I probably wasn't supposed to see that.

Who am I kidding? Of course I wasn't supposed to see it. I'm not even supposed to be here. I mean, not that I'm not supposed to be here. They invited me for dinner and then to stay the night. Only in the Winchester lives I guess could it be normal to burn two monsters, bury the ashes, pick up a pizza, and then go to bed early.

So after beer and deep dish, Dean showed me to my room. He said sorry for the room maybe being musty, asked me again if I was okay, told me where the bathroom was, and said he had to get back to Sam before Sam carried everything down to the kitchen like Dean already told him he wasn't supposed to do.

I don't know how that turned out, but I'm going to guess that Sam didn't back down and that Dean didn't make him back down.

So I got comfy in my 'no, not musty at all…' bed. Being so far away from ground level and traffic, everything was quiet. So quiet I could hear Dean and Sam talking out in the library or map room or wherever they were, although I couldn't make out the words.

After a while, Dean walked past my 'oh, did I accidentally leave that open a crack?' door and went into his own bedroom. He left his door open too, I'm gonna guess so he could keep an ear on Sam, and from my angle I could see his boots as he sat on his bed with his legs stretched out. He left his light on and I wondered if he was reading until he went to sleep.

Or until Sam went to sleep.

Not too much later though, Sam walked past and stopped at Dean's room. He stood there a couple of seconds then went in. I guess Dean hadn't lasted that long because Sam unlaced Dean's boots and pulled them off and set them on the floor. He pulled a blanket over Dean, shut off the light, pulled the door halfway closed and went down to his own room.

I probably wasn't supposed to see that.

But I'm glad I did.
