Oh look I made another Dangan Ronpa thing.

I just watched You Can (Not) Redo and I have a lot of feelings and suddenly I just felt like writing some Komaeda introspection dayum

"Stop talking for a second. You're being noisy..."

He never really minded getting verbally abused by Hinata like this, and if he had to be honest, he actually kind of liked it. For what reasons? Not sure. He sighs, mentally laughing at himself. Maybe he was just masochistic... or maybe he liked the attention.

Liking attention. Now, that was something new.

"Cut that out. Stop staring. That's just... kind of creepy, okay?"

A glare was sent his way, and all Komaeda could do was smile and passively apologize for his actions. What was it about Hajime Hinata that caught his attention, anyway? On the outside, he appeared to be nothing more than an ordinary high school student with memory loss. What was it about him that made Komaeda want to stay and listen and absorb every insult thrown his way? (not that he really minded that) Was it how he always seemed to be thinking, trying to figure out puzzles or trying to somehow find a way to unlock that missing crevice in his memories regarding his own talents? Huh.. or maybe it was his hope.

Well, if it was hope that was something he liked about everyone on the island. How every single person seemed to have innumerable amounts of hope embedded into their souls.

So, what exactly made Hinata special?

"Hey..."

"Hmm? Did you need anything, Hinata-kun?"

"What do you think of this?" Hinata shifts to look over his way, presenting him something which may or may not have been useful in the investigation.

Komaeda smiled.

Ahh, was this it? Was it because, just by being around him, Komaeda could feel like he was needed? What a pathetic reason. (another sigh and quiet laugh - which made Hinata raise an eyebrow) but, that isn't all that bad, is it?

After all, for human garbage like him to be given a use... if anything that was an honor.
