Chapter 8
"Lord Sesshomaru!"
Kim looked over her shoulder when she heard her mate-to-be's name being yelled.
"Sesshomaru? Who is that?"
"My retainer, Jaken."
The toad demon came running up to Sesshomaru but stopped short when he saw that Kim was holding onto his right arm.
"Get your hands off of him, filthy human girl!"
There was silence for two seconds before Sesshomaru sent him flying into a nearby tree.
"You will watch your tongue around my future mate and the mother of my heir."
Jaken fell on his little ass in surprise but very quickly got on his knees and started groveling at Sesshomaru.
"Forgive me, My Lord."
Sesshomaru then looked down at Kim.
"Let us be off, Kimberly."
Kim smiled up at him before nodding.
"Yes. Lets.
The two continued on toward the Western Palace with Kagome, InuYasha, Miroku, Sango, Shippo and Kirara following close behind.
"Are you sure you're ready for the mating, Kimberly?"
Kim looked down.
"If I don't do it now, I won't have the courage to do it later."
She then looked up at him.
"Besides. If I become a demon, I could really help stop Naraku."
Kim then looked at the strap of her bag on her shoulder.
"Speaking of help..." Kim stopped walking and set down her bag. She then opened it and pulled out her Battle Suit. "Kagome, I would like you to have this."
Kagome looked at the folded up suit with confusion.
"This is a Battle Suit that can increase your strength for a short time. Combine that with your Miko powers and you'll be a force to be reckoned on the battlefield."
Kagome picked up the suit.
"How will this increase my strength?"
"Even though that suit is as thin as silk, it heals itself. Also, while the suit is active, it will help heal you."
Kim then pulled out her Kimmunicator.
"Wade?"
His image appeared on the screen with a smile.
"Hey, Kim."
"Wade, I gave Kagome the Battle Suit."
The boy genius looked at Kim with confusion.
"If you are in the past to stop a greater force than Shego ever was, then you'll need that suit."
"No. I'm about to become like Sesshomaru."
"What do you mean?"
"I'm about to become a demon."
Wade gasped and nearly choked on the drink he had been sipping.
"You're going to become a demon?"
"That's what I will become when I mate with Sesshomaru."
Wade shook his head.
"You really got yourself into something."
"Believe it or not, I'm looking forward to becoming his mate."
"But what will your parents say about this?"
Kim looked at Sesshomaru.
"I have already discussed the full extent of a mating with your mother, Kimberly. She just wants to make sure you are happy."
Kim smiled before wrapping her arms around Sesshomaru's waist.
"I'm starting to fall for you, Sesshomaru."
Sesshomaru allowed a very small smile to show on his face.
"Um... Kim?"
Kim pulled her Kimmunicator around so she could look at the screen as she continued to hold her mate-to-be in her arms.
"Hello, Ron."
"How could you?"
"This is for my benefit as much as his. You are a wonderful friend, Ron, but our time together after prom just didn't have the flare that comes with Sesshomaru."
"What does he have that I don't?"
"Besides wonderful manners, a striking figure and beautiful hair, not much."
"What's wrong with my manners?!"
"You're always shoving your food into your mouth as if it were going to be your last meal. I mean seriously, do you even taste any of it? And when you shoved a whole Naco in your mouth, eww. Besides, if we ever went on a date, it was to Beuno Nacho. And always at Beuno Hour. Talk about being cheep. Sesshomaru, on the other hand, uses all of the eating utensles given to him. He keeps his shirt clean. Also, I've eaten pretty well on Sesshomaru's behalf. Being Lady of the West might not be a bad thing after all."
Kim then looked up at Sesshomaru.
"Also, Ron..."
She turned back to the device in her hand.
"I'm falling in love with him."
Ron gasped before his image vanished.
"It looks like your friend couldn't take that information."
Kim gave a small laugh as she embraced Sesshomaru again.
"Wasn't that a little harsh?"
Kim looked over at Kagome as the latter held the Battle Suit against her chest.
"Ron was against Sesshomaru in the first place. He didn't like him."
The demon lord pulled Kim closer and buried his nose in her hair.
"You are mine," Sesshomaru said, his eyes started to be tinted red.
When Kim pulled back to look at him, she was shocked by the color of his eyes.
"Sesshomaru? What's wrong?"
"My beast is wanting to ravish your body."
"Beast?"
"It's the basic instincts of a demon."
"And they want to ravish me?" Kim whispered.
Sesshomaru nodded as he looked her over.
"Let's just wait until we're at the palace like we planned."
Sesshomaru nodded and his eyes became their normal shade of amber.
"Crisis averted," Kagome said as she closed her eyes with a sigh.
Kim reached up and rubbed Sesshomaru's magenta strips on the sides of his face.
"We are almost there, right?"
"If we continue at this pace, it will be another two days before we arrive at the Palace of the West."
"Lord Sesshomaru!"
Kim turned around to see a young girl, around the age of her brothers, running up to Sesshomaru.
