Chapter 74

"Sarah." Cas said touching her shoulder.

She jumped at his touch, "Ah!" She grunted in pain before she wrenched her eyes open to see Cas staring down at her. "No… No no no no no. Not again! Just stay the hell away from me!" She yelled, trying to scoot away from him before she started to gag.

Cas managed to turn her onto her side before she threw up all the whiskey she had drunk all night. When she was finished, he gruffly said, "If you are done, we need to go help Sam now."

Sarah glared at him but let him help her up and into the truck he had waiting.

They had been driving for a little while when Cas's continued looks her way started to annoy her.

"What?" She asked, turning toward him slowly, since her body was still in so much pain.

He went back to staring out the front window and was silent for another moment before saying, "When I woke you… you thought I was Lucifer didn't you?"

Sarah turned away instead of answering.

"What did he do?" Cas asked quietly.

"So what, you care now?" Sarah snapped. "You didn't care what he would do when you freed him. So why care now?"

"Sarah… I thought…"

"You thought that Lucifer, the King of Lies and Deceit would stick to his word and just take out Amara. Well news flash, he lied. He almost got Dean stuck in the 40's on a scheme to get ahold of a hand of god. He knows where the bunker is and how to get in compromising the safety of our family. He failed to take out the darkness because he was never strong enough in the first place. Oh and let's not forget the fact that he tortured me. For days. He opened me up. Put one of those angel torture devices on my head. And what were you doing during all of this? When I was begging you to help me. Why, you were watching tv. Willingly letting him have full control."

He was silent, letting what she said sink in. He looked like he was going to say something when a new thought crossed his mind.

"How do you know that I was watching tv?"

Sarah sighed, deflating a little. She should have realized that he wouldn't really hear her. "Yeah, well when we tried to reach you and Crowley had to possess you to try and get your attention, I uh… used a new ability to see what was happening…"

"So you are still developing new abilities. I noticed that your aura was different. Stronger. But I really thought your abilities would have receded by now." Cas said, completely ignoring what she had said.

"Yeah well apparently I'm not completely human." She mumbled, sitting back in her seat growing very tired of this conversation.

"What? What do you mean?"

"I mean, according to Chuck, I have never been completely human."

"What?!"

"I don't want to talk about it. I just lost my husband and now my brother is in danger. We have more important things to discuss. Got it?"

As soon as they got back to the bunker, Sarah rushed over to the impala and grabbed the sod-off shotgun and her pistol.

"Alright. Let's go." She said, moving toward the door of the bunker. She opened it as quietly as she could, cursing under her breath when it squealed slightly. The inside door was quieter but still loud enough to alert anyone close by that someone was there. They made their way downstairs and saw pools of blood on the floor. Throwing Cas a look, she signaled for him to continue on into the library while she headed into the hallway to their right.

She checked the hallway quickly before hearing a woman in the other room say, "Hands in the air. Get on your knees."

"Who are you and where is Sam?" Cas countered as Sarah got into position behind the woman.

"Hands now." The woman repeated.

"No, you put your hands in the air." Sarah said coming in the side entrance, her gun aimed at the woman.

"You shoot me, I'll shoot him." The woman replied, shifting a little so she could see both Sarah a little, although her hair shielded her face still from Sarah.

"Go ahead. Won't help." Sarah replied, earning a weird look from Cas as the woman shifted nervously. "You see, once you shoot him, I'll shoot you in the arm and I'll continue to shoot your appendages until you tell me where my brother is and what you did to him."

"Your brother?" the woman asked, confused, while turning a little more so Sarah was able to see some of her face.

"Hey… I know you…" Sarah said as her aim faltered a little as she started to recognize the woman.

"Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa! It's okay. They are friends. Alright?" Dean said, rushing into the room and stepping between all of them.

"Dean!" Cas exclaimed quickly pulling Dean into a hug.

"Hey. Okay. Alright."

"Dean. You're alive?" Cas asked.

"Yeah." Dean replied, looking over at a shell-shocked Sarah.

Snapping herself out of her stupor, Sarah tossed her gun onto one of the tables as she rushed over to Dean, pushed him forcefully when she got there.

"You're alive!" She accused before jumping onto of him so that her legs wrapped around his waist and kissed him soundly as he held her up.

The woman looked away uncomfortably.

