This chapter takes places at the end of The Future's Past, when Lloyd returns. BTW, last chapter of Another World's Dimensions! I'm working on the short stories, and then it's off to Evil Futago of Green, it will come out in the middle of August. I know it seems like a long way away, but it that time I have 2 different softball teams I'm playing for right now. And it'll give me time to write some chapters before updating so I'm not leaving you guys waiting for 2/3 months at a time. Also, Haley and Lloyd do the frick frack in this chapter, it's not detailed or anything, but it's mentioned
The ninja found their way off the roof top. Children played, as the ninja celebrated. Suddenly, dozens of news crews took pictures, and attempted to get interviews from the ninja. Lloyd grabbed Haley's hand and smiled. Once, the news crews and the police were gone, the ninja finally had some time to talk.
"Nice to have you back buddy." Cole put his arm around Lloyd "Good to be back." Lloyd smiled
"Now I have somebody to mess with." Kai ruffled up the Green Ninjas hair.
"Hey Lloyd, how about you come back to my place and play some video games?" Jay asked
"Thanks, but no thanks." Lloyd paused and turned to look at Haley, "I need to catch up with Haley, besides, I thought your house was destroyed?" Jay's smile dropped as he quickly turned to Nya, "He's right, when Garmadon kidnapped me, the house got destroyed."
"Then where are we going to stay?!" Jay whined.
"Your parents' house." Nya answered. Jay whined even more, but Kate tackled her father. Her hyper-active attitude combined with her father's and they began to lighten the mood. The other ninja went their separate ways, leaving the Green Ninja and the red head in the street alone.
Haley's once shoulder-length hair was now down to her upper back, her brown ecstatic eyes, were now tired and dull. Lloyd cupped her cut cheek, the blood flow had subsided, but a ugly scab now rested on her right cheek.
Haley looked up meeting Lloyd's eyes, she couldn't move, even if it was hours later, Haley still couldn't believe he had returned. Falling into his arms, Haley openly wept, grabbing his shirt into her fists, as she cried.
Lloyd hated seeing his love cry, but he was happy that she accepted him. He tightened his hold on Haley's lower back, bringing her closer to his body. The silence in the streets made the young adults extremely uncomfortable. Haley's sobs stopped, and Lloyd took the chance to finally talk.
"I missed you." He said in a soft whisper. Lloyd leaned down and kissed the top of Haley's head, which was rested on his chest. With her hands resting on either side of her head, Haley responded, "I missed you too..." She wanted to continue, but something stopped her. Something cool slid down her ring finger on her left hand.
Time froze around Haley as she saw the diamond ring sliding down her finger, a vintage three-stone diamond ring. The gold band glowed against Haley's pale skin. Out of shock, Haley's right hand covered her mouth, more tears flowed down her cheeks.
"L-Lloyd.." Haley's voice came out barely above a whisper, Lloyd's hands moved to his sides waiting for an answer. Moving her hand away from her mouth, Haley gripped the ring, and slowly pulled it off, putting in the palm of Lloyd's hand. With wide eyes Lloyd stood speechless, "I-... I can't, not now. You dropped the biggest bombshell ever, when I saw you, and this," Haley pointed to the ring, "Doesn't help, I'm not saying no, but I'm not saying yes. Just, please, give me time. So we can catch up, so we can make sure that what we had before wasn't some, high school romance, that what we had before was a one time thing."
Lloyd closed his open palm and stuck the ring back in his pocket, "I love you Haley, and I don't want to mess this up again like I did all those years ago." Sliding his hand into Haley's, it moves up her arm and held onto her elbow. Time started to freeze around the two as their faces got closer. Their lips brushed and distinctively their arms wrapped around each other as the kiss grew heated.
They don't know how it happened but they both ended up in Haley's small apartment. Showering a putting on fresh clean clothes, they both sat on the edge of Haley's queen size bed. The silence between the two became uncomfortable, Looking into each others eyes, Lloyd leaned over, pushing Haley back onto the bed. Slipping his and Haley's shirt off, he threw them onto the floor. Within minutes, all articles of clothing were lying on the floor.
Lloyd pulled Haley's back to his chest, sweat beaded their foreheads, as they both lied naked under the sheets. "I love you Haley." Lloyd muttered as a small tear ran down his cheek. "And I love you Lloyd." Haley muttered back as she fell into a deep sleep.
The Next Morning
Lloyd's POV
Darkness that took over me last night faded away, and the bright sun filled my body with warmth. Stretching with my eyes still closed I let out a satisfied moan, as my muscles pulled and tightened in the right ways. I lazily open my eyes, and see a blurry figure run to the other side of the room. Rubbing my eyes, I sit up and see Haley grab some clothes and stuff them into a bag.
