I'm sorry this took so long, I've beaten my OCDishness. I had it ready, but the guy in front is still waiting for the beta. So I'm putting that on hold until further notice. It's time for the next installment. Last time Voldemort came back as a monster. Now we're going to see their summer break. I don't own DBZ or Harry Potter. If you haven't re-read the story then you missed the reference that I just put in to 'Eight Legged Freaks'. This fic is brought to you by a twenty-three year old Christian.
Ch. 7 Craziest Summer Ever
Vegeta didn't wake up the next day, and neither did Bulma. And that confirmed Raditz' and Bardock's suspicions. They became blood-bonded.
Bulma woke up in her room and threw the covers off. She got out of bed, stood up, and fell backwards a few seconds later. She looked behind herself to see a tail swaying lazily behind her. "AHHHH! MOMMY! DADDY!"
…
It was after that, that Bulma and the rest of the Briefs were told of what just happened to their daughter. It went rather well actually. They told her all the changes that she was to expect, like an increase in appetite and aggression, among other things. They even warned her about the full moon.
"But why is my sister being affected like this? It doesn't make any sense." Tights said from her spot on the couch.
"Well, you see it's because she's a witch. Don't take it the wrong way. She's a sweet kid from what I can see. You see, unlike you guys, she was born with magic." Bardock explained.
"Oh my, I thought that was it." her mother said.
"Mom, you know about my magic?" Bulma asked.
"Of course I know, I'm a second generation squib. So you're technically what's called a half-blood. Or would that be muggleborn since your father and I don't have magic? It is so confusing." she said.
"Why didn't you say anything before?" her husband asked.
"Well it's a magical law that kept me from saying anything. I only knew because I loved going to my grandmother's house and she used magic all the time. Though she never used House Elves, she felt that they had their rights."
"Sounds like Hermione," Bardock said to himself. "So I was thinking, being an alien and all, I know some things about technology. It's far more advanced than what you have here; though we don't have those capsules out there. That's a new one on us. I think we can benefit from each other."
"Ah, I see where you're getting at. You'll tell me what you know, and I'll build them. I'll pay you for them as well. Sound good?" Dr. Briefs asked surprising Bardock greatly.
"Thanks, you got yourself a deal." he said shaking the man's hand. "I'll also be more than happy to train your daughter if you want."
"Oh yes, I think that would be a wonderful idea. And we'll be more than happy to watch the boys for you while you're away on your apprenticeship." Mrs. Briefs pointed out.
"Thank you. You don't know how much this means to me."
"Well you could start by telling us what you know about what they use out there." Dr. Briefs said.
…
Fred and George get slammed into the floor of the training room by Bardock.
"Hey Fred, who's idea was it to get this training again?" George asked.
"I think it was your idea George." Fred replied.
"I thought it was yours though."
"Nope, it was you."
"No, it was both of you guys' idea. Now get up and let's try this again. I'll be leaving for my apprenticeship tomorrow." Bardock said to the twins. Ron was laughing as Hermione was treating his wounds from his training.
"So dad, are you going to take me for my supplies for when I go to Hogwarts?" Raditz asked.
"Yeah. You think you have someone that will blood-bond with you?" Bardock asked as the twins started to stand up.
"Yeah, Hermione said she would."
"Nice. When are you two going to do it?"
"Well we're planning to do that right after you head out tomorrow. She's already told her parents."
"Alright, I'll see if I can't get home in time. I want to see if you can give the old wand maker a challenge." He said making his son laugh.
"Ready when you are." The twins said at the same time.
…
"Okay, so I just focus on my center, and I'll be able to use my ki?" Bulma asked trying to understand the concept.
"Yes, now focus." Vegeta demanded.
Bulma took a cleansing breath and started to focus, it took about an hour before she felt a strange pull from her center. Pulling it out she opened her eyes when she felt its warmth. She smiled knowing what she just did. She created her first sphere of ki.
"I did it! I did it!" She shouted with glee.
Vegeta walked over to where she was since he was training himself. He let a small smirk grace his lips. He just taught her to do that. If his father were here, he'd be proud. The smile left his lips as he thought about what he'd just thought.
'My father. Would he really be proud of me? I blood-bonded with a witch. Granted it was an accident. But things happen for a reason. And I still haven't thought about his offer. Should I take it?' He pushed those thoughts to the back of his mind and taught her the next thing she needed to know; How to fly.
…
Bardock was meditating in Baba's palace. He'd learned that mental discipline was his key to controlling his new power. He had discipline, but he never thought to have that kind discipline. It proved to be somewhat difficult but he was getting the hang of it.
"How long has he been at it?" Baba asked the pink ghost.
"He's been at it for ten hours straight mistress." it replied.
"Ten hours? That's a stretch. Even for him. He'll want something to eat as soon as he's finished." she told it.