After a moment Sarah pulled away, "Wait. What about the bomb and the Darkness? What happened?"

"I'll tell you everything… Where's Sam?" He asked setting Sarah back down.

"He's not here." Cas replied.

"Are you two hunters?" the woman asked, reminding everyone she was there.

"No, I'm an angel." Cas said at the same time that Dean said, "He's an angel." And Sarah said, "Yes."

"Come again?"

"An angel, with a… a capital 'A'. You know, wings, harp." Dean explained.

"No, I don't have a harp." Cas interjected.

"Is she an angel too?"

"No…" Dean said then gestured to Cas, "This is Cas, he's an angel and over here is Sarah… my wife…" Dean said putting his arm around Sarah. "Cas, Sarah, this is…"

"No… She can't be… can she?" Sarah stammered before Dean could finish, as she suddenly figured out why the woman looked familiar.

"Oh she is. Cas, Sarah, this is Mary… Winchester…"

"Your mother." Cas realized.

"Oh wow." Sarah said, wide-eyed. "Oh wow." She then stepped forward and pulled her newly resurrected Mother-in-law into a bone crushing hug. "It's an honor to finally meet you… well meet you in the present that is… Not that meeting you in the 70s wasn't great… I uh… just supposed that the angels wiped us from your memory… but wow… this is so amazing! I feel like I've known you my whole life… well I've looked up to you for so long… I mean you're probably more my mom than my actual mom…"

"Sarah…" Dean said, putting his hand on her shoulder, to get her to stop talking.

"Right. Shutting up now…" she said letting go of Mary's hand and stepping back then asked, "Wait. How is she back? How are you still here?"

"Yeah… so… wait, uh, where is Sam? He's not answering his phone, there's blood on the floor. What's going on?" Dean asked.

"I don't know. We came back here, there was a woman waiting for us. She blasted me and Sarah away. I don't know what happened to Sam." Cas explained.

"I don't understand. What happened?" Mary asked.

"Okay, well, the bunker's empty, so – so they've obviously left here. You said woman – not an angel, not a demon, a-a human." Dean asked.

"She was human." Cas replied.

"When did this go down?" Dean asked, as he walked over to one of the tables and grabbed his laptop.

"It was 2:12 a.m." Cas answered.

"Is that a-a computer?" Mary asked, surprised.

"Yes. I don't trust them." Cas replied to her as he glared at the computer.

Sarah followed Dean and placed her hand on his shoulder as she watched him work.

"Got something. An S.U.V. ran a red light a few blocks from here at 2:21 a.m. And there wasn't another car for 40 minutes." Dean said as he checked the traffic cameras nearby.

"How did you do that?" Mary asked.

"I hacked the traffic cams. Welcome to the future." Dean replied with a smile.

"You think it's them?" Cas asked.

"It's worth a shot." Sarah said, grabbing the laptop from Dean. "Alright, I'll do a search on the license plate while you tell us what happened with the darkness."

"So the guy's name is Jamie Ross. He owns the SUV." Sarah said as they got out of the car at a large garage and walked in through the open door.

"Jamie Ross?" Cas asked the man that was working on one of the SUV's.

"Who's asking?" he asked, setting down what he was working on and starting to clean off his hands on a rag.

Cas stepped forward before asking, "The blond woman that you drove yesterday, what was her name?"

"Blonde? Sorry, mate, you got the wrong…" he replied but was cut off by Cas headbutting him… twice.

"Cas!" Dean called out.

"That's an angel?" Mary asked, bewildered.

"That's an angel being nice." Sarah replied with a chuckle.

"Blonde. Name. Now." Cas commanded.

"I-I-I don't know her name." Jamie Ross stammered.

"What do you know?" Cas asked.

After getting what they could out of the SUV driver, they set up shop at a small outdoor café that was across the street from the Veterinarian that the SUV driver had driven the blond woman. Currently Sarah and Cas were getting coffee for everyone while Dean checked into the flight plan for the plane the woman flew in on and Mary sat at a table, taking in how different everything was.

"This must be difficult for you. I remember my first moments on Earth. It was jarring." Cas said, after he had handed a coffee over to Mary.

"One word for it. I grew up with Hunters. I've heard of people coming back from the dead before. But to actually do it... after 30 years. A lot's changed." Mary replied, looking around at the other people who were staring at their phones. "A lot."

