Title: Overprotective Dragons

Disclaimer: I wish I owned it.*sigh* On with the story!

A/N: So, I finally fixed up this chapter and god it feels good. At least I don't feel like cringing anymore when I read it. It's nothing really big, just has a better flow and such.

Wendy skipped into the guild cheerfully, humming and smiling as she slid into the seats next to Erza and Lucy before greeting them. Sharing a look at her strangely chipper behaviour, Lucy and Erza scooted a little closer and the blonde leaned in a bit.

"So, Wendy," she began as she glanced at Erza from the corner of her eye, "you seem very happy this morning. Anything new happen?"

Wendy blushed and nodded, a small smile gracing her lips as she fidgeted with the hem of her dress. "Actually, I was just going to tell you guys. You see, Romeo asked me out on a date! He's taking me somewhere in a few hours!"

Lucy squealed at this and her eyes sparkled as she practically jumped in her seat excitedly, Erza frozen like a block of ice next to her.

"He finally asked you out?!"

Wendy nodded as she giggled, swinging her legs back and forth in her excitement as she replied. "Yup! I can't wait," she confessed embarrassedly, causing Lucy to laugh.

At the sound of laughter and chatter, Natsu perked up and lifted his head from the table to look at a blushing Wendy and giggling Lucy, a strangely still Erza staring at Wendy in shock. Feeling a grin come upon his face, he hopped off his chair and was about to sneak up on the girls for entertainment when he heard something that had him reeling.

"So, do you have anything special planned for your date?"

Natsu froze, panic and anger filling him at the sentence, his thought flying around in his head like a tornado.

Wendy's going on a date.

Wendy's going on a date.

Cursing onbscenely in his head, he tried to figure out who could have asked her out, mentally going through a list of the unworthy and disgusting boys he'd made sure would go nowhere near her along with Laxus and Gajeel. He'd thought they'd made sure none of those stupid boys would get within twenty feet of her, much less ask her on a date!

Unless...it was someone they didn't know of.

So deep in thought, he didn't notice that he'd been walking, accidentally bumping shoulders with Gajeel.

"What the hell, bastard?! Watch where you're going," Gajeel growled, dusting his shoulder off and throwing a glare at Natsu.

Shaken out of his thoughts, Natsu's eyes narrowed and he grabbed Gajeel's arm, dragging him out of the guild before he could get a word out.

"We need to find Laxus," he bit out, tightening his hold on Gajeel when he tried to say something. "Now."

Laxus tapped his foot against the ground irritatedly as he waited for Natsu to say something, leaning against the wall of a restaurant he'd been eating in when they'd found him.

"Well, brat," he said through gritted teeth as silence reigned. "Are you going to tell us what you made us come out for because is this is another challenge I swear to god-"

Natsu finally looked up at the other two Dragon Slayers and Laxus was cut off when he saw the dark look on Natsu's face, instantly realizing this was serious and grimacing. Huffing, he waited once more.

"Wendy's got a date," Natsu said, his words seeming to echo around the three Dragon Slayers. Both Gajeel and Laxus froze, turning to look at him mechanically as he scowled at his own words.

I love this picture, just wish it had Laxus, you know? Please review! Otherwise I'll tell Erza you were the one who ate her cake!

It's kind of funny how I fixed the chapter up near my birthday and the original day this was written.
