He could feel his ears nervously flick from side to side, a small bead of sweat tracing its way down his back as he stood by the altar.

It had seemed like such a long ago dream that he'd be standing here, with her walking towards him, dressed in white.

Tails felt a tap on his shoulder, Sonic stood there beside him. The blue was dressed in his royal regalia with Sally just behind him. The smiles on their faces threatened to bring tears to the young fox's eyes. His attention, however, quickly shifted to the woman coming down the aisle.

Even behind the veil the happiness in her eyes was barely contained.

Time felt like a blur and seemed to crawl all at once, he tuned out everything else as he absorbed her image, their hands clasped together.

He could hear Sonic announce, "You may now kiss the bride."

His eyes closed and the world faded from under his feet.

"Tails."

He could feel her breath on his chest.

"Tails?"

Slowly opening his eyes, he returned to that deep blue gaze from what seemed like a moment and an eternity ago. What a vivid dream. One that he would burn into the back of his mind, the pleasant feeling in his chest still filling him to the brim.

"Did you sleep any better?"

He realized that she was still in his arms.

She shifted forward, planting a light kiss on his lips. "Thanks to you." His ears felt like they were going to catch fire, but despite his pounding heart he pulled her closer and returned her affection.

"I'm glad. You had me worried."

Being this close to her, he could feel their hearts beat.

"It all seemed so real, Miles."

His ears perked at his birth name. "I know, believe me."

She let out a stored sigh, he could faintly smell mint. "I can't lose you. It would kill me."

"You mean everything to me, Fiona. There is no way I'd go without a fight, like I told you last night."

The vixen broke their embrace, opting to roll over and push her back against him. He felt her hands touch his, pulling them over her like a cover.

"I love you."

He smiled into her hair, "I love you too." Those words always warmed him from head to foot.

They fell quiet for some time after that. Light from the early morning bled through the room darkening shades. His dream inched its way to the front of his mind. It was black and white to her nightmare, he pondered why dreams acted the way they did.

Tails listened to her breathes get quieter, longer, signaling that she had returned to sleep. Nicole would not be stopping by their place until the evening so he glanced at the clock and followed her back to their dreams.

After a not-so-short nap the two finally managed to stir and break their sleepy atmosphere. Tails sat up in the bed, finally relinquishing the grip on his lover. He reached for the ceiling, his back popping loudly.

The boy looked over to see Fiona doing the same, almost wanting to chuckle seeing her stretch to her limit. Their stomachs growled in the silence, prompting them both to laugh.

"I'll make us some food."

Getting out of bed he went to the bathroom, wanting to brush his teeth before taking a shower. He didn't have a guest room in the house so there was only the one restroom, so he wanted to get in and out so Fiona could get ready while he made brunch.

Leaning down to spit in the sink he could see a flash of red behind him, along with black pajamas flying off. His cheeks caught on fire as he saw the last of Fiona's backside disappear into the curtain of the tub.

He didn't hear the sound of the water turn on, but he did her squeal. His mind was trying to comprehend what just happened.

Tails wrapped up his cleaning and barely stuttering out, "Was that really necessary?"

"I j-just thought I'd be f-funny. Holy moly that's cold!" Fiona said through chattering teeth.

He paused.

"Y-you're blushing, aren't you?"

Picturing the smile on her face made his ears burn.

"I'm going to make some food, don't use all the hot water!" He all but shouted, not knowing if he were more embarrassed or nervous.

"Sure thing!"

Grumbling going down the stairs he tried to not think about the view he was given by his girlfriend.

He failed.

There was not much in the way of lunch around his house, being he usually was at his workshop this time of day, but there was enough to get them by until Nicole dropped by to take Fiona dancing.

The thought made him chuckle.

I wonder if I should brush up on my dancing… it's been so long since I've attended a formal event.

Scratching his chin, he continued making some simple sandwiches and sides that they could have, his ears flicking when he heard the water upstairs shut off.

At least she's pretty quick when it comes to getting ready.

Those thoughts were quickly followed by more embarrassing ones. He never remembered having such tasteless thoughts while they were back at the cabin. His mind swam with the dream and Fiona, his heart starting to jump a bit.

You're being like a kid all over again. "Calm down!" He patted his forehead, trying to get his thoughts back under control.

Her footsteps thankfully broke into his mind.

"Wow, it looks good!" She was dressed in some basic day clothes that were, while comfortable, more formfitting than what Tails wanted to deal with at the moment.