"Yeah, I remember how it was in the late 70s. A lot of what we have now was like science fiction back then." Sarah commented.

"You said that before… about the 70s… what do you mean about that?" Mary asked, confused.

"I… uh… well that might be a talk for another day…" Sarah stammered, not sure what to say.

"Find anything?" Cas asked, as Dean joined them.

"Yeah, ran the, uh, tail number that what's-his-face gave us. The plane that Evil Elsa flew in on has diplomatic registry."

"Which means?" Mary asked.

"Which means its flight plans are sealed unless you want to hack the State Department." Dean explained.

"Who are these people?" Mary asked, getting frustrated.

"Dean." Cas said, nodding toward the Veterinarian office as a truck drove up to it.

They quickly made their way over to the Vet's office to see him unloading supplies from his truck. Dean quietly crept up behind him and pressed his gun to the Vet's neck. "Dr. Marion, how about you let us in?"

The Vet held up his hands and let Dean lead him inside his office without making a sound. Once inside they found out that the black SUV had pulled up early that morning and the woman had requested that he stitch up a gunshot wound on Sam's leg.

"So, you dug the bullet out of his leg, no questions asked?" Sarah asked.

"She offered me 100 grand." He replied.

"And you took it?" Mary asked, surprised.

"Student loans were a bitch, okay?"

Cas angrily takes a few steps forward but Dean grabbed his arm, "Cass! Cass! Cass! Don't hurt him. Not yet."

"All right, look, she didn't give me her name. When we were done, the driver bailed, I got paid, and then some other chick shows up, and they all drive away."

"And that's everything you know?" Mary asked, watching him carefully.

"Yeah. Totally." He replied.

"Hurt him." Mary said simply.

Cas stepped forward again, this time grabbing the Vet's by his collar.

"Oh, oh, aah! I have her phone number! Okay? Okay, look, look, look. Look, I don't know where they are, but she called me a couple hours ago – a few hours ago, asking about the sedative I gave the guy. So... I've got her phone number." He stuttered.

Sarah rushed over and punched him in the face before searching him for his cell phone. "You are going to call her now."

"A…an… and say what?" he asked, holding his nose in pain.

"Okay, easy Sarah." Dean said, pulling Sarah away and taking the phone from her and turning to the scared, bleeding Vet. "Call her."

He took the phone from Dean and unlocked it, calling the number that had called him earlier.

"Dr. Marion." The woman said, answering after a couple of rings.

"Yeah, I'm just calling, you know, to, uh, check on the patient." He said nervously.

"Is everything all right, doctor?"

"Yeah, yeah, sure. Definitely."

"I'm hanging up now."

"Uh…" Dr. Marion mumbled, looking up at Dean for what to do.

Dean quickly grabbed the phone and growled, "Listen, bitch. I don't care who you are, I don't care what you want. You have my brother."

"Dean Winchester. I heard you were dead."

"Well, you heard wrong. Now, I'm gonna give you one chance – just one – to hand Sam back."

"Sorry. Not possible."

"Oh, you think you can run from me? Try it. Because when I find you – and I will find you – if he is not in one piece, I will take you apart. You understand me?" Dean growled, barely containing his anger. When she hung up on him, he snapped the phone in half.

After a moment, Sarah walked over to him and laid her hand on his shoulder before taking he broken phone from his hand. She then walked over to Dr. Marion and tossed the phone back at him.

"You need to think about your choices, asshole." Sarah growled at him before grabbing his shirt and pulling him close. "Just know that if our brother dies, I will be back. And trust me when I say that your death will not be quick but slow and painful. Understand?"

He nodded quickly with a shocked look on his face. "Yes, Ma'am…"

"Good." She replied, before letting him go and turning to walk away but swung back and punched him in the face sending him back into his desk. "Alright, let's go."

Mary's eyes widened at Sarah's actions and silently followed the others outside and back into the impala.

"So what now?" Mary asked, once they were back on the road.

"Well, we got her number. Let's head back to the bunker, and we'll put a trace on it." Dean replied just before another vehicle hit them. The car skid as Dean tried to get it under control. Mary's head slammed against the window as Sarah crashed into Cas in the backseat. As soon as Dean got the car to stop he reached over to his mother to see that she was passed out.

