Adam POV

"Wait, WHAT?!" I replied.

"I know that you are cheating on her with Echo," he accuses. How did he figure this out? Did Echo tell him? Does she want to go public?

"I saw your scrapbook and Echo said that she would talk to afterwards. Since then, you guys have acted weird, stolen glances, and have had way too many study dates at your house," he explains.

"Okay... so maybe all of that is true, but it doesn't mean I'm cheating on Chelsea," I respond.

"Come on man, if you really want to end up with Echo, don't you want to do it out in the open and not secretly," he said.

"I guess you're right," I said, "Hey, when did you get all insightful."

"When you left me on my own to fend for myself," he declared. Then Derby left. I didn't realize that I was neglecting him so much. Maybe we should hang out on Friday.

After school, I headed to Echo's house to help her study but also to talk about our relationship. Once we finished, she tried to kiss me, but I had to resist kissing her.

"What's wrong," she asked.

"Look, I can't keep lying to Chelsea. Soon someone is going to figure out. Plus, I don't like sneaking around. I want to take you to dates at the movies and on rides in the carnival and on picnics in the park. I can never do that with you if we are always sneaking around," I announce to Echo.

"Adam, I can't just break Michael's heart again. He's already caught us once. Plus, what would my family say," she wines.

"You're breaking my heart by just being with him. Also, I thought you didn't care what your family, especially your father, says. Remember a couple of days ago when you said you wanted to make out on your dad's bed and I said no way; what if we get caught. Then you said you don't care what your dad says and you've always wanted to do this with someone special. You also said it would be super hot, but that's not the point. I thought I was someone special, but it turns out that I was just the closest thing to a boy your dad would disapprove, which made you 'like' me more," I expressed.

"Oh, Adam. I never knew that's how you felt. Of course, I think you're special. You're the kindest most thoughtful guy I know. Yeah, I love to disobey my father, but I don't want you to lose your job over me. Michael is nothing like you. He's not caring or sweet with me. He just wants to make out at the movies and pretty much everywhere else. I don't love him and I don't love you because love is too strong a word to use, but I do love your quirks and personality. I like you more and if you have to break up with Chelsea, then do it, but make it gentle. We still have to sneak around Mr. Tater, my dad, Chelsea, and Michael, but maybe this can work," I declare.

Then we kissed each other goodnight and I headed home.

Derby POV:

I hope those two lovebirds made up. Then maybe I can make my move on Chelsea. She deserves someone way better than Adam. He's such a douche for dating her and then cheating on her. He knows I've had a crush on her forever and then he goes and does this. She deserves so much better than him.

A/N: I'm back. Not for long though, I have to leave for Korea next week, but until then I'll try to update constantly. Who saw Derby's crush on Chelsea coming? Plus, how are the breakups going to go. Find out on the next How We Fell In Love.