Looking down at the food he realized he got carried away in his runaway train of thoughts.

It looked like a catering plate, the sandwiches already cut in half and de-crusted for convenience and appearance. His eye twitched. That turned out all right I suppose.

He just smiled, "You know I always go all out. I'll take a shower after we eat."

She grinned and the two began their meal.

The crisp air filled his lungs as they crunched their way to meet Nicole, Tails deciding it would be better for them to get out of the house and just meet her at the studio.

It was overcast, the clouds shifting slowly south as fresh snow began to drift down on them. There were children out playing, the park they were traveling through filled with liveliness. It was memories like this, Tails imagined, that he'd cherish forever.

He felt Fiona's fingers lace with his, her mouth buried deep in the long golden scarf she had bought. The pilot had opted to fill a duffel with all the things someone might bring to the gym, he knew that, in some cases, his friend could be rigorous in her training.

It was a little over thirty minutes before they were to meet her, but the couple had made it to the studio where Nicole insured they would not be seen by any Freedom Fighters.

The building was a humble one, with a sleek modern design. Small snow mounds had grown near the door where the sun had not been able to reach.

Pushing the door the two ventured inside, the warm air welcoming them. Tails could hear music through the thick, sound padded walls of the different rooms. Since the end of Robotnik there was an explosion of all manners of art, from dancing to theater, paintings and music, the war having put a damper on expressiveness.

Nicole had told them to meet in room one-seventeen, a smaller studio further into the building, it would have enough space for the lynx to do her work. He could tell that Fiona was nervous, she had started fidgeting not long before they arrived.

Approaching the door, he smiled back at her, "You'll be fine, I'll be here."

She nodded slightly before following him inside, the smooth oak slab moved effortlessly.

While from the outside the building may have seemed humble, the interior was nothing to shrug at. The studio was well lit, mirrors lining the wall opposite the entrance. Their footsteps barely sounded through the dense wooden floor, the silence bothered Tails some.

After being around machines for so long… Something about the quiet made him itch, hence why he brought a small stereo.

"There's a changing room over in that corner," he said pointing to a small door. Having already set down the duffel bag Fiona retrieved her workout clothes.

Tails glanced at his watch, a quarter till, she'll be here any moment. The lynx being notoriously early to any appointment.

As if hearing his thoughts the lynx materialized by the door, already wearing her training outfit.

She looked at him, rather surprised, before speaking. "This is new."

He snorted, "Whatchu trying to say?"

The girl shrugged, looking this way and that. "Oh nothing, just the fact you're usually late."

His cheeks started burning, "I've been getting better about that!"

"I'm sure." She giggled.

Fiona stepped out of the changing room, wearing a black tank top and golden sweat pants. Tails had long since determined that she'd look beautiful in just about anything.

Scratching her cheek fur, she looked anxiously at Nicole, "Well, I guess I'm ready when you are."

His friend grabbed the stereo and queued up a slow, formal sounding beat. The silence finally getting cut, much to his relief.

"Okay, Fiona, let's take it nice and easy." She said as the AI held out her hand.

It took him a second, but Tails could see the fire stir in her eyes, the Fiona that the Freedom Fighters had known bubbling out.

With a determined, "Alright," Fiona took her hand and they started their dance.

A/N: This chapter was mostly focused on fluff, again… my bad! I'm trying to weave some experimenting into my writing to see if it spices it up at all, but don't really know how it turned out, trying to still keep it consistent!

I'm not sure if I'll be able to keep these chapters coming out this rapidly, I mean how long has it been since I've done two in the span of a month even. (This story coming out years ago, mind you.) But I'll try to keep it on track! I really, really, REALLY, hope I can get this story finished by Christmas or New Years at the latest, finally closing a chapter on my life with this story.

I've been asked a couple of times whether I have plans for a sequel in the works and, while no guarantees, I would like to continue this plot, I'm just not sure how. If I feel like there is no story left to tell it's better to just have it conclude cleanly, (unlike some other pieces of popular media), so maybe stay tuned on that? I keep some of my theoretical stories posted on my profile, but I doubt anyone really looks at that.

BUT ANYWAY. Pardon the long A/N!

I do hope you all enjoyed the chapter, I really like fluff so I hope you do too, and I'll see you next update! Feel free to review and let me know how I'm doing!

P.S: I am trying to increase the chapter sizes, I know some people like a little more "meat" to their reading, but I do hope that these shorter ones aren't too uncomfortable or jarring to read! :)