"Mom?" Dean called out.

Castiel leaned forward and checked Mary. "She's unconscious, but there's no serious damage."

"All right. Help her." Dean said, getting out to see what had happened.

"Go Cas. I'll take care of her." Sarah said, sliding toward Cas so she was closer to Mary.

Once Cas got out, Sarah followed and opened the front door and knelt next to Mary. She set her upright and examined the cut on Mary's forehead before trying to concentrate on healing her.

"Dean Winchester, I presume." A woman stated, coming around the car that had hit them.

"You should be more careful with your location services on your phone." She replied, with her hands behind her back.

"Are you one of them?" he asked.

"I'm one of them."

"Yeah." Dean mumbled before walking towards her and grabbing her by her collar. "You tell me where my brother is, and I might take it easy on you."

"Oh, please don't." she replied, before breaking out of his hold and punching him.

They traded a few blows before Cas jumped in but the woman was able to knock both of them to the ground a few times. Dean got up and reached for his gun but found that it was missing.

"Looking for this? So, round two? Anyone?" the woman said, placing his gun on the trunk of the impala.

As soon as Sarah felt that Mary's concussion was healed, she stood up and faced their attacker.

"Well, well, well, what do we have here?" she said, taking a look at Sarah. "You ready to join the fight princess?"

"Who are you?" Sarah asked, stepping closer.

"Names Watts. And you must be Mrs. Winchester. Pleasure to meet you." She then kicked the angel blade out of Cas' hand. "Tell me you are as good as your stories."

"Only one way to find out." Sarah replied, before charging the woman. She managed to block Sarah's first few punches but was surprised when Sarah kicked her in the chest. The woman stumbled back and gave Sarah a smirk.

"Cheeky." She said, before throwing a few punches at Sarah. The first couple of punches Sarah managed to block but the woman managed to land one to Sarah's jaw and then another to her temple, knocking Sarah to the ground.

"You know, I would've thought for two strapping lads like yourselves," she said, grabbing the gun off the trunk of the impala and cocked it, "and such a fierce woman would've lasted a tad longer. But hey, you know what they say. Good things come to those…"

The tip of an angel blade was suddenly sticking out of her chest. She reflexively pulled the trigger of the gun twice, nearly missing Dean both times before her body fell to the ground to reveal Mary standing with a bloody angel blade in her hands.

"Thanks, Mom." Dean said.

After a few moments, they got to work. Sarah check over Watts body and found that she had been using Enochian brass knuckles.

"No wonder her punches were so powerful." She muttered, pocketing them. "Alright, she's all yours."

Dean and Cas picked her body up and tossed into her car then pushed it off the road. Cas started to place branches to cover it up while Dean approached Sarah.

"She got you good, didn't she?" he said brushing his knuckle against the bruise that was forming on her jaw.

"Yeah, well she cheated." Sarah replied, before holding up Ms. Watt's phone. "Got a location. You think your mom can do another road trip?"

Dean looked the phone then over at Mary as she sat staring at the ground.

"Give me a minute." He replied, handing the phone back before walking over to Mary.

Sarah nodded then went to help Cas cover the Ms. Watts car.

"Sarah found her cellphone in the car. Last call was made from Aldrich, Missouri." Dean said, as he knelt down in front of his mother. "We're guessing Sam's probably around there."

"Good. That's great." Mary replied, still staring off into space.

"You okay?" he asked, placing his hand on her hand.

Mary shook her head. "No. I'm sorry. I just… I spent my life running from this, from hunting. And I got out. I never wanted this for you and Sam."

"Mom, I… I get it. I do. I don't want this for kid… but Sam and me… even Sarah… saving people and hunting things, this is our life. I think we make the world a better place. I know that we do."

She looked up at his as he spoke to see how serious he was.

"Alright, I'll get the others, so we can go." He added, giving her hand a squeeze before getting up and walking to where Sarah and Cas were waiting.

"Cas, I'm gonna need you to take point on this." Dean said, gruffly.

"Of course." Cas replied the same moment Sarah asked, "Why?"

"I just think I should get her back to the bunker. Give her a little time to adjust." He explained. "Just check things out. Find where they are keeping Sam. Sarah and I will join you then. You alright with that?"

"Yes."

"Good." Dean sighed.

