The day was turning out to be a beautiful one, Juvia thought, sliding across the cold floor with a hop, skip, and jump.

According to what Gray-sama had told her, the rain that she was oh-so-fond of had frozen, becoming pelts of snow that covered the ground.

And the water had frozen too, so now Juvia could skid across it—skating, someone had called it.

She paused for a moment, bent to feel the solid beneath her feet, and stared through it.

Glass it was, she mused, clear and crystal, this element of Gray-sama's.

Speaking of Gray-sama….where was he?

She tilted her head, blue strands falling away from her face, and glanced around.

Her gaze landed on where he stood, a few feet away. His smirk was amused; apparently he had been observing her from his spot on the snow for some time.

"Gray-sama!" she called excitedly, glad that he was there. "Gray-sama, why don't you come skate with me?" The word rolled off her tongue funnily and she giggled at the sound.

Gray shook his head, the corner of his mouth quirking upward, like he was fascinated by her. "No, I'm fine," he replied.

She pouted a bit, but since Juvia had never been the type to give up, her expression brightened and she skidded over to him. Her hands gripped his and she tugged. "It's your element, Gray-sama," she informed him, delighted. "You should have the most fun with it."

He playfully winced, and the next thing Juvia knew, the ice below her feet was cracking and they both fell into the chilled water, rising to the surface with maniacal shivers wracking their bodies.

"G-gray-sama," Juvia sputtered, affected by the sheer cold of the liquid, "did y-you do that on p-purpose?"

Gray grinned, abruptly slipping off his shirt, letting her see the ripped torso underneath. "The water's plenty fun too, ne? Let's go swimming." He dove down before she could dignify him with a response.

After a moment, with her face a bright red—she wasn't quite sure of the reason—Juvia cheerfully splashed around and followed him.
