Chapter 27: And So Begins the War

He didn't know how long he had been sitting there, next to his mother. He had stopped crying ages ago and was now in a sort of, state of shock. He was sitting there, on his knees, staring at the blood on his hands, yet he was strangely calm for the moment. He suddenly heard whimpering. Josh turned and saw that it was Pettigrew, silently crying about his hand that had been sliced off by Josh, and bleeding out. Look at what he did!? Look what he did to your mother! He deserves much more than a missing hand! You know that! We know that!

Josh looked down, seeing his wand at his knees. He slowly reached for it and grasped it. You know what to do! Josh shook his head a little, yet stood to his feet, and walked over to Pettigrew, who's eyes widened in horror at the sight of Josh. Josh glared down at the rat, clenched his teeth, and slowly raised his wand. "You took her away from me," he spoke. Good, good. "You took her life. Now I'm gonna take yours."

Pettigrew whimpered. "Y-you k-k-kill me," he stuttered, "Y-your f-father won't be f-free."

Who cares! You know the words! Just do it! He deserves it! Josh lifted his wand as the words for louder. Do it! You know those words! Those two words! The tip of his wand was giving off a sickly green glow. Go on! Do it!

Suddenly, Josh's wand was ripped out of his hand by magic. Josh snapped around seeing his father, limping up to him, breathing heavily, holding his and Josh's wand. Josh got a good look at him. The bridge of his nose was cut and he had a black eye.

"I've been looking everywhere for you," Sirius said, looking at his son, but then froze in his tracks when he saw her. "No!" He gasped, running over to Sandra and kneeling next to her. He reached her neck, and sighed in relief. He looked at Josh and gave a small smile. "She's alive."

Josh's heart jumped. His mother was alive. He quickly made his way over, kneeling over his mother on the opposite side of Sirius. "She is?" Josh asked. "But how? She was sliced open?" Sirius check Sandra's shirt, seeing the shirt slice open, yet there was no wound underneath it. Josh saw this and was confused. "I don't understand."

Sirius looked up at his son and smiled. "I do," he spoke, and then looked around. "Which one of these scum did this?" Josh pointed over at Peter as he stared at his mother. Sirius turned over and once he saw Peter, he became enraged. "Pettigrew!" he growled through his teeth. Sirius jumped to his feet, and began to make his way towards the rat, anger flowing through his body.

"Dad!" Josh yelped, getting up and moving in front of Sirius. No, let him do do it! Let him kill the rat! Josh stepped in front of Sirius and began to hold him back.

"You stole my best friends away from me!" Sirius yelled trying to move forward, but Josh was holding him back. Let him go. Let him kill the rat! Or do it yourself! "Now you were trying to take away the most important thing away from me! No! Not this time! And this time, you won't get away! "

"Dad!" Josh growled, grabbing onto Sirius's shirt. GET OUT OF THE WAY, YOU BLOOD TRAITOR! Josh's grip loosened, thinking as to why would he call himself that.

"Get out of my way!" Sirius growled, grabbing Josh by the shirt, and violently pushing him to the ground. Sirius gasped as Josh flew to the ground. Once Josh hit the ground, everything changed. All of his anger suddenly dissipated. He felt somewhat better than before. His heart rate began to slow and his mind was no longer clouded. He wasn't shaking with any anger and there was no alternate voice in his head. Josh slowly pushed off of the ground, standing to his feet, and turned around towards his father. He was surprised to see Sirius holding up the small thin chain with the Ring hanging from it. He was examining it.

"What is this?" Sirius asked.

"It's a Slytherin heirloom," Josh said, rubbing his chest.

"Then it belongs to you," Sirius replied, holding it out to Josh who suddenly took a step back.

He shook his head. "No," he said. "I don't want it anymore." He didn't. There was some strange magic coming from the Ring, and it was making Josh act differently and it somehow made him more angry; like it enhanced his emotions, but how was that possible?

"Why not?" Sirius asked with an inquiring eyebrow. Josh just shook his head. He didn't want it or want to give it to anyone he knew. "Well, what do you want to do with it?"

"Give it to Dumbledore," Josh said in an instant. "Since it's Slytherin's, it should be with Hogwarts. I-in a case or something."

Sirius nodded, pocketing the ring. "Alright, I'll pass it over," he said. "If I know one thing about Dumbledore, is that he'll keep it safe."

