Gord Vendome swung a small shopping bag in his hands as he made his
way along the sidewalks of Old Bullworth Vale. He breathed in the
crisp air, nose twitching at the slight amount of water dripping from
the sky. He didn't mind it, though, as his clothes wouldn't get too wet.
He paused his enjoyment of the weather to scowl darkly at a hobo on
the street corner, even going so far as to insult it before he
continued along.
The brunette checked his watch for the time and, seeing as he had a
while yet before a Harrington House meeting, he swerved along more
sidewalks instead of going back to the dorm.
He adjusted his hold on his bags and wiped at his eyes and nose. The
rain was picking up again. He cursed himself silently and made a sharp
U-turn towards the school again.
When his shoulder brushed against a commoner's, he turned back to
threateningly glare at them. Gord picked up his pace as the water fell
harder on his face, and soon he was sprinting.
By the time he arrived at the gates he was huffing and puffing. At
least the rain had returned to it's very slight sprinkling, he told
himself. He continued on normally through campus, stopping by his dorm
room to drop off his shopping bags.
He trotted over to the Harrington House, the rain almost clearing up.
He smiled to Parker when he got there, and noticing his friend's
finger pointed upwards he looked into the sky.
That was...
"A RAINBOW!" Gord screeched suddenly, dropping to his knees and
staring up at the multicolored curve in the sky. "IT'S SO BEAUTIFUL!"
"Uh, calm down Gord," Parker tried, only to have his stomach punched
when the brunette yanked his fists in the air.
Gord made such a deep gasp that he choked, his arms flailing around as
he coughed and spluttered. He pointed again to the skies when he
caught his breath.
"DOUBLE RAINBOW! OH. MY. GOD." By then, tears had found their way
into the brunette's eyes and they dripped on to his cheeks. "WHAT DOES
IT MEAN?"
Parker looked on idly. His mouth was curved slightly downwards as his
friend continued to wail at the skies.
A crowd eventually formed around Gord as he cried at the rainbow's
beauty. One of the people that had gathered was Derby.
He pushed through the others, most of which were commoners (causing
him to wipe himself off on Bif). He stomped over to Gord and hovered
over him. He didn't want to resort to physical contact quite yet.
Besides, he'd have Bif do that for him.
"Gord," he demanded. "What the hell are you doing?"
The brunette just pointed into the sky as he dried his tears, only for
him to begin weeping again. The blonde looked upwards at the double
rainbow. He shook his head slowly.
"Gord, get up."
Gord didn't listen. He just sat there and rubbed his cheeks and
sniffled and whined loudly. The beautiful rainbow was beginning to
fade away.
"Gord," Derby seethed again. "Get up. You have an audience, you know."
Gord continued to cry and ignore the taller's commands. Derby turned
to Bif and his trusty sidekick companion nodded. Bif reached forward
and grabbed Gord by the collar, tucking him under his arm. He followed
Derby back into the Harrington House.
Inside, the redhead set Gord down on the sofa. The brunette lie down
and cry, soon muttering something or the other. He got louder until he
was wailing "what if your dad was made of rainbows?"
Derby shook his head after a while of watching him and left to do
important rich person things. Gord was left alone to wonder what it
would be like if his daddy was made if rainbows.