When the four of them arrived back at the bunker, Cas made his way toward his stolen truck as Dean started to lead Mary into the bunker.

"I'll let you know when we find Sam." Sarah said, opening the trunk and grabbing a few things that she tossed in her bag.

Both Dean and Cas stopped to look back at her.

"Uh… what?" Dean asked, walking back toward her confused.

"I'll let you know what Cas and I find." She repeated, closing the trunk.

"Oh…"

Sarah looked over at him and could see by the look on his face how torn he was about this. He wanted her with him and Mary, probably to help be a buffer since having her back was still so new. But he also wanted Sam back as quickly as possible.

Sighing, Sarah closed the distance and placed her hand on his cheek. "I have to find Sam. He was taken on my watch."

"It's not your fault."

"He was my responsibility." She said, letting her hand drop from his cheek to rest on his chest. "If I had just walked inside when he did and not had a mini break down outside, I would have been there next to him. I could have done something. Instead I was blown to high heaven when I walked in. Useless."

"Hey. You are not useless." He replied, cupping her face with both of his hands and lifting it enough so she was looking at him. "This was not your fault."

"I will find him." She stated, pulling away from him. But he caught her arm and pulled her back, crushing his lips against hers.

"I know you will." He said, placing his forehead against hers. "You are the best after all."

Smiling slightly, she added, "Damn straight I am."

And with one more quick kiss, Sarah grabbed her bag and headed off with Cas while Dean watched.

"So… Sarah… have you found anything useful?" Cas asked nervously as he walked back into their motel room where Sarah was working on her computer.

"If I'd found something, don't you think I would have said?" she commented without looking up at him. "I take it you didn't find anything either."

"Uh… no… the abandoned buildings and warehouses are all empty. Dean suggested checking the real estate offices." Cas replied, taking a seat across from her at the table and sliding a cup over toward her.

"What is that?" she asked, looking at the large cup confused.

"A venti white mocha."

"And why do you have it?"

"Dean suggested it as a peace offering." Cas stated bluntly.

"Right." Sarah mumbled with an eye roll. "You know it's going to take more than a coffee to make things right between us, right?"

"Right. Of course." He replied quickly.

Sighing, Sarah looked back at her computer screen. "Dean was right about one thing though. The real estate angle is a good one. So good I've already thought of it and have a few places to check out." She grabbed a list she had been compiling and ripped it in half. "You can check out these places and I'll check the others. Sound good?"

"Are you sure? Shouldn't we stay together?"

"It'll be faster if we split up." She stated before grabbing her bag and heading out the door.

Dean sat at the table in the war room with his laptop in front of him when Mary walked in.

"Hey, how'd you sleep?" He asked.

"I had dreams all night." Mary said taking a seat across from him.

"Good dreams?"

"Stuff I'd forgotten about. Funny stuff your dad did. He was a great father." Mary reminisced with a soft smile.

Dean nodded, looking down a little, not wanting to ruin Mary's image of his father, when his phone began to ring.

"Hey, Cas, what do you got?" He asked.

"I think I may have found Sam's location. Well technically Sarah did. It's a farm. It appears empty, but it was rented two weeks ago to a woman with an English accent."

"Did you two have a look inside?"

"No No, it's – it's powerfully warded." Cas stated.

"Powerfully warded? Okay, see, buddy, that – that was your headline right there." Dean replied sarcastically.

After a pause, Cas asked, "Are we still discussing the same thing?"

"Where are you?" Dean sighed.

"I'll text you the address."

"Okay, got it." Dean said, before asking, "Hey is Sarah around? She hasn't been answering my calls."

"No. We split up to check the real estate listings and I haven't seen her since. Well her car is here so I imagine she is nearby, but she hasn't answered my calls so she's probably still mad at me."

"Dammit. Okay I'm on my way." Dean grumbled hanging up.

"I'll get my coat." Mary said, standing up.

"Wait. Uh Okay. Why don't I take this one solo, okay? We just – we don't know what we're walking into here. And Sarah's gone awol."

"We never know. We're Hunters." Mary retorted.

"Right. Um... Okay, I-I can't do my job if I'm worried about you."

"Dean. You won't have to be. I can handle myself. Okay? All right, good talk." Mary replied, leaving the room before he could say anymore.

"Oh, boy." Dean sighed.

