Welcome all! Some of you may or may not have read my other works, and so know that I am a huge Inheritance fan, in fact devoting my entire fanfiction writing to that storyline! This is a fresh start for me, as I haven't updated in an absurdly long time, for which I most sincerely apologize.
Anyways...
This is simply an introduction to a story I've had in mind, sort of as a sample to gauge the general interest. I'll probably end up writing it anyways, but a warm welcome would certainly speed up the process! (the intro is vague I know, but I have better content coming I promise!)
It has been thirty years since the Last War, the war that at last brought Alagaesia its long deserved peace. Eragon Shadeslayer (though some in the darker corners of the land whisper Kingkiller), son of Brom, had rid the land of its cruel king and freed those oppressed under his century long rule. And, though this was a knowledge only a handful of people knew, he had rekindled the age of the Dragon Riders by unlocking the Vault of Souls and the dragon eggs and Eldunarí that lay stored within it. Already an egg once under Galbatorix's possession had hatched, a green dragon by the name of Fírnen to the elven queen Arya, daughter of Islanzadí and Evandar. Additionally, Alagaesia welcomed its new queen, the young and promising Nasuada, daughter of Ajihad. The joy of long-awaited peace and sweet liberty had however been cut short by Eragon's decision to leave Alagaesia (permanently if the fortuneteller Angela's startlingly accurate predictions were anything to be believed), which caused a great deal of trouble for everyone, particularly Eragon himself, who longed to stay with his companions yet felt deep down that the future of the Riders was too important, and that his departure from Alagaesia was necessary in order to ensure the safe future of the Dragon Riders. And so this story begins three decades after those fateful days in Uru'baen- renamed Ilirea by Queen Nasuada of Alagaesia- three decades into the new golden age; the Age of Dragons.