"Haley? What are you doing?" My sudden sound made her jump, dropping the duffel bag of clothes. Turning slightly, with her eyes wide Haley rubbed her hands together nervously.
"Lloyd I-" My anger boiled inside of me, cutting her off I stood up, not caring for my lack of clothing. "What the hell?! You thought you could just leave, without telling me where you were going? You could have run off like I did, leaving me alone this time for your revenge!"
"Revenge?! This isn't some childish game I'm playing Lloyd, and if you can't grow up and be the adult you are, then you should just say goodbye right now and walk out that door!" I sat on the bed speechless, maybe, she is right.
"I don't have to tell you anything, you are not my husband, my fiancee, you're not even my boyfriend anymore. I don't even know why I did that with you last night! Look, I have to go, goodbye Lloyd." Flinging the bag over her shoulders, Haley fled the room.
Slipping on my clothes from last night, I leave Haley's apartment, and headed to The Bounty,I knew I needed help on the whole adult thing, and a lesson on relationships. Walking up the wooden plank to the deck on the ship, I noticed Cole, laying shirtless on the deck.
"Hey Cole!" Taking off his sunglasses and sitting up, Cole gave me a friendly gesture. "Hey Lloyd! Where's Haley, I thought you two had a little moment last night?" He winked at me, my cheeks burned a dark shade of red, Cole laughed "So what's up?"
"I need to talk to the girls."
"They're at my house, it's on 21st street, my names on the mailbox, you shouldn't miss it." Laying back down Cole continued to sunbathe. As I walk off the ship I smile to myself, nothing has changed since I've left, and I'm happy it hasn't.
Knocking on the door I hear shuffling form the inside, the locks are turned and a small girl opens the door. Smiling she stares at me, "My names Brooke! What's your name?" She asks, but before I could answer Taylor walks up behind the young girl.
"Brooklyn Ann Hence! What have I told you about answering the do-" Taylor glanced up, stopping her rant at her daughter she let me in.
As I walk into the living room I take in the sight before me, Kolby, Kate and Brooke sat on the floor playing a board game. A little boy with brown hair ran around the room, before jumping into Ashley's lap. Kain and Nora slept soundly in a crib by the couch. While Nya, Ashley, and Leah sat on the couch chatting.
"So what brings you here Lloyd?" Taylor says from behind me. Walking to the couch she sits next to Leah, who was holding her stomach.
Standing awkwardly in front of them, I rub the back of my neck nervously. "Well, last night after you all left, I kinda, in a way asked Haley to marry me."
Their eyes widen in shock, "Lloyd that's the stupidest thing you've ever done!" Ashley gasped, setting down the young boy, he began running again.
"I know, and we got in a fight this morning, because I got mad that she was leaving after a very intimate night."
Nya shook her head in disappointment, "You do realize that Haley has school every morning, right?" I mentally face palmed, dammit, I thought to myself.
"Well, where would she be now? I need to apologize to her." They all give each other worried expressions, "Is today's date the 5th of August?" Leah asked
"Yeah, why?"
"Haley should be a the Ninjago Cemetery." Taylor whispered, my eyes widened, "What?! Why?!" They never told me, as I jogged to the cemetery. I slow down when I see the gate, pulling the jacket that Taylor gave me closer to my body, a strong wind forces its way through the cemetery blowing fallen leaves across the ground.
I continue my slight jog until I see Haley's slouched figure on the ground. Flowers blowing against the wind she places them in front of the grave. Walking up beside her I read the inscription
Here lies one of Ninjago's most successful business men.
Robert David Ruth
Loving Husband, and father
6/29/72-7/5/21
Silent tears ran down her face she stared at the Granite Gravestone. One year ago, Haley's father died from a Construction Incident, they didn't know how but he had one last dying wish.
"He wanted me to take over the business." She paused letting out a sob, "Lloyd, I- I can't do it alone." Stroking her hair, she pulled away from me and started to walk to the memorial that the city built for her father. A large stone statue of her father stood high and proud.
"I'm sorry for earlier, I didn't know you were still in school." I muttered slightly, she shook her head, "It's my fault, I shouldn't have gotten mad because of that. Today was just a stressful day."
Silent grew between us, "I have a proposal for you. Not a marriage proposal, a business proposal. If I help you get your fathers company back on it's feet, will you consider being my girlfriend again."
Haley showed a blank expression, "No." My blood runs cold as she starts to laugh, "I'll consider being your fiancee." Wrapping her arms around my neck, I laugh with her, kissing her forehead, we walk out of the cemetery, and into our new life.