Sarah leaned heavily against Cas' truck as Dean's impala pulled into view.

"Where the hell have you been?" Dean asked as soon as he was out of the impala. "Something wrong you can't answer the phone?"

Sarah tossed him her busted phone while still leaning heavily against the truck. "Wardings strong and it made me so dizzy I bumped my head on a nearby branch when I was scoping the place out and well… down I went until Cas found me."

Dean strode over and looked her over as he cupped her cheek with his hand.

"The warding is cloaked. But like Sarah said it's very powerful." Cas said, before asking, "You brought your mother?"

"Hello, Castiel. Yes, he did." Mary spoke up.

"You sure there's anyone inside?" Dean asked.

"No. The agent said the lease was handled long distance, but someone warded the house." Cas replied.

"Alright, I'm gonna go have a closer look." Dean said before he started walking toward the house but stopped when he realized that Mary was following him. "Mom, I got this."

"You can keep me from driving, Dean. Not from hunting." She replied.

Dean shook his head then looked over to Cas for help.

"Sarah and I are locked out by the warding. We could use the company." Cas jumped in even as Sarah shook her head.

"Thanks." Dean said before continuing over toward the house.

They watched him disappear and Sarah was still shaking her head. "Geez, he must be getting soft. He'd have handcuffed me to the truck."

Mary looked over at Sarah confused, "He's done that?"

"Oh yeah. He's a total control freak." Sarah said with a laugh. "But then I guess I am too. I don't know if it's the warding or if it's not tearing ass through that place looking for Sam but it feels like I'm gonna explode."

"Wait, why can't you go in if its warded?" Mary asked.

Sarah looked back down at the ground. "Well, I'm a wee bit different than everyone else…"

"Different? Different how?" Mary asked, cautiously.

"Just different." Sarah snipped.

They were quiet for a few moments before Mary said, "So Dean said he's known you for a long time… Did you two meet on a hunt?"

"Sort of… actually it was right after one of Johns hunts." Sarah replied, then saw the slight confusion on Mary's face. "Dean would only help John on some hunts back then so I didn't meet him until after John saved my life."

"He saved you?"

"He did more than that." Sarah said, "He gave me a family after mine was taken. He introduced me to the most aggravating man on the planet that just so happens to be the love of my life. And although we were both stubborn and it took us over 10 years to admit it and like another 10 years of on again off again before we finally got it right."

Mary let that soak in for a moment then asked, "Wait… how old were you when you met?"

"I was 13 and Dean was 15."

"So when you say John gave you a family… you mean…"

"I mean that John took me in after my parents were killed."

"Oh…"

"Yeah…" Sarah sighed, wiping a tear away from her eye before straightening up and adding, "Dean's been gone a while."

Sarah and Mary shared a look before Sarah said, "If you see anything on the walls that look like symbols, they are most likely sigils. Here's my knife, use it to destroy them. If you get the right ones, Cas and I can come help."

Mary nodded, and turned to leave but Sarah called out as she grabbed Mary's arm, "Hey Mary?" When Mary turned back to look at Sarah, she added, "Bring our boys back."

Mary placed her hand on Sarahs and squeezed it as she said, "Of course." Then she stalked off toward the farm.

Cas straightened up from his spot when Mary walked away. "Dean's not going to like this."

"I think he'll forgive me when she saves him." Sarah retorted.

They waited for a while more as Sarah grew more and more nervous. She was about to try and force herself through the warding when a black SUV pulled up next to them. Sarah and Cas instantly grabbed their weapons and watched as a man got out and crossed the front of his SUV with his hands up.

"Woah. I come in peace." He said, with a British accent.

"Yeah, I bet. Is that why that blond woman has my family right now?" Sarah retorted.

"That is precisely why I am here. Lady Bevell has gone a bit off book." He replied, lowering his hands as Sarah and Cas shared a look. "Look, let's start fresh. I am Mick Davies, from the Men of Letters British branch."

"What no title?" Sarah asked.

He smiled slightly. "No, unfortunately. And you must be Sarah Winchester and the angel Castiel."

"How do you know who we are?" Cas asked, taking a step closer.

"Well we've been keeping tabs on what has been happening over here in America for quite some time. There's not much we don't know."

"Oh yeah?" Sarah shot back.