Suddenly, there were many cracks around the room. "Freeze!" someone shouted. Sirius was hit with a disarming spell, knocking his and Josh's wands into hands of others; Aurors. Sirius and Josh froze, slowly raised their hands up in defense. A few Aurors walked up to Josh and Sirius, mostly making their way up to Sirius. "Looks like we've got Black and Emrys," spoke the lead Auror that Josh recognized as Dawlish. "Alright, you lot, let's round up these Death Eaters. Smith, Rowatsikin, bring in Mister Black!"

"What, why?" Josh said, taking a step forward, but then he was pushed back by an Auror. "He's innocent. Peter Pettigrew is over there! He's alive!" Josh yelled, pointing over at Peter. The Auror known as Smith walked over to Peter and examined him.

"Yeah, he's Pettigrew alright," Smith said.

"See," Josh said, turning to Dawlish. "My father was always innocent. You can't take him in!"

"Son, there's this thing we have to follow," Dawlish began, "It's called Wizarding Law. We still have to take him in to get things straighten out."

"But - "

"Joshua, It's okay," Sirius spoke up as his hands were magically cuffed behind his back. Josh worriedly turned to look at his father. "It's okay. We've got the rat. That's what we need so we can be free and be together. All of us."

Josh nodded, "But what about me?" he said. "I was expelled from Hogwarts!"

"Dumbledore had been reinstated as Headmaster of Hogwarts mere minutes ago," Dawlish informed, "Meaning your expulsion was reversed. As was Mr. Malfoy's and Miss Emrys's. You're all invited back into Hogwarts." Josh sighed but nodded nonetheless. "Auror Shaine, take Emrys to the Infirmary." And Auror nodded and levitated Sandra away.

Josh watched as his mother, father, and the remaining Death Eaters were taken away. He turned back to Dawlish. "What's happened to everyone else? My friends?" he asked.

"Most of them are being returned to Hogwarts, which is where you'll be going," Dawlish informed. Most of us, Josh thought solemnly, bowing his head. He knew what Dawlish meant by that. Not all of his friends made it out safe tonight. Some were injured, yet he knew one of his friends was dead, and it was all his fault. "Ah, Auror Tonks."

Josh's head snapped up, seeing his cousin make her way over with an apologetic smile. She knows, Josh thought. She had to. "Dawlish," Tonks greeted with a nod. "I'm here to take Mr. Black back to Hogwarts." Dawlish nodded. Tonks waved over to Josh. "Come on, Josh." Josh began to follow Tonks, but not before Josh was handed three wands. His and his parents' wands.

Josh followed Tonks through the Ministry which was now bustling with many witches and wizards who worked there, political officials, Aurors, and the people who worked for the Daily Prophet. But he didn't care about anyone but the people most closest to him. He was worried about his father, his unconscious mother, his girlfriend who was hit with some curse he couldn't pin-point, and then his second in command, Blaise. He wondered what Mrs. Zabini going to say. What was Tracey going to say when she found out? He had a feeling they were going to blame him. Of course they were, how couldn't they?

Josh was lead to the Auror Offices and into a lone office where Tonks handed him a broken watch. "It's a portkey," Tonk told him. Josh nodded. "It'll activate any minute." Josh nodded again when he remembered something.

"Gordian Knott," he spoke.

Tonks rose an eyebrow. "What about him?" she asked.

"Draco and Rina are at his place in Edinburough village," Josh told her, looking up at her, noticing she had small cuts on her face. She must had been in the ending battle. "You should bring them back to Hogwarts, that's where they belong." Tonks smiled and nodded. "And one more thing."

"Yes?"

"Have you ever wanted a little sister?" Josh asked, but at that moment, the portkey activated. Josh felt the tug of his navel as he was suddenly transported. A few seconds later, his feet hit hard ground, buckling, and he fell to his hands and knees. Josh heard voices and it was bright. He stood up and looked around. He was in the Hospital Wing of Hogwarts.

Josh began to walk through. There were a couple of Order members in beds, but towards the back of the Wing, that's where his storming party was. He came across Ron's bed first. Ron was laying back with a goofy grin on his face, staring at the ceiling, his arm covered in bruises. Next was Hermione, who's clothing was cut and singed in paces, a glossy look in her eyes. Then he came across Tracey's bed. She was a bit disheveled, looking mostly unharmed and normal, yet staring hard at her knees. A second later, he slowly walked up to the last bed, his heart racing. There she was; pale and unconscious, and being worked on by Madam Pomfrey.