"Yes mistress." it floated away preparing something for him.
'Just how much longer will it take before he gets out of there?' she asked herself mentally.
Bardock's mind:
Bardock was walking around his mindscape which looked a lot like his home world. He was walking around the empty city, when he saw a door that never existed. At least as far as he knew. He went inside and discovered that it was a whole new world on the other side. It looked a lot like Hogwarts. And like the city, its halls were empty.
"Man this sure is quiet."
"I never thought you would live after Planet Vegeta's destruction." Said a voice that haunted Bardock's nightmares since the day he received the ability to see the future.
"You." Bardock growled.
"In a way. I am a mental representation of Tolo. The one who gave you this power."
"And you were hiding in the Hogwarts section of my mind? Why?"
"I figured you wouldn't find me here."
"You don't want to be controlled."
"Not by the likes of you no. If I had it my way, you would never have access to this power ever again. But alas it builds up because you don't know how to use it until it cannot be held any longer. That is the only reason you still see the future."
Bardock sighed in defeat, "I can see why. The evil I did before coming to this place is inexcusable. If I could go back in time, I would tell my younger self not to do what I did. I'm doing what I can to make up for the mistakes I made. I know you're not real, but just something my brain made up. But I want to say I'm sorry."
"I sense that you mean this. Let us battle. If you win, you gain full control. I win, you have to try again at another time, because if you are to ever control this power, you must first defeat me."
"You want to fight me? Okay. I accept your terms. Let's do this."
…
Bardock smiled as he was walking to his home in West City. He didn't win the battle with Tolo in his head, but he was preparing himself for the next battle. Right now though, it was time to take his son on his first trip to the wizarding world.
"Hey guys I'm back." he said walking into his home.
Dobby popped into the hall with a smile on his face, "Dobby is happy to see Master Bardock is home. Masters Raditz and Vegeta are at the Briefs home right now. Shall Dobby get them for you sir?"
"Yes, thank you Dobby. Did Vegeta make his decision yet?"
"Yes, Master Bardock he has. But he would not say until you arrived. Dobby will be right back." The house elf disappeared with a pop and reappeared a few seconds later, "They are on their way sir."
"Good. I'll be here until the day after Raditz enters the train to Hogwarts. Could you put my things in my room for me?"
"Yes sir. Right away sir." Dobby said taking Bardock's luggage and popping away.
"Hey dad, didn't expect to see you so soon." Raditz said making his way into the house.
"Same here. Baba said I needed to take a break. One can only do what I did for so long." Bardock replied.
"What was that?" Vegeta asked.
"That's a trade secret I'm afraid. So I hear that you made your decision." Bardock asked.
"I did. You see... It's just that I... Frieza took everything. My father, my home, He even stole my freedom," he said with a shaky breath, "And then your son asked me to come with you. I got my freedom back. And when you asked me if I wanted to be part of your family... I thought it was too good to be true. I never thought you'd want me to be part of your life in that way. My answer is...yes. Yes I do want to be a member of this family. Not because of your title. But because you and your son have shown me a kindness that I never thought I'd get to have again." he concluded. He was at the verge of tears. Bardock got down on his knees and hugged the boy.
"You have a family again Vegeta. There may be only a handful of us, but that's why we have to stick together." He pulled away from the boy and saw the tears falling from the small boy's face. Bardock took the boy's hand in his. "I Bardock, King of the Saiyan race, blood-bonded to magic of both darkness and light, take Vegeta as my son and second in line to the throne. So mote it be." he said as magic filled the room binding Vegeta to the true royal line, and second in line no less. Bardock held the boy again, and Vegeta accepted the embrace happy to be part of a family again. He was no longer an orphan. He had a family again. One that he never wanted to loose.
…
They flooed into the Black Manor to see Harry and the gang waiting for them to arrive. "Sorry we're late. But Bulma insisted on coming along." Bardock said indicting the little girl that just came out of the floo.
"Well I can't blame her. She wants to see the wizarding world. And Diagon Alley is part of it." Hermione said making her way over to the girl.
"I can't wait. This will be my first look at the wizarding world." Bulma said in excitement.
"Same here. I'm kinda nervous." Raditz said uncertain of what would happen.
"Don't worry. It's nothing to be afraid of. It'll be good for you to see a world that not many people get to see unless you're magical, or if you have magical children." Draco said.
"C'mon, let's get going. We'll have to use the floo again since it was the only one that could get us here from the Inn." Bardock said excited to show his family and his newest son's friend.
"He's right. Let's get going." Sirius said flooing to Leaky Cauldron.
After they got there, they went to the back. Taking out his yew wand, Bardock tapped the sequence to create the archway that showed Diagon Alley.
"So this is the Wizarding world? It's amazing." Raditz said.
