Well, it's been a while, huh? I'm sorry for the lack of updates, I've been dealing with a lot home-wise, and a suicidal friend. I will update as often as I can.
No-one's P.O.V.
Roughly a week had passed since Near had begun to date Matt, it seemed. Everyone had been surprised when the redhead had started to hang around the antisocial albino - holding his hand, kissing his cheek, hugging him.. It seemed he was always touching Near in one way or another. And no-one had missed a certain blonde's reaction to this change. Ever since that day in class, when they were first seen together, Mello had become more withdrawn and quiet, his gaze always on his best friend and his rival. He couldn't wrap his head around it, Matt had never mentioned feeling that way about Near, and he was under the impression that Near liked HIM, considering what they had done together.
It hadn't taken Mello long to realize what was going on. Clearly, his friend had taken pity on the sheep and was doing this in an attempt to make him feel better, or to give him a feeling of what friendship was. There was no way in hell that Matt actually felt that way about Near, surely. So, he decided he would confront them and clear this whole thing up. It wouldn't be difficult, he'd tell them he wasn't stupid, that Matt was only doing this to pity the stupid sheep. He'd tell Near to get over himself and his stupid crush, and Matt would laugh and join him.
And so, he was now stood outside the albino's bedroom door, bar of chocolate in hand as he rapped against the wood with his free hand.
"Oi, Sheepy! I'm coming in, we need to fucking talk." He called out, his hand moving to the handle. He was about to open the door before he heard a muffled noise that sounded like a gasp. He paused for a moment before throwing the door open, his gaze falling to the albino's bed. And that's when he froze, eyes wide in shock. He dropped the chocolate bar in his hand, and two pairs of eyes watched it fall before looking back up at the blonde's expression.
The redhead was sat on the bed, his back leaning against the wall and his goggles on the sheets beside him. Near was sat in his lap, his arms loosely around Matt's shoulders with his face flushed, and his lips swollen. He stared up at Mello, his expression as blank as he could keep it considering the situation. Matt looked up at the blonde as well, his head tilted slightly to the side as he spoke, his voice a little breathless. "Uh, hi Mels... Can you close the door? Kinda in the middle of something here."
The blonde in question couldn't move, rooted to the spot as his breathing quickened. His hands curled into fists as he took in the sight of the two on Near's bed, his mind whirring with anger and jealousy. His eyes were fixed on Near, unable to look away from the grey gaze that met his own. After a moment, something clicked in Mello's head and he felt a small smile tug at his lips. He spoke softly, his voice slightly uneven as he turned to face the doorway. "I see. That's how you want to play this, huh Near.. Fine. Well, excuse my interruption." His voice broke slightly at the last part, and he stormed out, slamming the door shut behind him before quickly heading back to his own room.