Josh made his way towards the end of the bed. He watched her. It looked like she was sleeping, peacefully, and not in any kind of pain. But he knew that that was a lie. She was going to be in more pain later, but not in more pain than -

"Josh?" Josh heard Tracey say. "Josh, where's Blaise?" she asked. Josh glanced over at Tracey, shook his head, and looked away. He heard the sobs coming from Tracey, trying to hold back his own tears. Suddenly, the doors of the Hospital Wing burst open.

Two sets of families rushed in, bustling over and through the room. Josh turned and saw a bunch of Redheads gather around Ron's bed, and then a group of three come his way, towards the bed he was at. He took a couple of steps back as Aurora, Victor, and Astoria ran up to Daphne's bed.

"Oh my baby," Aurora said, tears in her eyes, sitting on her bed. Astoria, who also had tears in her eyes, hugged herself as she walk up to her sister's bed. Victor walked up as well, his face hollow at first, that was until he spotted Josh. Victor became enraged.

"LOOK AT WHAT YOU DID!" he shouted, walking up to Josh and violently grabbing Josh by the front of his shirt. Every turned towards the commotion in shock. "LOOK AT WHAT YOU DID TO MY LITTLE GIRL! I TOLD YOU, BLACK! I TOLD YOU TO STAY AWAY FROM HER OR SOMETHING LIKE THIS WOULD HAPPEN! YOU DID THIS! YOU DID THIS TO HER!"

Josh let Victor shake him around, nor did he try to correct him, because he knew that this man was right. It was his fault that Daphne was hit with that curse, or that Blaise was dead. Tears began to stream down Victor's face as he let out his emotions. "WHY DIDN'T YOU LISTEN TO ME!? SHE DOESN'T BELONG THERE! YOU DO! - "

" - Victor!" Aurora shouted, standing to her feet. "You let him go!" Victor clenched his teeth but let go of Josh nonetheless. "You know full well that it wasn't Josh's fault. It was v-v-voldemort's." she said loud and clear. "He and his monsters did this to our girl, not Josh. It wasn't his fault. You know that! Our daughter believed in something tonight. Something our family has denied being apart of for so long. But after this, being neutral isn't the way out. We were wrong to stay out of it! And look where it go us. We are a part to be blamed for this! Not Josh. Us! We are accepting Dumbledore's offer to join the Order! We are going to fight, not for us! But for our daughters! So they don't have to!" Victor looked at his wife with huge admiration and nodded.

"Okay," he said. "For our Daughters."

Suddenly, there was a deafening scream. Everyone jumped and turned. Josh's stomach flopped. There she was, crumpled onto the floor, crying her eyes out. It was Blaise's mother, Mrs. Zabini. She was on her knees, next to Professor Vector. Josh knew she was informed of Blaise's death. Her sobs made Josh feel even more worse than before. He couldn't take it, so he ran for it. It was too much. People shouted after him as he ran. He couldn't face anyone at the moment. He just needed to be alone.

He had failed in his mission, but he didn't care. He was about to put this war into motion and it was to become his world. He just needed to kill the boys; not just one boy, but three that had the potential to stand in his way. He knew one of the boys was to be killed by him and only him, that was how it was foretold, how it was going to be. As for the other two boys -

"Are you ready?" he asked, turning around to face his dark robed guest.

"I am," he spoke with a bow. "I am honored to have this particular task bestowed upon me."

"You will not fail me." It wasn't a question but a statement.

"I will not. May death be my punishment if I do fail."

Voldemort turned to his right, giving an evil grin. "He will do, Silus," he spoke.

Silus stepped forward and bowed. "Of course, My lord," he said. "Thank you for this opportunity."

Voldemort turned away. "It's a shame your daughter didn't follow in your footsteps," he said.

"Do not worry, My Lord," Silus spoke. "She will suffer the same fate as my nephew."

"Good. Leave me."

Silus bowed as he and the robed figure left the room from Voldemort and began to walked down an unknown corridor. "This is an important task," Silus fiercely spoke. "You will not fail, you understand me!"

The robe figured lowered his hood, revealing the face of Silus's son, Cyrus. He was sneering. "I will not fail!" Cyrus hissed, he pulled of his robe, revealing his new tattoo, the Dark Mark. "I have been seething for Revenge for the past year, father. This time next year, Joshua Black will be dead!"