"Sarah Winchester, formerly Sarah Reynolds although there was no official name change or marriage certificate. Born January 26, 1981 to a Malcolm and Kaylee Reynolds which tragically died in 1994 when demons tried to abduct their daughter. That was when she went to live with John Winchester and his two sons, Dean and Sam. Should I go on?"

Sarah cocked her gun in response. "You're not helping things here."

"Look I am just trying to clear up this mess with Toni, it was never our intention for any of this to happen."

"So, you're just here to help. Right."

"Shall I go deactivate the warding? Then we can all continue this conversation inside with the others." He replied, before walking away, completely ignoring the fact that she was still aiming her gun at him.

Sarah and Cas stared in shock for a moment before following him as far as they could then watched as he held up an object he'd pulled out of his jacket. After a moment a bright light flashed from the object and the warding was gone.

"Woah." Sarah mumbled before she followed Mick into the house with Cas close behind her.

"Right well, I suspect they should be this way. Follow me." Mick said as he led them through the house to the kitchen and what appeared to be the basement.

"Dean!" Sarah heard Sam yell from down in the basement.

"Open it!" Sarah commanded Mick.

He quickly opened the door and they made their way down a few stairs to see what was happening.

"Turns out this ape did read a book or two." Dean mumbled as he made his way to Sam.

"Well played." Mick said, alerting Dean, Sam and Mary.

Sarah pushed past Mick and rushed over to Dean and Sam. "Oh Sam! I'm so sorry!" She looked him over and took in how awful he looked. "I'll murder the bitch! Where is she?" She growled as she started scanning the room.

"Woah, easy Sarah. I took care of it." Dean assured, grabbing her arm before she could go past him. "Who is that?"

"Oh, that was fantastic. Thank you, Mom." Dean sighed happily as he dropped the picked clean chicken bone onto his plate.

"All I did was point at some stuff on a take-out menu. I would've cooked, but I, uh...don't." Mary said as she walked back into the room and placed a store-bought pie on the table.

"Well, now, wait. Your meat loaf was amazing." Dean replied, confused.

"Came from the Piggly Wiggly. Sorry to burst your bubble." She said as she tapped his arm. "But do you still like pie?"

"I mean..." he laughed with a sheepish smile before grabbing the pie.

Mary smiled at Dean's continued love of pie before looking over at Sam. "Sam. You keep looking at me like I'm going to explode."

Sam chuckled before mumbling, "I'm sorry."

Dean happily dished out a big piece of pie for himself. "Oh."

"But what do we think? Are we buying that Brit's whole 'Let's be friends' routine?" Mary asked.

"No. No way." Sam replied, firmly.

"No. Mmm." Dean said with a mouthful of pie.

"Could you eat that any faster?" Mary asked, through a laugh.

"No. No, I cannot." Dean replied, with an even bigger mouthful of pie.

Mary smiled at her son before saying, "Well, we should call the Internet and find out as much as we can about these people. Did I say that right?"

"So close." Dean said with a smirk.

"Yeah, it was close." Sam added.

"You want any?" Dean asked Sam, through another mouthful.

"No. Uh, not now." Sam replied with a slightly disgusted look.

Dean just shook his head as he continued to eat.

"Well I hope you saved me some." Sarah said from the upstairs landing.

"Hey Baby! Mom made pie!" Dean said so happily as Sarah started down the stairs.

"Well I bought pie." Mary corrected.

"After the last few months I'm just happy to eat something without the weight of my world on my shoulders." Sarah said approaching the table. "And it's so good to have all my boys together."

"Hey Buddy!" Dean said, reaching for his son.

"Sorry we're late, Linda wouldn't let me leave without a detailed explanation of what all happened." Sarah explained as she handed her son over before snagging his fork and taking a bite of his pie.

She turned to thank Mary for the pie when she saw the startled look on her face. "Dean please tell me you told your mother about our son."

"Hmmm?" he mumbled as he made silly faces at Robbie making him laugh.

Sarah hit the back of his head.

"Ow! What was that for?" he grumbled, his hand flying to the back of his head where she'd hit him. She tilted her head toward Mary and he looked over to see his mother staring at him with wide eyes. Straightening up he turned Robbie in his arms so that she could see his face. "Mom, I'd uh like you to meet my son, Robert Jonathan Winchester. Robbie, say hi to your… grandma."
