico wasn't sure whether to be comforted or unnerved by the total silence that surrounded them. There was a peaceful feel to it, but it felt unlike the peace of the cemetery, which Nico was so used to.
"Alright," Percy said, and Nico could hear the smile in the older demigod's voice, "we're here."
"Finally," Nico grumbled as he yanked the blindfold off of his eyes. Nico felt his heart clench a little as he saw a picnic lain out on a blanket over the sand. Percy had gotten all of his favorites, and Nico was sure that Percy had pulled out all the stops. When Nico had the presence of mind to look around a little more, he noticed that they were in an underwater bubble in the ocean, judging by the marine life that was circling around them. They couldn't have been too deep, though, as there was still plenty of sunlight rippling over the setting.
"Percy…"
"Happy Three Month Anniversary, baby." Percy pulled his boyfriend into a hug, and Nico wrapped his arms around the taller young man in return. He had never felt more loved than when in Percy's warm presence, never more safe than when wrapped in his arms, and never more content than when staring into his lover's warm sea-green eyes. It was almost too much for the young Son of Hades to believe, that his dreams had come true.
And the moment, if it was possible for Nico, was made even more perfect by three little words, "I love you."
