Greer cried out painfully as she was forcefully flung into a dingy cell... This was not part of the plan... Quickly getting back up on her feet she was thrown back when Moss activated the electrical bars.
"Let the two ferals slug it out..." he laughed before trudging off. Sniffing to ensure he was out of hearing range, Greer got back onto two feet and reached behind her long hair and heaved a sigh of relief... Her communicator was still intact...
"Kurt..." she whispered.
"Kurt can you hear me?" she whispered again, wincing at the static.
Suddenly, Greer tensed up, her senses flooded with warning. Growling, she spun around only to have someone fly wildly at her.
Ducking, she caught the figure by the arm and slammed her onto the ground. Greer blinked. Her attacker was a girl... A teenage girl... No older than sixteen... Seventeen at most...
Quickly, Greer released her grip on the girl only to duck another wild punch.
"Wait...I only want to talk to you..." Greer protested.
"Die!" came the girl's enraged yell. Greer watched in surprise as five claws extended from the girl's fingertips... Where her nails should have been...They looked familiar... Exactly like...
"Adamantium..." Greer whispered before realizing how much trouble she was in... The scars she had received from Laura were proof enough.
"Ok... I need you to calm down... CALM DOWN!" Greer demanded as the girl made another lunge for her throat. Backing away into a corner where the girl could see her, Greer raised up her arms as a sign of peace. To show she didn't mean this girl any harm. She heaved a mental sigh of relief when the girl's eyes narrowed before her claws retreated back into her fingers...
"Who are you?" the girl hissed before approaching Greer cautiously her pretty Asian features still contorted with suspicion.
"An X men... I'm here to help you..." Greer reassured. The girl burst into laughter before releasing her claws just centimeters away from Greer's neck.
"Right... You're so much help when we're behind bars... What are you really up to?"
"Would you calm down?" Greer growled baring her fangs and swatting the girl's hand away surprising her for a moment.
"Like I said I'm here to help you kid... So unless you want to stay here, you're going to calm down and cooperate with me..." she growled before showing her own claws as a warning.
The girl's brown eyes flashed with fury before she stuck out her tongue.
"Yeah whatever..." she mumbled before sitting down, whipping her matted hair out of her face.
Greer rolled her eyes and tried once again to reach Kurt.
"KURT! WE HAVE A COMMUNICATOR FOR A REASON!" she hissed. There was a bit of static before Kurt's voice finally came through.
"Sorry... Sorry ve ran into trouble... Vhere are you?"
"In a cell..."
"That's great Tigra... There are... vhat? A thousand cells in here? How do you expect me to find you?"
"We're in cell block D the lowest level... Solitary confinement..." came the girl's voice.
"Who was that?"
"A new friend... Now come on elf... You heard her..."
"Ja ja I'm coming ..." and Greer heard the ever so familiar "bmf!"
"So... You have a name?" Greer asked trying to sound friendly.
The girl looked up, cautiously at first... but her glare eventually softened.
"Are you really part of the x men? Like THE x men."
Greer rubbed her head...
"Yeah..."
" So you know the Kuzuri..."
Greer blinked in surprise... The name Kuzuri didn't ring any bells.
"I'm sorry... Kuzuri?"
The girl rolled her eyes as if the Kuzuri... whatever it was... was the most obvious thing in the world...
"Kuzuri... You know... The Wolverine..."
Greer slapped her forehead...
"Kuzuri... Japanese for wolverine... Right..." she thought.
"Yes I know Logan... He's like a father to me... I'm Greer by the way..." she said with a grin, extending her hand.
The girl looked at Greer strangely before smiling and shaking it.
"Ayame... Ayame Oyama"
Before the two girls could interact more, there was a loud "Bmf!" and a disheveled Kurt appeared before them.
"Finally!" he declared before holding his hands up in panic as Ayame stuck a clawed hand under his throat.
"Greer..." Kurt said uncertainly.
"Wooah wooah... Feisty pants... Relax...It's just Kurt... He's an x men too... He's here to help us..." Greer reassured trying to get Ayame to lower her arm.
Ayame pursed her lips.
