I'm a stranger wondering into once familiar grounds…

I want to start off by just saying wow… I feel strange writing and posting something through fanfic. It's been so long… almost five years, if I'm correct! It's amazing what can happen in five years, and I'm amazed by how many people still come back to this story, or comment. Coming back and reading my old work honestly makes me cringe with how simplistic the dialogue is, and how transparent and brittle the plot is (roasting the shit out of myself lol). I'm not even sure if I had an actual plan in mind when I started this fic in my freshman year of high school, which sounds stupid as hell, but I remember having so much fun writing this story, and that's what matters, right?

I still read some fanfics hear and there, but for the most part, I've kind of just moved on from that aspect of my life. Since I've stopped updating the story, life has just sort of… continued on, I guess? I graduated high school, started college, moved out of my parents' place, met new people, and experienced new things. I'm currently entering my junior year at university, working for my BS in Biochemistry (I'm tearing my hair out now because it's finals week), and I have high hopes and plans for the future.

But now I have to address the story, because it's unfair for those who are waiting for an update. On a side note, I would like to thank everyone that has supported this old work of mine and thank those who have stuck around for all these years! I'm officially calling it quits and putting it out there that this work if forever to remain unfinished. I'm sorry for those that wanted an update, but my interests are no longer aligned with completing this fic, and I'm ready to move on. However, the idea behind New Teacher Okumura is open for anyone to use if they want to start a story of their own. Thank you, thank you, thank you for supporting me after all this time, and good luck on your future endeavors!

(So nostalgic writing that! And fun fact: Kinue is my middle name, it's Japanese!)
