A/N: The promised epilogue.

A hundred yards away from the Titans' huddle in the middle of the junkyard, a sniper had a rifle trained on the group of teens.

"Target on lock. Should I pull the trigger?"

The reply came quick and harsh. "Do not shoot, Deadshot, that is an order. Your mission is to do reconnaissance only."

"This is what it's going to come down to if we take the mission, so why not get it over with?" He asked and adjusted the scope at the end of his weapon to account for the breeze sweeping through the area.

Amanda Waller's scoff sounded like a puff of air against the sensitive mic. "If we take the mission, we won't execute it in a junk yard with something as clumsy and as traceable as a gun."

"'Cause the Titans'll be all over us, I remember." He rolled his eyes even though no one could see him.

"More importantly, the Justice League will be want an answer for this. Would you like to explain to Batman how one of the freaks on his side project ended up dead by a bullet with your name on it? I don't."

"Aw, please let us take the mission, I wanna play with the Birdie." Harley Quinn squealed into his earphone. "Me 'n him always have so much fun. He's like a little brothah!"

"A little brother you like to torture," came Killer Croc's gruff reply.

Waller ignored them. "Stay out of sight, Deadshot. I will not hesitate to detonate that bomb in your skull to protect the secrecy of this team."

"I know you won't," Deadshot murmured. He knew the throbbing at the base of his skull where the implant lay was psychological, but that didn't stop the dread feeling from spreading to his stomach that he was already dead and just didn't know it, yet. "But I've been following the brats for days, and they haven't spotted me."

"Thanks to Enchantress. But don't make her job any harder by exposing yourself. I don't want to make a decision about whether or not to move forward with this operation until you've done a full round of observation."

"So thorough. It's like you've never been forced to consider a contract while under duress before."

"I need all the information I can get before entering into a decision of this gravity," Waller replied, quieter this time.

"Yeah, Deadshot," Harley chimed in. "Don'cha remember that 'worlds are in the balance' and all that?"

"I remember, Harley," Deadshot replied. He followed the target with his scope as the figure moved back and forth amongst the other Titans. He zoomed in, assessing.

Could one alien girl be so valuable that a species from another galaxy would be willing to start a war over her?

And what would the Suicide Squad be willing to do to prevent that from happening?

A/N: Interesting developments, eh? I've had a lot of fun writing up notes for "A Diamond in the Sky" featuring the Suicide Squad, who will be taking over where the L'Andrexi left off. We'll see a lot more of Red X, too, and return to Beast Boy and Raven, as well.

Thanks for coming with me on this wild ride through my imagination. Thank you for your heartfelt reviews and encouragement, as well. It's truly a bright spot in my week when I receive an email letting me know that I have a positive review or a favorite/follow.

See you in the sequel!
