A/N: LOL SO I FELT LIKE WRITING SOMETHING DEPRESSING.

I think it's because finals is coming up, and, well, I just feel like I'm dying. This story is a whole different reason to cry though... but oh well, it's good to upload one-shots once in a while. c:

I hope you guys like!

"Please leave a message after the beep."

Beep.

...

"Um…hello? Mikuo, are you there? Well, I know you're not there… right? You always used to pick up the phone, even if you didn't know the number, just because you were someone who always did that…"

Miku tightened her grip on her cell phone, viewing the night sky on her living room balcony for comfort.

"U-Um...well… I just wanted to see how you were doing…"

The building lights twinkled in the distance, the light reflecting on Miku's eyes.

"Last time we saw each other, we didn't leave such a good impression. It was sort of bad, actually… Do you remember me throwing that frame at you? Yeah… you…you looked like you were ready to strangle me, almost…" Miku chuckled. "Did I make you as mad as you were when Kagamine-san came and began to flirt with me? You punched him, Mikuo! Of course, I shouldn't really wonder about this… the thought of you punching me is really just something I would never imagine…"

Awkwardness rang, the sounds of only several cars honking preventing the most absolute silence.

"You would never do something like that… Even when we broke up, if I had pushed you into something, you would never hurt me physically… Many guys wouldn't do so… I mean, wouldn't hurt me physically," Miku clarified, gripping the device with a stronger grip.

"…So… how are you? Are you seeing anyone new…? I mean, we were together for a while, but you know what they say, that closed doors lead to open ones, right? Who knows, maybe you're with a n-new g-girl right now…"

Complete silence.

"M-Mikuo… why did we break up? I know we were fighting a lot recently, but…" she trailed off, her voice quivering. "I still-"

"Maximum message memory reached. Please hang up the phone."

Miku left the words hang for a moment. Reality seemed to shift back once the dial tone began to ring.

"…I still l-love you." Miku said a bit louder, as silent tears began to stream down her face. "I love you so much, Mikuo."

Miku's tears fell in larger drops now. She fell to the floor.

"I still love you, but you'll never know!"