"Good," Silus said with a nod. "And to accomplish that. You must start by attacking his heart!"

The Second War Begins

HE-WHO-MUST-NOT-BE-NAMED RETURNS

"In a brief statement on Friday night, Minister for Magic Cornelius Fudge confirmed that HeWho-Must-Not-Be-Named has returned to this country and is active once more.

"'It is with great regret that I must confirm that t he wizard styling himself Lord - well, you know who I mean - is alive and among us again,' said Fudge, looking tired and flustered as he addressed reporters. 'It is with almost equal regret that we report the mass revolt of the Dementors of Azkaban, who have shown themselves averse to continuing in the Ministry's employ. We believe the Dementors are currently taking direction from Lord - Thingy.

"'We urge the magical population to remain vigilant. The Ministry is currently publishing guides to elementary home and personal Defense which will be delivered free to all wizarding homes within the coming month.'

The Minister's statement was met with dismay and alarm from the wizarding community, which as recently as last Wednesday was receiving Ministry assurances that there was 'no truth whatsoever in these persistent rumors that You-Know-Who is operating amongst us once more'.

"Details of the events that led to the Ministry turnaround are still hazy, though it is believed that He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named and a select band of followers (known as Death Eaters) gained entry to the Ministry of Magic itself on Thursday evening.

"Albus Dumbledore, newly reinstated Headmaster of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, reinstated member of the International Confederation of Wizards and reinstated Chief Warlock of the Wizengamot, has so far been unavailable for comment. He has insisted over the past year that You-Know-Who is not dead, as was widely hoped and believed, but is recruiting followers once more for afresh attempt to seize power. Meanwhile, the 'Boy Who Lived' –"

Josh crumpled up the newspaper, tossing it aside, and used his wand to burn it to a crisp. A few days had passed by, and Josh was sitting at the edge of the lake. A war was beginning and after everything Josh had been through, years one through five, what he decided to call, the pre-war; Josh wasn't sure if he wanted to be apart of it anymore. All of this had caused him so much pain. He lost his best friend, and nearly lost the girl he was sure he may want to marry someday, but now he wasn't so sure about that. He nearly lost his mother as well, but as Sirius explained to him, it seemed as if it was Josh's love that once again saved his mother. Josh was still confused at the concept of Love being the most powerful magic of all.

Josh heard footsteps that stopped behind him. "She's awake," said the familiar voice of Draco. By she, Josh knew he meant Daphne. She had awaken the night after the Battle, but Josh hadn't went to see her since he was yelled at by Victor. "She wants to see you." Josh didn't say anything. "Come on, mate. You should go see her. You can't avoid her all the time. You have classes together. Same goes with Tracey. You're gonna have to face them sometime." Josh stood to his feet. "You know they don't blame you. They knew the risks, Josh!"

"That still doesn't help," Josh finally spoke. "Gordian was right! We just jumped right into this instead of figuring out a straight plan to...make work. But now I have his blood on my hands!"

"You thought Sirius was in trouble," Draco said. "It's understandable. You wanted to save your father! Potter wanted to save his godfather! There was no other way!"

Josh shrugged and began to walk up towards the castle. "Whatever," he mumbled. Draco sighed and shook his head.

Josh entered the castle and began to walk through it. He didn't know where he was going. He didn't care, yet before he knew it. He was at the Gargoyle. He looked up at it, and it moved at once. Josh stepped onto the stairs, making his way up to the door leading to the Headmaster's office. A minute later, Josh entered the office, moving into the center of it. It was mostly empty unless you count the many paintings of the previous Headmasters. Josh moved over towards the desks and began to search the drawers. He didn't find it after the first few drawers, just many trinkets and do-dads. He opened a top drawer surprised to find a familiar black diary with a large hole inside it. He lifted up and examined it, but then dropped it back into the drawer.

"It's not here."

Josh looked up and saw Dumbledore. Even though he was caught, he had to admit it. Dumbledore was pretty good at making a quiet entrance. Josh walked around the desk and began to make way towards the exit. "I don't know what you're talking about," he lied.

"I know how you feel," Dumbledore said when Josh passed him.

Josh stopped in his tracks, suddenly becoming angry. He turned back to Dumbledore. "No, you don't," he replied heavily. "Someone was killed because of me, Professor. What do you know about that! What do you know about having no remorse for those you kill? Huh? You may be this great wizard, but you don't know anything!" Dumbledore gazed sadly over at Josh who's eyes threatened to spill with tears.