When the girl saw Kim, she stopped in her tracks as she looked between her lord and the new woman.
"Hello," Kim said with a soothing voice and a smile.
"Hi," the girl said with her eyes on the ground.
"Rin."
Kim looked at Sesshomaru.
The girl looked up at Sesshomaru at her name.
"Yes, My Lord?"
Sesshomaru put his arm around Kim's waist and pulled her close.
"This woman has agreed to be my mate. She will be your mother."
Kim looked up at Sesshomaru in surprise.
"Mother?" Rin asked.
Sesshomaru nodded with a slight smile.
"You do know that I consider you my own pup."
Rin's eyes went wide at that statement.
"My Lord?" the girl said, her voice a whisper.
"Come here," Sesshomaru said as he got down to one knee.
Rin slowly walked over and looked at Sesshomaru.
"Why the long face?" Sesshomaru asked, mimicing Ann when Kim's brothers had come in sad one day.
Rin looked at him, her eyes showing her sadness.
"Rin, do you not wish to have a mother and father again?"
Rin looked at Kim before nodding.
"I do... Papa," she said as she threw her little arms around Sesshomaru's neck. She looked over Sesshomaru's shoulder to Kim. "Mama?"
Kim smiled as she nodded.
Rin pulled away from Sesshomaru and threw herself at Kim.
"Mama!"
Kim pulled the girl to her and held her close.
"Shhh... It's alright, Rin. Mama's got you."
Rin broke down when she heard that.
Kim then picked the girl up.
"Come on. We've got a ways to go," she said as she looked around at her friends.
Sesshomaru put his left hand around her waist and pulled her and Rin close, his other hand picking up Kim's bag.
"Sesshomaru?"
He looked up at his mate-to-be. Kim was carrying Rin in her arms, the young girl fast asleep.
"I need to talk to you about something."
Sesshomaru held out his hands.
Kim walked over and let Sesshomaru help her to sit down.
"Yes, Kimberly?"
"What are we going to do about Rin? Will we be able to take her back as well?"
Sesshomaru gave a slight nod as he pulled Kim close, thankful that he started removing his bone armor at night.
"That's good. Rin is such a sweetheart. She's already got me tied around her little finger."
Sesshomaru looked ahead confused.
"What does that term mean?" he asked.
"I'll do anything to make her happy."
"Hn."
Kim then shifted Rin in her arms to where the child was laying with her head on Kim's chest.
"Our little girl is going to grow up to be a beautiful woman. You'll have to beat the boys off with a stick."
"I will not use a stick as you suggest," he said.
"You can't use Tokijin."
Sesshomaru didn't say a word. He just tightened his grip on her.
"I will not use a stick as you suggest," he repeated.
Kim smiled before looking over her shoulder at the man she was going to mate.
"I love you, Sesshomaru," she said before she pulled her Kimmunicator from her pocket. "I think it's time we gave my mother an update."
Sesshomaru nodded before looking at the device in her hand. After a moment, he was looking at a picture of Ann.
"Kimmie?"
Kim smiled at her mother.
"Hey, Mom. I've got some news for you. Even though Sesshomaru and I have yet to mate, you are already a grandmother."
Kim then handed the device to Sesshomaru before turning Rin over to where Ann could see her face.
"Mom, meet Rin. Your first grandchild."
"That was mighty fast."
Kim took the device from Sesshomaru before aiming it at the three of them just as Rin was begnining to stir.
"Rin?"
Rin looked up at Kim before smiling.
"Mama!" she said as she threw her arms around Kim's neck.
"Sweetie, I would like you to meet my mother."
Rin pulled away from Kim to look at the device in her hands.
"Hello, Rin," Ann said as she looked at the girl. "She's beautiful, Kimmie."
The girl buried her face in Kim's neck.
"It's okay, Rin. Mama's not going to let anything happen to you."
Rin relaxed in Kim's arms before looking back at the device.
"You're Mama's mother?"
Ann nodded with a smile.
"I'll see you soon."
Kim smiled before saying goodbye to her mother and putting her Kimmunicator away.
"And that's that. Mom knows about our little girl."
Sesshomaru nodded before leaning back against the tree. He pulled Kim closer and she did the same for Rin.
"Are you happy, My Kimberly?" Sesshomaru asked.
Kim nodded as she held Rin close.
"Very," Kim said as she kissed Rin's head.
"How will I see your mother, Mama?" Rin asked as she looked up at Kim.
"Sesshomaru and I are planning to mate. When that happens, I'm going to be having a child. When the child is born, Sesshomaru, you and I are heading back to my time. I live in the future."
Rin looked at Sesshomaru.
"It is true, Rin. We leave as soon as my heir is born."
Rin smiled as she wrapped her arms around Kim's neck.
"I love you, Mama, Papa."
"I love you too, Rin."
Kim has told Ron about her love for Sesshomaru and he didn't take it all that well. How will Ron react when Kim comes home with Sesshomar on her arm and Rin skipping about beside her? Those answers next time. Til then,