"Yep, and this is where our future lies." Bardock replied as he smiled at being back in Diagon Alley.
They went to their vaults, and began their shopping for school supplies. Raditz got himself a barn owl, and named him Loma, after the first Saiyan to blood-bond with a wizard. His robes, and other things didn't take long to get, but the wand was the last thing on their list.
"Hello there." Garrick said popping out from behind the table he had to surprise them. And upon seeing Bardock he smiled. "Ah, Bardock how is your wand?"
"It's doing nicely." he said pulling out his wand to show him.
"Yes it is. It's in mint condition." Ollivander said. "I see you brought someone. You think he might be difficult?"
"Well he is my son. So I'll let you guess." Bardock said making the old wand maker smile.
It took an hour before he found his match. It was a seven inch mahogany wand with a unicorn's hair.
"Oh I remember how I got this one. Some woman was yelling at me. I believe her words were, 'That is mahogany'. And I told her I knew that. And she exploded on me. That muggle was so strange."
"Must've been a tree huger." Bardock said out loud. "So how much?"
…
"Yikes, I swear the whole summer went by so fast. I never expected to be getting on the train so soon." Raditz said. He had a great summer, and was surprised to see it end so quickly.
"Yeah, I know the feeling. And remember, you don't have to be in the same house I was in. It doesn't matter. You could be in Hufflepuff for all I care, and I'd still be proud of you. Just have fun, behave yourself, and listen to your professors." Bardock said.
"At least Dolores isn't going to be teaching Defense Against the Dark Arts this year." Harry said offhandedly.
"Yeah, I'm glad Sirius will be teaching you guys."
"And so am I. This way, I get to spend more time with the pup." Sirius said making Harry blush as Draco snickered.
"You guys take care then. I'm going to spend the rest of the day with Vegeta, then I'm going back to Baba's."
"Good luck beating Tolo." Hermione said. She had her new appendage wrapped around her waist to keep it hidden.
"Thanks. It's time for you guys to get on then. I'll see you guys at Christmas." Bardock said as the whistle blew letting the children know it was time to get on the train.
"Bardock, thank you for the best summer I've ever had. And same about my school year too." Harry said as he hugged him. Bardock returned the hug, and ruffled his hair.
"You bet. Look after Raditz for me will ya?" Bardock asked.
"Don't worry, he's bound to be in a house where he'll have one of us watching him. Heck, even Luna volunteered if he's sorted there." Draco said getting on the train.
After they got onto the train, Bardock saw it take off. Raditz poked his head out of the window and waved goodbye to his father.
"See you soon dad." He heard Raditz say in his mind.
"Good luck. And don't tick off Professor Snape." He replied in jest. He could hear Raditz laughing as the train got further away.
…
"Okay mate I got to know. What were you laughing about?" Ron asked. It had been an hour since they left the station.
"My dad said not to tick off Professor Snape." Raditz answered.
"It all depends on which house you end up in mate." Neville said.
"I think you'll have to go by boat like the first years." Hermione said.
"Well that's going to be embarrassing. If I'm going to have to take the boats with the first years. My face will be red for an hour."
"It's not all bad. The view you get from the boats is one you never want to forget. You might even want to send the image to your dad. I think he might like it." Harry said to lessen the blow.
"Yeah, that was the one thing Bardock didn't get to do." Ron said in realization.
"Okay, I'll do that. Too bad this won't work around the school." Raditz said pulling out the scouter.
"Why did you bring it?" Neville asked.
"Not sure why. Maybe I could make a magic version of it. I know it won't be easy since I don't have a lot of time, but I think I can use it for my O.W.L project. I just need the right runes and stuff. Or maybe if I had it work with magic instead of working despite magic being around. You never know. I'm just throwing it out there."
"That would make one heck of an O.W.L. project. Hope it works." Ron said.
"Thanks." Raditz looked out the window for the nth time since they left the station.
"Raditz, what's wrong?" Hermione asked.
"I don't know. I feel like we're being followed by someone." Raditz replied.
"Don't be silly. No one could do that, and even if they could. Why would they want to follow us?
…
Nappa was on top of the train. Patience was not one of his strong suits, but he was going to have to wait if he was going to pull off killing every blood-bonded person on Earth. Even Vegeta had to die.
"I'll kill those filthy blood-mixers yet. They'll wish they were never born."
I have an announcement! I'M GOING TO KATSUCON! It will be at National Harbor MD on February 13-15. I'm so excited If you use my avatar as a reference you might see me. I'm also hoping (Thought not sure if it will happen) to cosplay as Dr. Elsa Schneider from Indiana Jones, and the Last Crusade.
That wraps this up. Hope you liked it. Did you catch my little reference to a different book turned movie? I probably said too much already. Please review, and God bless you.