"Are you sure... He looks like a yokai to me..."
"He's no yokai... He's a friend..."
Kurt gave an uneasy grin.
"Please don't kill me..." he begged. Ayame raised an eyebrow before lowering her arm.
"Thank you..." Kurt mumbled before grabbing their shoulders.
"Now hold on!" he instructing before teleporting the three of them off...
The first thing Greer heard was a scream before her body made contact with the cold steel floor.
"Ouch..." she snarled at Kurt.
"Tigger get behind the wheel! NOW!" came Logan's enraged yell followed by the sound of his claws being unsheathed.
Ignoring her throbbing forehead, Greer stumbled to the front of the helicopters ignoring a terrified yelp from a blonde teenaged girl as she started up the damn machine. She grimaced as bullets came raining down on the front window.
"Hold on!" she commanded and with a violent jerk of the controls she forced the helicopter to take off at full speed.
There were screams of horror as the helicopter shot up into the air at break neck speed, not slowing down until Greer deemed it safe enough to... And that was when they were miles away from the MRD complex.
"That is NOT... how you fly a copter doll..." Jonathan drawled as he stumbled into the seat next to her... His fur taking an unhealthy shade of green...
"Its called improvisation Michaels..." and before he could say something else, she left her seat.
"Why don't you pilot for awhile... I believe you can do a much better job than me.." she cooed before making her way to the back of the helicopter.
"Hey Tigger..." came Logan's voice as she took a seat next to him.
"Logan for as long as I live, I never want to take on the MRD again..." Greer growled huffily, still sore from her fiasco with the soldiers...
" That's a pity, you did well today kid..." he gruffed, patting her heftily on the back.
Greer blinked in surprise, Logan wasn't one to give compliments... ever...
"Really... Thanks..."
"Never seen you so vicious though... You and your friend over there..." he pointed out before gesturing at Ayame who was chatting up a storm with a boy... Jay...
"Who is she?"
Greer grinned. "She's a big fan of yours... Called you the Kuzuri..."
Logan's eyes widened.
"Kuzuri..."
"Yeah she's Japanese, her name is Ayame... Ayame Oyama..."
Greer stiffened upon seeing Logan's face harden.
"Logan..."
"Give me a second Tigger."
Greer bit her lip as Logan made his way towards Ayame whose eyes lit up immediately upon seeing her childhood hero himself approach her.
"Kuzuri..."
Logan's eyes narrowed; like that name put a bad taste in his mouth.
"Kid... Where are you from." He growled harshly not really even acknowledging her.
Ayame's brown eyes hardened... a little...
"I was born in Tokyo... My parents and I moved here when I was five..."
"Your parents... Tell me about them..."
Ayame shrugged.
"Don't remember them. They died a month after we moved; I was pretty much locked up my whole life after that... I escaped from a facility a year ago but the MRD caught me months later... That's about it... the story of my life..."
"Kuzuri... How do you know that name?"
"What is this? An interrogation?!" Ayame yelled at Greer over Logan's shoulder.
"Answer me bub... or else..."
Ayame blew off a loose strand of hair...
"Fine fine... When I was younger and when my parents were still alive... They kept telling me stories of the Kuzuri... A fearsome but noble warrior who stood up for the weak..."
"How do you still remember these stories if your parents died?"
" In the facility I was held up they told similar stories... Except they called you by your English name... Its not hard to put two and two together you know... Kuzuri does mean Wolverine... You happy now?" she demanded angrily before glaring fiercely at Logan who did the same...
Finally, after minutes of uncomfortable silence, Logan gave Ayame a nod, and an awkward pat on the shoulder before sitting back down next to Greer.
"What was that all about?" Greer asked curiously noticing how tense Logan still was...
"Tigger... I need a favor." He growled avoiding the question...
"Ok... shoot..."
"I need you to keep an eye out on this Ayame Oyama..."
Greer raised an eyebrow...
"Why?"
"Just do it... She can mean trouble... A lot of trouble..." he growled back his eyes never leaving Ayame...
Ayame Oyama was created by a dear fried jorholic73 and boy do I have story arcs planned for her... See if you guys can put two and two together.