Josh turned but stopped when the Headmaster spoke again. "I must advise you to never go looking for the Stone again," he advised as flames ignited behind Josh.

"Why not?!" Josh said through his teeth, not turning back because he didn't want to show that he was crying.

"It will only bring you more pain," Dumbledore informed.

"But I need to see him, tell him I'm sorry," Josh told, wiping his cheeks. "He needs to know."

Josh felt someone place a hand on his shoulder. "Trust me, he knows." Josh turned around, seeing his father. His father, who knew exactly how Josh felt, stood there, looking sadly at his son. "I will tell you this, Josh. The pain will never go away. Or fade away. It will always be there, but we adapt, and will learn to live with it. It will become a part of us, and it will make us stronger." Josh nodded, and then hugged his father who hugged back. "Come on, Son. Let's go see your mother."

Half an hour later, Josh and Sirius were at St. Mungo's, entered Sandra Emrys room. She had been here for the past few days and still hadn't woke up. She had lost so much blood and was still recovering from it. Josh walked over and sat in a chair next to his Mother's bed and take her hand in his. She had gained more color since the last time he saw her, and she was more warmer. Sirius sat on the opposite side of her, on the bed, touching her forehead.

At that moment, the Healer walked in, smiling at Sirius and Josh. "Oh, good, you're here," he said, waking up to them. "I can give you the good news."

"Good news?" Sirius repeated, looking excited.

"Yes," The Healer said with a nod. "Your wife is going to make a full recovery. She is going to be perfectly fine. We were able to save them both!"

"Both!?" Josh repeated, looking confused. The Healer looked between Josh's and Sirius's confused expressions.

"More good news then!" The Healer said with a smile, and looked over at Josh. "Well, young man, it looks like you're going to be a big brother!"

Josh's heart jumped. "Me!" he screeched. The Healer nodded.

"Whoo!" Sirius whooped, jumping into the air. And for the first time in a while, Josh smiled. His mother was pregnant. She was going to have a baby and he was going to be a big brother. Joshua Black is going to be a big brother.

There was a moan. Josh turned to see his mother was stirring. Sirius smiled and moved back next to his mother. "Sweetie?" he said.

"Josh?" she moaned, blinking her eyes open.

"I'm here, mum," Josh said, squeezing her hand. He felt her squeeze back. He saw her look at him, a tear falling down her eye.

"I'm sorry," she said.

Josh moved closer to his mother and smiled. "It's okay, mum," he replied. "I'm not mad anymore. You're my mum and I love you." He glanced at his father. "I couldn't ask for a more better father." Sandra smiled and Josh moved in close to hug his mother tightly. All was forgiven and the family that was broken many years ago, was now together again. Whole once more.

Another day passed, and he stood there at the doors of the Hospital Wing. After witnessing what Josh had seen between his mother and father being a loving couple, and after reuniting the family. It was time to reunite with someone Josh loved even more than his parents. Josh entered the Hospital Wing, feeling nervous. He hadn't felt so nervous since he went to ask Daphne to the Yule Ball back in fourth year. He made his way over towards the last bed, where Daphne happened to be. There she was. She was awake, reading a book, looking beautiful as always. He stopped a few feet away, but she hadn't looked at him at all. He stared at her, unsure of how to approach her -

"It's about time," Daphne suddenly spoke, glancing up at Josh. He shivered inwardly as he felt more nervous. Josh stepped up to her bed. "Why haven't you come earlier? Like when I first woke up?"

"I had some things I needed to work out," Josh answered, fiddling with his fingers. He looked up at Daphne who had crossed her arms and was slightly glaring his way. "Daphne, look - "

"No!" Daphne blurted.

"What?" said a confused Josh.

"No, Josh," Daphne repeated with a huff. "I said no! I don't care what you have to say, because it's not going to happen. What happened back in the Ministry with me and Blaise and everyone else, it wasn't your fault. It was no one's but the Dark Lord's. The sooner you get that through your thick head, the better!" she growled, and then wobbled out of bed. "I got it!" She hissed when Josh took a step forward to help her, but stayed where he was. Daphne stood on her feet.

"No!" she said again. "You look here, Black! After everything we've been through, after all the holding back. I'm not going to hold back anymore and you're not going to either. I want to be with you and I know you want to be with me. We love each other. And I would follow you to the ends of the Earth, hell I took a curse for you. That's how much I love you!" Josh slightly smirked as he let her speak. "We aren't broken up anymore, and I won't accept anything else. You're stuck with me, Mr. Black, for the rest of your life! Now, what do you have to say!"

Josh was trying not to laugh. "Well," he began, "I came here because I was going to beg you to take me back." Daphne's mouth dropped as Josh chuckled. "But I see I don't need to do that."

"Oh shut it," Daphne said, trying not to smile. "I should have just let you beg."

"Probably," Josh replied, pulling Daphne into a hug. She hugged him back. And then he felt it. The warmth. The love. This is where he belonged. In Daphne's arms. Bye here side, through thick and thin, and that's when he knew at this moment. Daphne was meant for him. She was the light to his dark.

His grandfather was right about love being the most powerful magic of all.

Josh looked upwards. "Thanks, Grandpa."

"Are you sure this is what you want to do?" Daphne asked.

"After Blaise and after you," Josh said with a nod. "I want to stay out of it. And you should too. I don't want to lose anyone else close to me, especially you. I love you too much. I don't know what I would do if I lost you."

Daphne smiled and nodded. "Okay," she said. "Like I said, I'm by your side. I will be with you by your side whether or not we're in this war." Josh smiled, and pulled his trunk from the rail of the compartment. They were leaving the Hogwarts express. Tracey and Draco had already left the train and were waiting for Josh and Daphne on the platform. Josh grabbed his and Daphne's trunk and began to make their way off the train. "How did Harry take this news? The news of you not wanting to be apart of the war?"

Josh shrugged. "I haven't told him yet," he muttered.

"What!" Daphne blurted. "Why not?"

Josh shrugged again. "I got all summer," he replied, "We'll be living together. There will be a right time and place to tell him, but that isn't right now. I just hope he won't be too disappointed."

"You know Tracey will be," Daphne stated.

"Yeah, I know," Josh said, and then smiled. "That's why you're gonna tell her."

Daphne huffed. "Why do I have to tell Tracey - "

"Tell me what?" Tracey suddenly appeared, with Draco and Rina by her side. Josh looked over at Daphne who's mouth as moving up and down. Tracey looked hollow. She was depressed, ever since she heard about the death of her boyfriend. She has lost everything but she wasn't giving up just yet. She had a vendetta. She wanted revenge. She couldn't take out the bastard who took Blaise, as Josh did. But she did want the person who stole her parents away; Virgil Wellington. A ruthless Death Eater known as the Butcher.

"That Josh has a tattoo!" Daphne lied.

"Oooh, what is it!" Tracey asked in excitement. "You've seen it? Wait a minute, did you guys...?" She glanced between Daphne and Josh who shared a glance. "Oh sweet Merlin. You have, haven't you!"

"My sweet Tracey," Daphne said, and then kissed Josh on the cheek. "You'll never know!" Tracey huffed. Daphne kissed Josh's cheek again. "Write me?"

"Every other day," Josh answered, and then kissed her on the lips. "I'll see you."

"Bye." Daphne said, and left with Tracey who began berating her with many questions.

"You haven't gone that far with Daphne have you," Draco commented.

Josh chuckled. "Of course not," he answered. "Let's go home!"

And then he was home. Back in his old room, back in London. Josh was unpacking his things. He smiled as he looked around the room. He was glad to be back. He began to toss things out of his trunk when he pulled something that wouldn't come out. He pulled hard when suddenly, his trunk flipped over, things spilling over, everywhere. Josh sighed in annoyance. He began picking things up. He lifted a shirt and heard a thunk. He looked over and saw a man hand-sized box that was gift wrapped. Josh remembered that it was the gift his mother gave him before she was carted off to Azkaban. He had forgot all about it.

Now curious more than ever, Josh grabbed the box and opened it. He tore off the wrapping paper, revealing an ordinary box. Josh lifted the lid and was met with something amazing. He gasped in awe. There in the box, was a purple colored egg. Josh carefully picked up the egg and held it in his hand where is suddenly grew two sizes. Josh's heart began to pace in excitement, and then smiled when it moved and began to shake. The egg began to hatch, and something began to break open. Josh's heart pounded with heavy excitement. Suddenly, it burst out, letting out a most pleasant sound. It was like a musical not. Josh looked down in awe. It was a baby, with tiny purple and black feathers. It was a phoenix.

Josh smiled widely. "Hi, Blaise."
